if only we could get a few of those in new jersey. i love going to the movies all the time but it’s annoying have to constantly deal with idiots who can’t shut up. i wish regal and amc would make this rule a lot stricter
Not sure where you are in Jersey, but I’m actually going to the one in Staten Island which is less than an hour. I mean yes it’s far but I’m down for it.
I love this place, you can just write your order during the movie and they bring it, a benefit is that the parents won't know lol (Not really, but it's kind of funny)
Wait but I don’t see what they’re doing drastically differently other than those special screenings at special venues which is an amazing amazing idea. But otherwise they’re just an independent movie theatre that sells food. Other theaters do that.
They've been doing it since the late 1990's. The reverence paid to film with their pre-rolls and policy enforcement is well beyond anyone else. Their food is generally better as are their beer selections. Everyone else is late to that by comparison.
ya'll must live in cities, in small towns/rural areas theaters are still mostly quiet, I don't think in my entire life I seen anyone kicked out of any theater I ever been in for any reason, everyone mostly shut up, talk was few and far between.
Honestly the only complaint that I have about the Alamo Drafthouse is the food and drinks are a huge rip-off compared to buying the exact same food twice as cheap, but other than that it's the best movie theater that I will ever go to, plus it makes other movie theater seem outdated on how they operate.
No talking. No texting. Just distracting servers walking around the ENTIRE time. If you want to buy a meal, go to a restaurant. If you wanna eat & drink during a movie, either buy snacks at the concession stand or smuggle in your own food the old fashioned way.
Here's a simple solution to your problem, just ignore the staff that's constantly moving around and don't have your feet out, there you go your problem is now solved.
So what happens if you work for an agency like...CDC...FBI...FEMA...response team for other emergency services...even the State Dept...an embassy...UN...or POTUS!. What then? You cannot attend the theater hoping you could experience a slice of "NORMAL" life.
It's because late moviegoers are not tolerated, which is pretty good for me since I'm a early moviegoer and a introvert, like people that either talk during a movie or on their phone Like late moviegoers they're also a distraction as well.
Very good knowing they have a no tolerance policy for morons. I've waited many years to have a proper and enjoyable theater experience without people posting themselves on social media or phones ringing and talking. They are opening near my location soon and can't wait
sounds like an expensive movie theater that likes to tell its customers what to do. place should be ashamed of their business practices. having customers use an app but that cant txt or talk in the movie. lol wtf disgrace to the alamo name
William Matheis the app is for the servers so they know when a good time to serve and take orders comes up and not disturb the movie. This theater is an amazing movie experience. Try it before you bash it.
@@BenNixon32 My comment was going to be the same as yours, obviously a person cant use the App while they are watching the movie, its for the servers they don't come around during the "high action time" so you don't get disrupted. I love it !
Most, if not all, movie theatres have policies that tell you not to use your cell phone. They play that policy right before the movie starts at AMC, Regal, etc. Alamo just happens to be one of the few that actually enforces it.
If you think it’s bad to have a no talking no texting policy, you are probably part of the reason that policy is necessary.
Nick B. That basically means keep your misbehaving kid home lol
Some of my favorite memories are at the Alamo Drafthouse. 🥰
I saw Goonies and it was great
The pre-shows before any movie are the best part.
ALAMO needs to come to Maryland!!!!!!
Probably the best movie theater I’ve ever been too. I hate going to AMC because it’s always ghetto
I love the draft house, I can't thank yall enough
So great. Please take over the world.

We need one on the upper West side..
BRING THIS TO MARYLAND!!!!!!

they should show star wars on the death star
Thanx Chef

25 locations in one state. But I tell you what, that's OK if you don't like it we have too many people moving here.

What about if a movie has a funny or a sad scene? The policy still applies for that?

It just seems like an outdated Studio Movie Grille concept
Disney world/land experience type expenditures
It seem you are not be able to go 90-120mins without eating and drinking and therefore just focussing on the movie.
We Have Cinema Cafe her in Virginia. Its somewhat like this
Thanx boSs
Californians who may see this. Please do not come to Texas.

What happens if you have to pee? You have to wait for permission? Lol
You get up and walk to the restroom?! wtf 😂

Put your phone on vibrate and then step outside to see what it says.
It’s not the greatest experience when you get kicked out for showing up 1 minute after the movie starts

If by "redefining" you men regressing into gender segregation, then yeah I guess so.
Not all that shiny is filled with light.
