I didn't know our cat would be returned to us! Its personality is... questionable, however. Regardless, we're continuing to fight addictions while reacquainting ourselves with Obenseuer and collecting more THINGS along the way. We genuinely need it all. Except what I ignore - we never need that [citation needed].

Same; it came kinda fast. I forgot how much I actually stored around the apartment... gonna be doing some decorating sooner than expected, but that's okay! We kinda already got into the "meat" (screams in Ostranauts) of Obenseuer

I think the thing is, I of course say this with love, you might read the tool tips of the items, so you know what all is needed for the apartments and only keep the items that are whatever they're called tenement resources in the box (unless you're just using it for holding on to stuff). I say this just because the junk wood is just for burning I believe..
Also, I want you to be aware of this the dev changed how you get paid by rent. I saw you selected default and default now is the people pay you rent WEEKLY. It's not daily anymore unless you go back and do the special sandbox edits. I was so excited when I saw all the income had increased (y'know when you're talking to someone who needs an apartment) then I realized the reason its increased is because it's weekly now. Which is really going to change and I think greatly stretch out playthroughs of this game now.
Also.. gosh I'm sorry I don't mean to backseat, but maybe keep track of who you're putting in what room so you don't end up having to do more work/more money. My last playthrough I nixed mental health completely in the sandbox settings and it was SO nice, since the new update I'm going back in with the mental health. I'm prolly gonna have to get the sauna another go haha
Oh also new water system is messing me up!! My meta was always filling up my water at the hostel's water tower, the first time I got there it was EMPTY!! haha So definitely be careful of that, I might be doing what you did last playthrough and hitting up the water in the pea soup place!! I wonder if that place is still considered clean water or if its dirty. Anyway.. I'm so sorry for the huge paragraph, I'm just so excited to see you playing again!!!!
It honestly feels like christmas again or a birthday gift (mine was jan 10th) with this new update and PZ build 42 has come out and all videos people are putting out about it!!
Also also I notice they've been putting out a lot of rapid fire updates so I hope your save file is good!

I did notice the tooltips say that but I have trust issues. I'm also a packrat in games. One day I might be motivated to get the junk wood out of there (same with plastic trash and electronic waste), but today is not that day :P
Also noticed the payment is weekly by default and I'm okay with that. Daily payments was unexpected the first time and I hardly needed to explore for personal gain as the day became solely searching for upgrade materials. I'm thankful the option is there in the custom difficulty, though.
Regarding tenant locations, tenants had always increased pay with nicer rooms, no? Obviously some folks are better starting with if you have the rooms for them, but early on I think it's a bit whatever. If it's a huge problem, then I'll evict them but at the end of the day we'll have other revenue streams.
Happy belated birthday! Awesome that more folks are checking out PZ nowadays. It's a rough one to watch someone's first time with, but it's come a long way from strange pixely green goobers shambling around. Still waiting for NPCs, personally, as the gameplay loop runs to an abrupt close once you find a modicum of comfort. From a viewing PoV, I hope to see some nice RP servers. I think it's in a good enough spot for that.

there's is a free sledge hammer, i uhh think it was in the little container house on the opposite side of the canal from the toll bridge. at least that's where i found mine i think
