No hearing protection, eye protection, leg protection, head protection and it looks like he is wearing soft toed cross trainers on his feet. Cuts his wedge mouth upside down, starts his main cut by sawing away the corner hinge, the stump shows no hinge left in place, overloaded truck and trailer with just 3 straps! Yep. Real safe operation operation there Billy Bob!
And that sloping back cut seems logical but it has been proven to be less safe and less efficient. This guy has been doing things his way and got away with it so long he thinks he's Paul Bunyan. I hope no body copies him.
awesome video, awesome little machine too, thanks and keep up the good work, and to all the youtube safety warrriors out there, stay on your keyboards and outa the woods
Thanks for posting the video JT...I couldn't help feel anxious while watching this when you first started the chainsaw. Sure does bring back memories of watching Dad and Grandpa and You and... in the logwoods. =-)
Looks like regular southern logging operation.people that know what there doing and how to get the job done.seen it myself done it myself as did m y father and grandfather for over 6o yrs
Thats a good skidd for a ol 440 lol. I work for Harris Logging in south west Va. We are a small crew 4 men and we run on average 22 loads a weeks. Cut for heart forest. just thought i would share some loggers got it made with grapple skidders and shovels ha. I run a 95 640e skidder not to old but not new thats for sure
we had a 640 dual arch grapple, didn't like it worth a crap...pound for pound the 44o will out work it......that will open a can of worms! thanks for watching
I'm a Logger in Michigan.the guy cutting the trees down should stop he don't know what he's doing he should use directional boar cutting method.ya he should get a bigger saw up here we use 395xp and 390xp
Good to see someone who seems to know what he is doing, there are some real fuckwits on you tube. I had to finish falling about 3 years ago due to cancer but miss it terribly. The video brought it all back with a vengeance.Do you intend to post any more?
dude who ever is cutting is gonna trip over something while trying to start the saw like that left handed and cut the legs up i dont know why people start saws like that its just crazy i aleast hold on to the handle bar with my left and and start pushing the saw away from my body. but anyways awesome
Bin il a mal au dos non car il le coupe a une sacrée hauteur étant bûcheron jamais je n'ai couper un bois a cette hauteur ? n,importe quoi le meilleur du bois n'est pas pris /// écureuil !!!
maybe. but if you are in the know then you would know that those butts dont roll veneer off very well. if you cut above the main swell you can get a premium price for your logs. happy logger happy landowner.

Great video, keep them coming!!
Awesome video. Real people doing real things.
Looks like white oak.
Fun video, thanks!
Enjoyed the video.. Reminds me of when my dad and I used to do these kinds of things together
If you don't mind me asking, how much is a load of logs worth at the mill like you had at the end of the video?
So how do you pick the trees out to be cut? Do you have a forester, some sort of management plan, or is it just done by size?
all of the above.....thanks
Looks like regular southern logging operation.people that know what there doing and how to get the job done.seen it myself done it myself as did m y father and grandfather for over 6o yrs
Cutting a large tree is one part of the story to me, getting it to the saw mill is the second part of the story very labor intensive !
@Jemalacane wasnt trying to be defensive but you never know what is on some peoples mind........thanks for commenting!
