My first real Valve game i played was the orange box on the 360. Still some of my fondest memories to this day. Still it blows my mind there was an original Xbox port tho
I begged my mum to get me this before we could afford a PC lol, I genuinely couldn't believe how incredible it was. Probably played it 100 times from start to finish. Still my favourite game of all time
As someone who has been playing the original xbox for ages now, I would be shocked if you bought a working xbox and had something go wrong with it over any reasonable amount of time, there's a few issues with em however; the disc drives rarely work, but that can be circumvented entirely. Also the capacitor that store the date and time was cheaped out on so they almost always are dead. But other than that, the xbox is a hardy console (I had mine take a 3 foot stumble and it was fine) don't be afraid to buy one thinking it's gunna be hard to maintain, there built different.
To be honest, this sµcked. But without the OG Xbox, I might have never played games like Doom 3 and Half Life 2. It was cool back then, but today this is the worst way to enjoy these games. In Europe, a copy of HL2 on Xbox fetches between 28 and 35€. You can literally buy a second hand $50 Dell computer and both HL2 and Doom 3 on sale on Steam for less than these 2 games on Xbox. If you get the OG Xbox, play Jet Set Radio Future and games you can only play there, but for everything else, you'd be better off using almost any other devices.

this port was my first introductory to the half life franchise, as I never had a PC. I still own this port and play it
Keep up the genuine content man 💜
This and Doom 3 were both ported to Xbox. I honestly think Valve did better than ID with porting their game to Xbox.
You really should invest in a better microphone, but other than that - good stuff. Keep up man!
True. I’m using an in line microphone from a set of IEM buds lol.
hey man, if moistcritikal can use earphones for most of his career, so can you

Yeah, I’m aware of the capacitor problem. Sucks that Microsoft had to cheap out a little, yet make such a legacy console.
My first valve game played on og xbox. Damnnn it looked amazing on my crt tv
As long as you experience peak, you’re cool. Lol
underrated.
oh my god my son is famous???

Xemu definitely makes the experience worse thsn original hardware. Xbox emulation isn't quite perfect yet
