After almost 8 years of owning the MPC Live, this is my first introduction to mixing on the MPC Live. The one issue I'll say is that you fly through this so quickly that it's a little hard to follow. Not impossible, just the kind of thing where one has to pause, rewind, and replay a few times to keep up, at various parts. This is the issue for me, at least. Either way, I thank you for introducing this process to me.
Yo! I've been cooking on the MPC since the MPC60 and you still teach me shit! This the most informative MPC video i've ever seen. I learn so much about my live 2 from you. Great videos dude, keep making them. You GOAT status!
I'd love a whole lot more videos like this one, please! As well as an in-depth exploration of the effects that come with the MPC! Dope beat, by the way! Can't get it out of my head now!

Fire big fan bro ,,your tips improve my game with the live Mpc 2 , can you plz make a video on coping and paste on the grid , sometimes I have to re-record my drums over and over again because I don’t know how to copy and paste on the grid
Maybe how to bounce stems/tracks once you create a full song, like if somebody wanted to import into a DAW and review how to make it into a WAV, MP3, file etc. If they want to listen on a mp3 player or in the car. I'm completely dawless. I use the mpc X and a tascam model 16. You dropped a gem regarding the mono static mix technique. Makes a world of difference. Really appreciate you Brother.
Great video and explanation. This was just what I needed. You got a new subscriber here. A mastering video would be great. Thanks for the mixing lesson. Keep up the good work.
Thank you bro! You help to master the MPS and show real things! I want more video on sound mastering and sound design! Your reviews are the best! I'm waiting for more useful master classes from you! By the way, I wanted to ask if you take subscribers' projects for analysis?

Very good video as I have to go back and get more information as I am use to mixing outside of my MPC X but with the new update I can’t explore the tracks as I use to do, so I need to learn how to mix inside the MPC X, bring on the mastering video and thanks a lot for this video again.
thanks for watching bro and yea i like to mix in fl studio but want to challenge myself to do it on the mpc , just wish they had more of a selection or atleast collab with other companies like how native instruments and izotope did n i got you on the master
Thanks for your video man! About the levels, you turned down the kick to avoid clip but if I'm not wrong in that way you are turning down the "volume" but not the signal, is it right? Some people say that you also have to turn first down the signal form program edit->sample page n°2->level , because the signal level e volume level are two different things . I would like to know your opinion about that !
i dont know why someone would turn down the signal of their kick if they want it to hit hard , but to each his own im just turning down the volume to not clip the master while maintaining the signal of my kick being hot
This may or may not be a dumb question but is using the screen that the main mix button uses the same as if I were to mess with the volume while on the main Home Screen. Like on the left side where you can hit the crown or single pad. If that makes sense
Hello sir , Love the video , Been struggling mixing and mastering, Please if you can also show how to master i would highly appreciate it as well. Thank you
Brother quick question, do you add that mono effect on each instrument including your sample or just on your master track. Also once you did your proper panning, do you remove the effect or still keep it being that you have panned each channel to your liking?
the mono effect was just for the master only to level out the mix but after leveling then i just take it off ,thats not part of my master bus and i don't mix in mono because if you use certain fx it can cause phase issue when listening back and i only put stuff in mono if i want better control over the stereo field
Do you even bother with gain staging on your MPC? Or do you track out your beat and then gain stage in Pro Tools or FL or some other DAW? I'm asking because most tutorials out there say to gain stage each of your sounds to about -14 to -18 dB but I noticed you only turned your kick down to -9 dB. I've never bothered trying to mix on the MPC X. I definitely gain stage all of my sounds/samples to about -18 dB though!
I got this problem in the mixer that whenever I adjust the volume while the beat is playing, it makes an automation. So basically if I turn my kicks down in bar 2 or something and play it at 1 again then the volume starts turning down when it hits the 2nd bar. Can anyone tell me how I can stop it from making these annoying automations?💀
Be careful starting off in mono. This interacts with plugins that change phase in some way and you could be hearing something pretty different than what you expect. The his mono trick should be used later in the mixing process to verify you’ve done everything right. We also rarely use mono these days and this trick will be used less and less. Just a heads up to not start off the mix behind. 😉💪🏽🤘🏽

U can change the starting and ending point on the grid screen using the q-link-buttons... it's the fourt knob on the fourt q-link-page (led-light)
I had to subscribe. i have one of these and don't know enough about mixing-using effects.

Is the stereo width plug in the only one you use on your master bus?
no bro im actually dropping the mastering video tomorrow ,the stereo plugin was just to show how to put the mix in mono

Making individual sounds more mono to pan then more accurately is definitely the way.
facts bro sometime the stereo width of the sample doesn't really fit the mix so it good to have more control
Thank you
Thanks
Just leave the stereo width at zero and use the on/off switch for the insert to toggle it
nice bro
Merci

what are you talking about?
