- This film was made last summer in NYC. Its interesting to see how filming NYC in a modern time can look so different simply because of the format used.

Enjoy :)
Music: That Home, Cinematic Orchestra.
GEAR USED:
Canon 518 Auto-Zoom Super 8 - Фільми й анімація
All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain.
Good blade runner reference
Just like every other moment that has been or ever will be.

Hell of a movie
The grain adds this weird human fragility to the footage. Everything and everyone looks so vulnerable, it's beautiful.
When I clicked on this video, I had no idea it would be this great. Fantastic job.
#same
This was fun to watch. I love what Super 8 can do for a sense of nostalgia, even with recent footage. Thanks for sharing!
It's very cool to see modern things expressed through this medium's aesthetic that calls back to a very specific timeframe. Super 8 makes everything look like it's occurring between 1973 and 1985.
While visually this is novel, I'd challenge you to develop something with a narrative and/or rhythmic structure to add credence to the medium.
there is a festival for this
@@rometmonte-cristo2722 Do you know what it’s called?
I can't decide if I'm in the past or present.
Great! The Cinematic Orchestra makes everything just a bit better. Just finished and uploaded my Super 8 video!
Wow, this is fantastic. I'm born in 2000, yet I feel nostalgic and good watching this!
This video is a masterpiece of its own.
HI Willem, I'm a producer for PIX11 News. Really love your video. Do we have your permission to air a clip of it tonight in our 6pm news? We will give you on-screen credit.
Thanks

@@WillemVerb smart man
Love it! It's always cool to force one's brain to fill in the "imperfections" with older, retro technology. What a trip.
This is so good. Made me feel like I was right there, and so much more than digital films. Love this channel and your work, keep it up!
this is really perfect for an indie film. love your works so much ❤
Fantastic art. Thank you so much for this experience. It’s unlike anything I’ve ever truly seen and heard. Please continue I make art and shoot film. It’s awe inspiring and you are an inspiration to me and probably many others out there.

Wow, I got actual shivers watching this. There's just something about Super 8, something undefinable. It renders the mundane as magical.

Yo Willem, I just found your channel through the zine video and have been watching your videos for like an hour now, I love your creative style man keep on making some dope ass art!
So sweet. Really beautiful stuff.
Thanks for another great video. While film effects are abundantly available in apps, they really don't match the visual effect that comes from the experience of literally filming and developing movie film. This video inspires me to take my super8 out of hibernation.
This makes me so happy
I was so moved. Bless you.
we need more of these🔥🔥🔥
This is so satisfying.
Such a nostalgic look 😀 the good old days 😎
Absolutely fantastic, keep it up !

Awesome video, great job!
Thanks to youtube recommendation I found this channel...so great
Cool, it looks so retro, appropriate for this Venus Retrograde.
The new WTC being filmed like this almost feels like an alternate reality.
Wow! Awesome idea.
This is beautiful man

You are a match that started a fire! I have to dig out my Bell and Howell camera.
Ohhhh wow
Great music choice, the way this was shot gives such a cool perspective.
sooo good
You rock man!!!!
I really love these super 8 vids! If you haven't seen it, you should watch Adrian Bliss, he did 2015/2016 in super 8! Great job
Very Nice! Going to do this with New York and a lot of the U.S in a couple of weeks.
coool, my next ones are London and Tokyo. Gl :)
this was so fucking good!!! glad I came across this
Very nice, very interesting. To get the full effect of "Super 8" watching I suggest turning off the sound while watching it.
Firstly, amazing video just like all of the rest of yours and secondly; which film stock did you use?
Makes me want to run outside and shoot!! Great!!
This is awesome, I keep expecting Charles Bronson to pop out and and shoot some muggers lol
amazing video
Beautiful footage! Did you have to color correct this at all?
Really love the film! Just curious, do you send your film to be developed?
Well, the way we think of older times is based on the mediums we see them through. black and white photos, interesting color photos and digital.
Hey I'm the guy from Reddit.
I hope to see more super 8 content !
Which digitalization method did you use?
Damn beautiful work!
How did you manage digitalize the footage? Looks awesome btw!
beautiful
What is that black notch thing on the left, similar to iPhone X?
HAHAHAHHAHAHHA
All film has sprocket holes which allow the film to be wound onto the camera allowing it to be exposed. The notch you see is one of those holes, and it shows up black because when it’s scanned for digital conversion there is nothing there.
whoa.
💙💙💙
You inspire me
oh this music, where did u find this?? damn I first listened to this on the series "Suits" can't believe you know this. Btw don't mind me binge watching old uploads.
do a vid on getting this developed or steps to! I got some super 8 i need to develop but dont know where to take it
thats a nice film grain emulation, bro! ;)
i watch and observe. the splendor of the visceral visuals is surreal. bellissimo! Lana Del Rey. she and your masterpiece led me to believe.
How did you manage to develop this
Priscila S they probably would have had to send it to a motion picture lab to get it developed, then scanned and sent back to them one way or another
some of this footage was used in the vid "Moog One - A Meditation On Listening"
Yes they compensated me for it :)
Thanks for the heads up.
knap man!
this is beautiful dude, honestly! quick question: which film did you use? and how did you find the auto exposure on the 518? keep up the good work!!
Arsalan Jamshid thank you so much ❤. Kodak 50d. Autoexposure worked great too if you can find the battery :)
brilliant, thanks g
👍❤️
OMG I saw the New Brunswick train station!! on 0:07
Do you take NJ trainsit from New Brunswick to new york??
Holyshit the fucking feels :’)
how you convert your film to be so high quality?
Who developed your film? I develop all my stills at home but I imagine motion picture is much more difficult. Really interested in super 8 though.
yo that looks like new brunswick!!
and also what film cartridges you use for the Super 8
Can you remember what film you used for this? Just bought a Canon 518 :)
