From the time I was old enough to understand what football was, about 3-4 years old, I’ve pulled for the patriots. Something about them just drew me in. I love this team. Long before they had a ring, I knew this was my team. If you’d have told me 21 years ago when I became a fan of this team that they’d have 10 straight AFC Championships and 6 wins in 9 Super Bowls just 20 years later, I’d have probably laughed you out of the room. People complain that Super Bowl was boring..they can’t appreciate good defense then. The pats proved they are the best team hands down during the playoffs. Each game was a tough one and they had to all step up. Playing good defense against the chargers, winning the slug out against the chiefs (this was the nail biter of the playoffs), and then playing a tough game against LA where the coaches were battling it out! What a solid season and playoff run. Go PATRIOTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I agree... Anyone who says it was a boring game doesn't understand football. They are 1 game a year fans. They dont watch any other games besides the superbowl. That game was ONE score and ONE play away from going either direction. I'd rather THAT than the score being 30 - 10. The most impressive feat by the patriots this regular season was putting up 38 points against a great Bears defense. I'm a Giant fan who is a great admirer of Bill Belichick, who was so instrumental in that great Giant defense of the 80's and 1990, when he will always be remembered for his defensive approach and game-plan for Super Bowl XXV. You know why the Pats do so well against ELITE teams? Because the Pats RESPECT them. And that's why the Pats work hard. That's why the Pats really prepare. That's why the Pats ultimately execute. And that's why the Pats give themselves a chance to win when everybody else is counting them out.

Anybody can help me understand why in the world Bellichek is looking for where McVay is on the sidelines at 53:33? Why wud he care during game action where the opposing coach is standing?
I think he's trying to get a read on McVay and his body language. In SB XLIX, he didn't call a timeout at the end because he could see Seattle's coaches weren't sure what they were confused and he didn't want to give them time to collect their thoughts. We all know how that ended.
@@bostonsports98 Interesting that you happen to bring up the biggest blunder in Super Bowl History up til that point ( til outdone by Darelle bevells pass call) and one of few Bellichek brain freezes of NOT calling timeout to give his team 35 more seconds to come back and get a game tying FG for if/ when Seattle scored.--- Even if there was momentary confusion by the Seattle coaches, Russell Wilson stood there CALMLY for over 20 seconds ,strategically milking clock since clock was NOT a factor for them-- they had enough time for 3 runs if they wanted! @@trueey1566 Would love to hear how you can turn an OBVIOUS blunder into a masterpiece? Unless you can SOMEHOW connect his not calling TO to Butler's INT...
It definitely was a gamble by Bill no doubt. He was heavily relying on the defense at that point. I bet his thinking was that if you are up by 4, you don't make it easier for the opponent to reach the endzone. If he called timeout then Seahawks would no doubt run it 3 times. But the non timeout may have taken Pete Carroll by surprise, therefore the clock kept running so by then the Seahawks had to pass on one of their final plays. A pass play has a chance of a sack or even luckier a fumble or interception. It was a gamble and definitely could have been a blunder, but it did put pressure on the Seahawks knowing that time wasn't exactly on their side since they still needed a TD within 30 seconds.
Mcvay: “This is so cool, I can’t wait to see what they do.” Belichik: “Are they going to close the roof? Because there’s a wind factor now”…. Game over.
