How do you say "4276"? Let me know in the comments! 😊Continue learning English with me by downloading my free ebook "5 Steps to Becoming a Confident English Speaker" 👉 www.speakenglishwithvanessa.com/free-ebook ❤️ UPDATE: I forgot one big number expression! You can say: "13k" "40k" "200k" and this means "13,000" "40,000" "200,000." This is most common in writing (especially about money), but it's occasionally used in speaking. 😁👍For example: "I can't believe that he spent 10k on a ring for his girlfriend and then she broke up with him!"
As Grecia says it would be great a video in which you use this kind of numbers 1/4 , 2/6, 8/9, 00.36 , 7 1/4. Etc ... and the plus, the minus; a common error spanish speakers make is when they say two for two instead of two by two or two less two instead of two minus two
Thanks, Vanessa, for this useful lesson. Here are my answers for the Number "4276": 1. Four thousand two hundred (and) seventy-six; 2. Forty-two seventy-six; Hope they are correct. Look forward to your next lesson :)
I really loved this lesson, Vanessa, ❤. Saying big numbers in English can be a little tricky and confusing oftentimes, I can tell you this from experience because I've seen native speakers use different ways to do so, especially numbers over one million or generally in millions. But I guess I finally became satisfied with clear Vanessa's explanation of this video's topic. Thanks so much for helping me out with this essential topic, Vanessa. I appreciate anything you've done for me 😊🌹.
Hi Vanessa, as second language speaker, I like this topic so much. I’ve been struggling with numbers while speaking and listening. You bring different situations together, that’s easy for us to practice, thank you
I'm very happy to see this topic i'm waiting patiently on you tube channel to download this video.THANKS Vanessa for helping us nonstop learning American English.I hope one day i'll be speaking english fluently and confidently.
If it can help you by any chance, to see* (to point out your aim with a verb you have to use "to", to do it with a noun it is "for" and with a whole sentence this is "so that" or "in order that", you can even use "for" if you change what you say after: if your aim is "I feed my cat", you'll say "so that/in order that I feed my cat" or "for me to feed my cat": actually you turn the subject into a direct object complement, add "to" and then the infinitive of the basic sentence's verb. So using "for" with a sentence is a little bit more complicated and less common but you can use it anyway) 😉
I work in a callcenter and one day I had a problem because a cx called to look for an unknown charge and she told me the charge was for Seventeen hundred, and I was like, ok it's not that much 17.00, at the end she answered in my survey that I wasn't even looking for the right amount, that it was supposed to be 1700... Thanks for the video, it's really helpful!

Hey Vanessa, I'm looking forward to your unmissable lesson! Btw, can I ask you if you accept any requests/suggestions for videos? In that case I think it'd be great if you talked about compound words, which are so common in english. In particularly I personally would be interested in understanding when it's acceptable to create new compound words without altering the meaning of the single terms, like they often do in songs (for instance fullmoon instead of full moon). Is it just poetic license or is it grammatically correct/acceptable? If you judge this topic as worthy of focus I'll be most glad to listen to your exposition on it. My best wishes to you and your wonderful family!
