My son got a 96 ranger 2wd 4l 6 cylinder for $750. Went to visit his gf, and some lady that was texting while driving ran into it. Full coverage insurance on it , and collected $5200.
Similar thing to mine. Have a 96 Mazda b2300. Paid 1150$ for it and a young lady was texting while driving and side swiped me. Just dented the fender and door. Still fully drivable. Insurance adjuster came out and totaled it and let me keep it and cut me a check for 2200$. That was 5 years ago and I'm still driving it.
I'd pay $800 all day long for that Ranger! Those little trucks are tough and parts are cheap. I'm sure you can sort out the issues it has and turn a profit on it for sure!
i just got an 05 edge 4.0 5 spd ex cab 4x that had bad timing chain and head gaskets it ran, but i paid 500 for it and put 400 into it pulled motor replaced both timing sets and new headgaskets now i got a nice little truck
800 is a steal 1 1400 is a stele I've been messing with these trucks for over 15 years I don't know where you're at but every time one comes up Paul surround me they sell in a heartbeat I bought these trucks four-wheel drive and spent 3/4 thousand dollars needing frames Paint Body Work doors and exedra that's a smoking deal I don't give a s*** if you had to rebuild the whole back axle and the front axle on the front end you know what's funny I've been doing this a long time since the trading times was out I never really get the credibility that I should because I haven't started a page Rave log yet but I think I'm going to start
I just got a 2003 XLT 3.0L with 124000 miles on it from IAA auction. I couldn't find anything better in the Houston area, that was not heavily dented, crashed, rusted, worn down, etc. I wanted it for me, even though it sold for $1825 and I probably have to replace the short block. After all expenses, including the $1100 tow from Ventura to Houston it was $3800. So... well, I wanted a Ranger
3/4 of a video watching you talk about the truck, 1/4 you actually doing something to the truck... Why is it that every video now on you tube has to be a person talking and talking?
I think as long as it's not major engine or transmission issues, for the price its not bad at all if only a minor fix as thermostat or even a heater fix a little more money. The dents can always be removed. It started up is a big plus. Dosen't sound bad.
That Ranger has some crappy wheels. Paint them gloss black with a clear coat and they will go well with the fire engine red paint. That truck has some nice extras: chrome grill, two hooks in the front, 4WD, super cab, and a 4.0 L V-6. People love the older Ford Rangers, and you should have no trouble selling it.
paint the wheels silver the black is getting old and it's only paint there are a lot of Rangers that have the original steel wheels keep it simple, I own a 97 ranger with 338,000 on it they are a little work horse.Good luck
Here in San Antonio Texas that ford ranger would be at least 5-6k lmao I got lucky getting mine for 2500$ 2002 ford ranger edge white single cab but had to put a different engine a few weeks later then 2 years later rebuild the transmission

It all depends on which insurance company you have./ but most people would never put full coverage on a old vehicle
Just paid $8500 for a clean lifted 4cyl . High milage but looks and runs like new. Love it!

thermostat isn't really a minor job on the 4.0 liter.
if you don't replace the whole thermostat housing with a metal one, it WILL leak.
