It seems obvious to me that you're not very familiar with House of Matriarch. They have a couple of fragrances that feature pine or fir that are amazing. "Days of Future Past" which was a limited edition and is mostly a fir fragrance, and Albatross which is a coastal aquatic that features pine I believe. They're both incredible with Albatross especially being a work of art.
After living in Maine, I became hopelessly addicted to the scent of pine. The cones smell other-worldly; yes, they're that good. And it seems to smell stronger the further north in the country you go.
You might like Colorado then
I am from Nova Scotia and I agree 100%.
I don't miss much since I've left, but smoke in the pine forest at night in the dead of winter is just such an unforgettable and serene smell.

Fantastic list Sebastian! I love pine! That Annick Goutal bottle is so gorgeous, love their fragrances! Caron one also seems interesting although i'm not sure how i'll like the castoreum. 🤔
Loved the video! My first thought of a pine fragrance is Ralph Lauren Polo which I enjoy. Another Bottega Veneta that's really good is the Pour Homme Extreme.

Idyllwild a fantastic cypress scent. I used to layer it with DSquared's Rocky Mountain Wood for the full forest effect. And you can never go wrong with Cape Heartache up here in Canada. The true north, strong and green. 🌲🌲🍁🌲🌲

Ok got my ineke sampler in a day or two ago. Just put on Idyllwild, instantly went to their site and swooped it up. Big time love. Like you said it reminds me of when we used to bring the tree into the house... the old man would cut the bottom off so it could get the water better... just made the whole house smell like happiness. Really happy to find this one. Thanks man.

Thanks! Woman who loves pine forest here. I have been curious about a lot of these because I miss the only one I have had that you talked about - SL Fille en Anguilles. I used it up and haven't bought again because the price went up since I bought my first bottle. Kind of annoyed they put it their exclusive line. I have SL Participe Passe, and it has some similarities.

I have the bottega venetta pour homme parfum, and by smell alone it is my favorite fall fragrance. It doesn’t have great longevity but the smell is amazing. It’s a darker and deeper version of the edt.

Very nice list. I would like to point it out that Issey Miyake L'Eau Bleue D'Issey also has a coniferous forest vibe even if no fir, pine etc. notes are listed. Very good fragrance - niche level as some reviewers point it out - but sadly discontinued. Still available @discounters tho. Cheers!
I recently purchased the Serge Lutens one and i got the older bottle instead of the "tower" bottle...so its an older formulation ..which is fine...Love the scent...i dont find it projects very much..but i love it. I do have the Parfum on the Bottega Vanetta ...last well and is quite piney and leathery..quite dry..lasts well..I believe now its dc'd...i purchased it two yrs ago.
Perfect! This is what i was looking for for a long time. The resinous sap of a pine tree is one of nature's most awesome natural fragrances. Btw, would you also include Polo Green among the prominent pine note fragrances?
Fille en aiguilles, "Girl on needles" obviously rhymes and refers to a women in high heels (on needles).
Problem with that one is that the pine note is only a small part about it. People describe it as gingerbread scent.

I have one I hope you will try or get! It’s called Blackbird by Olympic Orchids- it’s pine + blackberry, and is just delicious to smell. Also of course there is Enchanted Forest. Someone else mentioned Norne and I agree- I hope to get it someday, I’ve only smelled a sample.
I love fir fragrance the most..There are plenty of conifers around my home ( high himalayas india) and fir amazes me the most.

I would love to find a fragrance that captures the top notes of Art of Shaving's Sandalwood, which opened with a bracing blast of eucalyptus and fresh pine. It had a freshness and true-to-nature smell that I have never found since. Any suggestions would be most welcome.
Norne by Slumberhouse is quite possibly the ultimate pine forest fragrance. It brilliantly utilizes oud to create that deep damp forest atmosphere and completes it with the pine and resins with some spices to create a truly transportive fragrance experience. Too overlooked IMO.
Wow. This is one of my most favourite genre. Tbh I love YATAGAN- oddly with Yatagan I swear I get a cannabis note? Do you? I mean that's 70s so not sure they did that then. I've either owned or sampled every one on your list Sebastian! I love Serge- you pronounced it correctly. Some of the French names are tricky lol. It's so freaking hard to get Lutens on discount sites anymore though. Or they are just out-of-stock. Of the few frag reviewers, you and I share the same tastes. I do love Profumum Roma Arso & Fumidus, although one might find them more smoky but Profumum's high concentration of oil is incredible. You ought to try Russian Leather Birch Tar by Matthew Meleg- incredible😳 Tiziana Terenzi is in my to 10 houses. Thanks for this review.
Cape Heartache is one of the best. What makes it great is the presence of strawberry which is prominent throughout. Combination of pine and strawberry works incredibly well.
Nice list. Wasn't a fan of Winter Nights, but like Winter and Winter Green.

Armand Basi Wild Forest, also I smell pine or I should say fir tree or Christmas tree strongly in Angel the original one. I used to have it and wear it in Russia and in NZ, so doesn't matter what climate I live I always smell pine forest in both of them...

Norne is incredible stuff, but it's impossible to come by!
"Fille en aiguille" is pronounced "fea-y on egg-u-ea-y" with "Fille" and "aiguille" ending with a "y" sound like the beginning of "yummy".
Litterally it means "girl in needles" but it's also a pun with the French saying "de fil en aiguille" which means "from one thing to another".

Thanks for this video bro, ever since I bought Bottega Veneta, I've been obsessed with it. But unfortunately it doesn't last long. I'm desperately looking for fragrances that smell close to Bottega Veneta but lasts longer. I can see that you have mentioned Russian Leather is close, but even that doesn't last that long as per some reviews. And I am not able to find the parfum version of BV PH. Do you know of any other fragrance that smells very close to BV PH, but lasts really long?

Nice list - I was so excited when I saw this topic as I love the green piney accords. However, little disappointed that you may have left two of the most famous piney scents: 1: POLO GREEN (iconic pine scented masterpiece) and 2: PINO SILVESTRE for him cologne - its bottle is the shape and finish of a green pine cone for gods sake.

There's a Greek chewing gum (Mastic) which is a little like the idealized version of what chewing pine resin would be. If you like pine, I'd recommend it.
Be careful about eating pine nuts. They are known to mess up your sense of taste! Look it up!
I LOVE coniferous forest smells, be it pine, fir, juniper, cedar, etc.! It's one of my favorite smells on earth. Gucci Pour Homme (2003 version) reproduced the smell of a forest better than anything I can think of. Of course, it's not made anymore, but it was one of the most realistic forest floor smelling scents. Another favorite of mine is "1976" by Floris. It's a beautiful forest smelling scent, but this one is more juniper. Beautiful!

I really like Kenzo L'eau 2 Homme. Have you smelled it?
It has a fresh bitter citrus opening + wood dry down. I think the opening notes are grapefruit + juniper berry (not sure, CMIIW). And there's no sweet / musk / amber notes at all which is a plus for me

Try Winter Nights by Dasein. Take the strawberry note out of Cape Heartache and add a smoke note similar to A City On Fire.
