I always remembered Herman saying hothands was what he called his style of playing and the ring is to help people and cameras keep track of his hands while playing.

@@matisseford Debating about different genres and styles is something I'll always consider stupid.
Power metal, and the older style of Dragonforce which was basically speed metal, is literally based on speed.
But blues, jazz and all that classical stuff is more founded on soul and slow style of playing.
A power metal music will make you feel fucking lit of fire and you'll feel like you can run five marathons in one day.
While those styles you mention will get you into the mood to just vibe and chill, or sometimes emotional cause there's just something about a slow paced instrumental with long bends that gets you in a sappy mood. Jazz would get you in the mood to dance and such, but not throw a table.
I really hate comparing two different things even if they're under the same basic lable; like comparing mobas and fps games. Even if they're both multiplayer games, they're completely different would require personal opinions to choose the "best"
Same with guitarists, these bands that perform for hours and move around and jump around wouldn't have the ability to perfectly play every single song they perform that night, especially with a genre that's focused on speed.

herman said on his twitch channel that the ring, is the controller of the lights in the neck of his guitar, him and sam have 2 wha, 2 whammy pedals and 2 boosters in 2 different positions of the stage for when they move, the effects are changed by their engineer, he uses a pc to manage the patches of both guitar heroes

The guitar overhand playing is really easy, its for flash and fun. We use to play like that back in the day. The tricks are also easy. However, the full on shred stuff they played is very difficult to execute well, especially live.
