If you mean Alex Belfield sent to prison for stalking, the courts have to follow sentencing guidelines. They cannot pluck a number out of thin air. Since Alex was found guilty on multiple charges against different people, the courts follow the totality guidelines and they must apply the sentences consecutively.
With regard the rapist case, I have no idea what you are referring to, but that is a debate for light punishment against a rapist and a false equivalence against a serial stalker.

His sentence certainly seems harsh compared to other crimes. But of course he represented himself. Big mistake. Proper representation, a little remorse and a sincere apology could have seen him treated far more leniently.

To be guilty of harassment/stalking, person X needs to target person Y on a number of occasions. Always liked Bellfield's shows even if I didn't always agree with his views. What this does show is that this country has forgotten what the word "justice" means. Yes he went a bit too far but should never have ended up in prison when we have young, violent thugs freely roaming our streets, destroying monuments, blocking roads, invading houses, stealing, looting and burning. All with the excuse of being "a minority". It may be the law, but it really isn't justice as they're two different things.

Imagine if Trump or Boris Johnson started claiming that the things journalists had written about them had made them want to take their own lives? New prisons would have to be built just to house the gentlemen of the press. It's also worth remembering that thousands of young men died defending our right to say whatever we want, freedom of speech, "I may not agree with what you say but I'll defend your right to say it". The last time I checked we still lived in a democracy, the United Kingdom, not Russia or North Korea, cases like this set a very dangerous precedent, if you were to have a falling out with a neighbour cases like this demonstrate that if that neighbour assaulted you if the police bothered to attend that neighbour MIGHT get 6 months in prison, but unlikely. However, if they showed that you had defamed them on Facebook or twitter you could get 6 years. When we went to the police about the bloke that stalked my wife we were told categorically that unless he actually carried his multiple threats to harm her there was absolutely nothing they could do no matter how much it affected her. The first codified part was sealed on the 15 June 1215 in Runnymede, it then goes on to consist of revisions and passed laws and traditions, this also contains how we were meant to be ruled. The practice of a jury was in place before the charter was signed as it was part of Anglo-Saxon Common law that derived from the commandments. For reasons of time and cost, and corruption, past governments changed how the process was done by allowing a Judge, who is actually a convenor to make the judgements without a Jury. This is how it breaks our Constitution. County courts and the Supreme Court, along with any court that doesn't allow a Jury are doing the same. It still is practised because people just don't care.

      @@lostintranslation1957 PART 2:
It is not about lack of care or corruption, but the natural development of our legal system to reflect changing times and a fairer approach to justice. Relevant legislation and the Criminal Procedure Rules now provide for the right to jury trial in specified cases. Civil cases are typically not subject to jury trial but their fairness is protected in other ways by the Civil Procedure Rules and legislation. Most importantly, a citizen's rights are also protected in both civil and criminal trials by Article 6 of the ECHR.
Lawyers have not destroyed the right to jury trial as you put it, but it has been a systematic development of the justice system by parliament in more recent times. Jury trial is actually undesirable in complex civil cases because they often involve technical issues that would be beyond any jury and instead are better presided over by a specialist judge. Criminal appeals are not subject to jury trial because they are of a different nature to trial at first instance and require specialist senior judges to consider the appeal, which is often based on the assessment of complex legal arguments for which a jury is not equipped to consider. Equally, the highest court in the land, the Supreme Court, does not hear jury trials, but is presided over by the most experienced judges in the land who have a wealth of expertise to deal with the complex issues before them. Just because something very long ago provided for jury trial does not make it good or fair in our present era.

The police were investigating him for cyber crime, thus the seizure of his tech equipment. Police don’t need to wear ID numbers when investigating certain types of crime. Belfield already knew this and lied about it to his followers in order to obtain sympathy and cash.

Vine goes out of his way to mess with people. I saw him once cycling slowly in the second lane. Other faster cyclists were keeping well to the left in the first lane. A car behind him pipped but he carried on, eventually the car undertook him. The vile Vine then complained to the Police about pipping and undertaking and got the car driver fined. All for his TV programme, and the BBC love him. He deliberately provokes people every day and yet gets away with it. I haven't met a single person that doesn't loathe Vine.
