all bms is designed with ntc module for monitoring temp,even the cheap 5usd diy bms board kit comes with ntc sensor, then why an extra protection is needed ,based on temp the charging current will be regulated ,so there is no need for delay charging ,all ev battery last gud for 5years and cant match the lifetime of cars like 8+year,this is bcz of how cells are packed,most ev scotter use 18650 cells or cylinderical small cells in which the dendrite formation is very quick compared to ev car (like pouch cells,blade batteries bcz of the larger gap btw the electrode) ,second the relative current drawn from ev scooter is high when compared to larger ev cars(due to larger batt),so the high current pull heats the battery and aids to quick dendrite formation, So this device with current features is pretty useless ,,adding a stabilzer/voltage protection is gud for the ev charger ,all the discussed features can be done much cheeper if needed by using smartplugs (sonoff pow ,which comes with consumption based cutoff,delay start if needed)i too use this for monthly current consumption nd cutoff
Slowly slowly all manufacture are doing this.But it will take time.One product they will design they do testing after testing only they release the final product..But there is a limit real life test and lab test..Once product come out to market they get to know what is the real challenge on product soo they will solve the issue based on product real time feedback and update product quality...and major fact is product pricing (product main factor should be affordable pricing).They can bring high end technology but it's not affordable.

How is his device able to detect the heat status of the battery, when the unit is activated? From what I observed, he has given a fixed delay. Another aspect is during a power failure. If the unit is setting its ON delay from power available, then even a small power interruption will make the device start all over again, with delay etc. In Kerala, it is quite natural to have such small power breaks. He talked about lightning. What if there is a voltage spike while his device is powering the vehicle charger? Will his device be able to ensure protection to the charger?
Selectable delay, user has to activate,[press a button located side], other vise charging will start after 5 seconds. it will not repeat after power failure
@@vimaldaslg518 2 MOV's alone WILL not protect against a lightning strike for sure. At C-DOT workshop, they have experimented and confirmed this. No heat sensor, every starting time it will wait 5 seconds with a question "Need cooling" if cust press button , delay will start. Ignore the message if not required any delay(cooling).
No offense but this is stupid for EVs with Phase Change cooling system like Ather, New Ola etc. Batteries charge better at warm conditions (not too hot or not too cold). Just buy a smart plug like the Tapo P110M, integrates with Home and Google Assistant as well so you can charge remotely in case of an emergency and its *only 700 rupees* . Keep battery between 40% and 60% or accordingly to maximise life span. In case of idle drain, charge as late as possible in the morning (preferably after sunrise for ambient temperature to be on the favourable range.

Batteries doesn't need to be warm to charge in Kerala's weather conditions. it is only applicable for places with close to freezing temperatures I agree that a smart plug with sufficient ampere capacity will be better than this

Even if it does have phase change meterials within battery pack, since it doesn't have activate cooling, it won't help much to reduce temperature of whole pack when vehicle is not moving(because these is no radiators, no airflow either), it only helps to average out temperature of individual cells withing the pack 2. 40c seems to be upper limit to charging without significant degradation. It is always advised to charge when battery temperature is lower than that. charging when battery is warm is not applicable in Kerala's context, since we don't have freezing temperatures. Ideal temperature seems to be 15-35c not 40c

Yes, the ojective of this device (or even better things) can be achieved with a smart plug. Smart plug facilitates remote connectivity using app and has more versatility, like controlling the charging current, choosing the charging duration, schedule charging, auto cut off at slow/ full charging, monitor monthly consumption and so on and that too at a price of less than ₹900.
I think Smart plug require wifi, single pole cut off & No voltage protection, No charge based cut off. Smart plug can use for Laptop charging. Not suitable for EV

I think Smart plug require wifi, single pole cut off & No voltage protection, No charge based cut off. Smart plug can use for Laptop charging. Not suitable for EV
