ok i dont mean to be a negative nancy when it comes to the announcement they made, because i genuinely AM cautiously optimistic about them improving the quality of the game going forward. however, the point i always make is that if you look at the in game credits for City Living, that pack has like two pages minimum of QA testers listed on it. and since at least that pack, the amount of QA testers listed on each pack has gone down and down. so while i genuinely AM glad that they at least seem to be interested in improving the quality of the game going forward, i cant help but remember that they are now trying to correct a problem that THEY created for themselves when they stopped investing so much into QA testing in the first place...
I think it's a promise because they have more to lose. On the PR side of things (because for some reason, people act like they're not a whole triple A company - I've never seen such intense parasocial feelings for an entire company than I have for the Sims community), they're GOING to take the threat of potential money loss seriously. They could AFFORD to give us broken/inadequate/fewer things because that's what happens when a monopoly exists. In life sims, they ARE the conglomerate - it's not because they're "poor little devs struggling". They're a huge company with contracted, professional, skilled workers with years of experience who's job is to work on the games 40 hours a week minimum in order to live. They're not like indie devs. But now, more and more games are popping up, and as a business, seeing your fandom fiending to be able to leave you and stop buying your products is something they need to address. Not out of care for the people, but care for profits. It doesn't help that they're losing employees lately. Some ex-employees of Maxis are on board for at least 2 separate life sims. That's a LOT of experience going into their competitors. (Not fully disagreeing; just adding my opinion into the thread, I'm a yapper.)
The reease didn't say that they hired more and/or new people. It may be that they shuffled people around and made a dedicated team for bug fixes. Many SimGurus and other talents have gone silent in recent months or have shedded some titles. This could be another bandage to fix a leaking ship -- a new thing they'll try out for a year, disband and try something else a year later.
After the last few patches, some of which required emergency patches, I'm not even convinced they can fix bugs without breaking the game even more. I'll believe it when I see it.

The skills list does NOT stay in alphabetical order, that's the bug. Unfortunately, they wrote this laundry list so that some of the items are phrased as solutions to be implemented and some are phrased as problems to be fixed. Makes you wonder who's writing these things... or what their first language is.
In alphabetical order is how it SHOULD appear. There is also the option to sort by skill level. Currently, the order tend to get shuffled almost every times I consult the list. Not in alphabetical order, not in level order, not even in acquisition order, or reverse order. Random order.

it's strange how my two fav games I have a special interest in: Team Fortress 2 and The Sims 4 are really broken and the communities have had to basically protest to get the devs to fix, I am glad to see a response from the sims team but we should still hold them accountable until the game is in a much better state.
I literally thought it was April Fools when I saw the announcement. I hope they actually stick to their word and actually get these things fixed. But we shall see.
I think the six months part was them sort of saying that they hope to address most of the games major problems within that time frame. So hopefully after a six month time frame, the game won't be as chaotic as it is right now. I could be wrong though
This statement is basically a nothingburger with nothing sauce and extra nothing. The credibility of ea is basically nonexistent, due to the hard work they have put into utterly destroying their reputation. If, and that's a big IF, they manage to fix more and bigger bugs than they will add with their future packs, I shall not complain. But just announcing that they will doesn't mean one single thing.
EA fixing the bugs ? I'll believe that when I'll no longer need to have mods to work around and circumvent those bugs. Dishes left in corners ? How about those left on a table ? Or those left in the middle of counters ? If your family have 17 of more members, you can't split it as you are left with one having more than 8 Sims, and the OK button will stay greyed out. Sims swimming in the ground is something that I've seen happen before I even started playing The Sims4.
Really HOPE they MEAN what they SAY. Would be NICE to have some bug fixes for this broken game. I wonder HOW they do it. I mean the game is pretty messed up as is. So all I can say is, the BEST of Luck IF they CAN fix this game with all its buggy issues and other issues. Be NICE to be able to play a more playable game than un-playable. I can just barely play in my game as is due to all the buggs and other issues than have been caused over the years. Especially BAD updates too. So I HOPE they will check those out more too before sending them out going forward for this game. Keeping my fingers crossed. that this game really DOES get fixed. We'll just have to wait and see. Does anyone know if non cc rooms from the the gallery is being flagged as cc in game again? I used the tool mod to add some base game fruit for like a farmer's market build but downloaded it as a room from the gallery, and now I'm being flagged as using cc for my lot. I'm trying to go through everything, but it's frustrating. I know the non cc art work has this issue. Sometimes, it gets flagged sometimes not. Or could Tool be being flagged now? This would have to be a pretty recent issue, I think?
Fingers crossed. I haven't played the game in ages, the bugs finally were too much. I did open it the other day to do some building, but the stupid shopping cart was flashing at me, so I left in disgust. I hope they end up nuking that thing too. Or at least make it toggle-able in game settings.
There is a mod that remove that shopping cart : UI Cheat Extension. Even if you never use it's other functions, JUST that aspect make it very interesting.
@@Kualinar UI cheat expansion, dose not work to remove the flashing shopping cart. Other mods I have used are affecting mods I like to play my game with, so I have given up for now.
To me, they finally fought against EA. It’ll be nice to see the core is fixed. Yeah the gardening bug is so annoying. I love crystal creations, but the mc command center mod yelling me constantly is so annoying. 😂
I am skeptical but I am happy they adressed it this way. Also, we are getting a Laundry List every 2 months. So it is going to be somewhat large for the lists.
I've noticed the calendar and social bunny, and it's a bit annoying, but I think the calendar has some other issues I'd like fixed, such as all the high school stuff happening every week. Is the packs in the wrong order thing the new stuff packs? I thought that was an intentional change? Glad they're changing it back. I hope the performance issues are fixed or at least improved, but I'm cautiously optimistic right now. They need QA testers. You're right that I didn't know about the tourist icons. Surprised to see Dine Out mentioned. I've also not seen the main menu thing when playing online (I mostly play offline, and have done especially since the EA app stuff, as the only workaround I've found to keep Origin on Mac requires starting the game offline), but I do have a mod that alters its appearance too.
No? It’s just the one task that’s impossible to complete in that career if your sim happens to be a mermaid. If your sim is a human then you can do that task as normal

If they have actually hired staff for the bug fixes then these are likely on a fixed term basis, hence the six months. If this is really successful then I'm sure they'll extend that as appropriate.
I hate being negative but EA is a corporation. Nowhere do they hold themselves accountable or say quality assurance. Instead, they're stating the game will break MORE. Honestly, unless they make every broken DLC free. I'm not trying to hear it.

I didn't realize that the skills in alphabetical order was a bug. I thought it was just so it was easier for people to find a particular skill.

When I purchased Crystal Creations the accessories button in CAS kept highlighting gold even after I installed and I hope it isn't just me.
