18:02 I just installed this yesterday, and I was disappointed to see that two of the three UI themes have the TPM on there full time. It's info that we only need 0.0001% of the time, but it's taking up screen space 100% of the time.
I have installed the last four or five HansshowTesla Instrument Displays in my 2023 Model 3 dual motor, mainly because i was so annoyed that the car doesn't have a centrally mounted speedometer like 99.99% of the rest of the vehicles on the planet. I also like the front-mounted camera option available on the Hansshow instrument accessory display, although I prefer a 360 degree surround camera systems, like 80% of the newest cars manufactured (gross estimate). I am surprised that in several places in the comment section as well as in the video it was mentioned that the individual tire pressure monitors were a needless accessory on the instrument display. Unless I am wrong, the Model 3's and probably the rest of the Tesla models have neither a spare tire nor run-flat tires, so I think that individual tire pressure monitors right in front of you are an absolute necessity on a modern vehicle. I am aware that Tesla offers a flat tire service, but sometimes it's nice to know when your tire is losing air and how rapidly it is deflating so you can plan ahead and not destroy the tire and rim. The real-time tire pressure monitor systems are, in my opinion, one of the most important options on a motor vehicle (in addition to the surround camera, which is better than the Tesla pseudo-360 degree system). With the advent of radial tires a long time ago, a simple external visual inspection of the tire is wholly inadequate to maintain a safe driving experience, especially when your car can go from zero to sixty miles per hour in 1.99 seconds.
Correct tire pressure is important, but in my experience it doesn't change much so it's not something I need to be paying attention to as I'm driving. I got a flat tire while driving in my Model S a while back (this is the video ua-cam.com/video/R53MISzGqTo/v-deo.html here) and the car showed a warning with an audible chime when the tire pressure was dropping quickly. By the time I swiped over to that screen the pressure was around 25 psi. Having the tire pressure on the Hansshow Instrument Display wouldn't have changed the situation at all. I pulled over to the side of the road and plugged the hole then continued on my way, albeit driving more conservatively just in case. I don't mind that the Hansshow screen shows PSI, I just don't think PSI is as important as speed, navigation, and power consumption. What I'd hoped to have replicated is the functionality that I have in my S where the left side shows the up close navigation, the center shows the speed, and the right side shows an energy consumption graph along with the real time power consumption in that moment. The Hansshow screen shows the speed fine, the navigation is not as convenient or as good an interface as the Tesla native screen shows, and the energy graph is not a feature and instead it can display the position of the accelerator pedal which I find quite worthless. Overall I don't mind having the screen, but the software features and more importantly feature customizability and options are underwhelming.
I appreciate your well-thought-out response to my comment. I agree that I would have liked to have a little more customizability. I prefer the nighttime version of the Sport View, because it is reminiscent of the McLaren centrally mounted tachometer, but at least my Tesla M3 now has a speedometer closer to my line of site. Also, the round analog/digital speedometer looks great with an upper-open aspect steering wheel, often referred to as an "aircraft style" wheel. Minimalism can be appropriate, but sometimes it can go too far.
I didn't know about that and I haven't tested it. I have decided that I prefer the navigation on the native Tesla center display and I'm using this instrument cluster mostly for the speed dial and to reference some other details on that screen but not using Waze.
I have the android system version and it's buggy. Would not purchase again. That's the more expensive version. Also the update button is the only button stuck in chinese.
@@billegan That's good to know that it is possible but I looked through the settings trying to do just that and never found how to make the map full screen. Ultimately I decided I prefer the Tesla navigation so I don't intend to use the instrument cluster for navigation.
I am doing uber with my MY LR and I would like to install this amazing display.Have you noticed if the battery discharges faster since you installed this display? So,this display could reduce battery autonomy ?
I've had the same question, meaning how much electricity does the screen consume and is that a noticeable amount of range reduction? I've now driven several thousand miles with the screen (including a road trip to Missouri from Utah which was around 2,200 miles) and I don't see a difference in energy consumption or range. I've looked at the energy consumption screen and nothing looks abnormal there either. Considering how little electricity is consumed by screens in general vs the motors I don't think there's any concern.
It's a nice display with a lot of space to show telemetry. Too bad most of what it shows is almost worthless (tire pressure, really?), Would be great if this thing could be coupled with Teslogic.
got one of this F9. it interferes w MY 2023 GPS. gets error GPS inaccurate when connected. Navigation shows my MY running across houses instead of running on the freeway. so autopilot goin crazy thinking it is on surface road and would suddenly slow down. when I disconnect F9, no such GPS errors occur. and autopilot works fine.
A superbly detailed video showing how to install the Hanshow device.

@@peterkn2 Yep, they need to improve the software. I want them to let us customize our own interface, like the widgets in an Android phone.
Do you know what an extra display does to the guarantee?
The vehicle warranty is not effected by accessories unless you obviously caused the damage due to the accessory.

In android auto in waze night mode doesnt auto turn on do u have that problem

NEEDS CONTINOUS BLINDSPOT UPDATE. Hanshow has updated other displays but not this one.
That would be a nice feature to have, depending on how it's implemented.

@TY-kb9fc that would be annoying, bummer.
You can set it to full screen so when the map is on you want see the media thing on the right

You need to get a yoke now! Just installed mine in Napa leather
I had the same thought and perhaps Hanhow will send me a yoke to evaluate. I've always been curious what it's like to drive with a yoke.
@ElectricTechAdventures took me about a day to get used to. I prefer it as it changes the feel and is easier for me as I'm a one handed driver.
@@AlanTrades I'm certainly curious to try it out.
Is it working on 2024 tesla model y? I just bought a car week ago
@@KooJay-nl1yv My Tesla is from December of 2023 and I have no reason to suspect that it would not work in a 2024 model.

I agree. It's all duplicated info, except for the throttle position readout which is equally as worthless as tire pressure.

@@emperordragon7921 Interesting, I haven't experienced that yet.
I'll share it with a 3 owner friend
That's great, thanks!
January 7th 22 is the version
Can you elaborate on what you mean by "January 7th 22 is the version"?
@@ElectricTechAdventures the software version is the date it was released
Oh, I was thrown off by your previous comment about the yoke steering wheel and thought it was a comment about the yoke.
@@ElectricTechAdventures my bad for the confusion
No sweat
I ordered a dashboard from Hansshow and they sent a rug instead! Scammers!!!! Don’t buy you will never get your item!
Did you purchase it through Amazon or directly from Hansshow?
