So did I, my oldest used to love Glee years ago when she was a teen and watched it all the time so when I first heard her sing I said oh that's Amber lol

Amber “kilt” it every time she got on stage. This performance was my favorite. She can do anything and I’m here for it! She also won on ‘Dancing with the Stars.’ Her Christmas movie was good as well. Amber definitely has a light of love and blessings shining within her. ❤😊

She definitely listened to Clark and Yebba's rendition of Gravity. I couldn't remember why a couple of her vocal choices sounded so familiar until I went back to listen to their cover.
I was trying to figure out how I was able to predict her descending to ascending run soon as she did it, now it makes sense because I watched that Yebba/Clark version so many times
Yes, I definitely heard Clark & Yebba’s version in here too. And their rendition is definitely churchy (the first time I heard Yebba, I heard Dorinda Clark Cole in her voice). But Amber still killed it!!!
It’s interesting, cause Yebba and Clark clearly studied Black church music, which Riley certainly got from the source. Riley has also said that she hasn’t heard Yebba and Clark’s version. I think Black church influence is Black church influence, in both cases.
@@JameSongMaker Interesting. I respect your thoughts. I agree with the black church influence of both of the arrangements is apparent. However, it's possible she heard the cover of it & she just didn't know who was singing. It doesn't take anything from her in the least. But her intuitively making the same vocal choice as Yebba did doing a descending & ascending run on the same word "gravity" (which isn't easy) is hard for me to believe. Had she did one or the other, I would just chalk it up to coincidence because that does happen when people are influenced by the same artiss and approach music similarly.

I don't know why you do, what you do. But brother this has been a rough week for me. On dialysis, Just coming from the transplant hospital. Overwhelmed with the cost and process. A friend sent the clip of the first performance. I opened it and two seconds of her opening her mouth, I said that's Ms. Amber Patrice Riley. Wait. I am not supposed to know this. Are we not supposed to guess( I never watched the show and didn't know how it worked) but I know that beautiful, phenomenal, distinctive wonderful voice. 🥰 🙌🏿👏🏿 I have been a fan of Ms. Riley since season 1 episode 1 of Glee. She's always been underrated and deserves all her 💐💐💐 flowers and every wonderful accolade and award in the world. She should already have that world wide career and all her performances and win on The Masked Singer and the former win on Dancing With The Stars did was gain her new fans she didn't already have plus remind her old fans of why we love her so.
