These are so sick! The one that I was, for some reason, more focused on was the one at 1:10. The reason I pointed that one out is because I'm wondering how you managed to know how to focus the camera so that the camera being swung is the one in focused. How do you know it's focused correctly so what you want is in focused and what you don't want in focus is not focused? Do you do many test shots till it looks good than go for it? I really hope this makes sense. I'm just getting into photography and filming so I'm sorry if this is a stupid question.
I think they do not use focus when clicking the photo...instead they use the portrait or blur affect afterwards while editing the pic ( I am not a professional photographer...I just presented my point of view...so pls dont get offended)
Tip to get water reflection effect easily, duplicate the pic layer, Flip vertical, Adjust the layer where it fits like a water reflection on the bottom, The lower the fill or opacity of the layer. Boom! A perfect water reflection

Either he somehow set it to autofocus with some mode my crappy old Canon can't even imagine, or he preset the focus and timed it insanely well. I guess if you set the focus and set it to continually take pictures then you could pick the one that came out? I hardly even know what good new cameras are capable of :)
What about the equipment? And the specs for all these shots. Plus, you should do a video with failed pictures until you get the best one, to show people that it takes time to achieve something great.
Try slowly walking up to pigeons (A bunch) and then use your foot to stomp on the ground and take multiple shots .. try different settings. 1/160 fps with different iso/light settings and you get a nice slight blur affect to the wings but nothing else. or you can set the iso different speed and a higher shutter range for crisper shots. black and white is nice. especially if you adjust threshold for b&w in post and reduce grey colors.
No worries, a regular mobile smartphone can do awesome as well! I've always taken my photographs with my Samsung phone, but a friend of my mother allowed us to take her Canon camera for a bit to see how we like it. You bet tomorrow we're going to the woods!

Lower your apperture to minimal depends on your lens, increase SS so you can catch the smoke, play with exposure and focus, make bokeh on background
I believe some editing/color gradient changes were made on that image to get that final product.
