Great review, Jens! That sort of info is good to have. I think the shoe shine boy might be worth it though. Long time no see, mate. I hope you're well. Cheers. 👍
Not at all, Neil! I removed the Hornet head and put it back into the bag. I need exactly that face for my dio, but I'll have to find a matching figure now. Take care, my friend
Oh, that's some valuable info, because I want to build two or three figures for the Nova! I'll watch out for reviews before I buy them. Thanks my friend! :) Jens
Nov. 30, 2018---Once again, thanks for the kit review and heck yes I'm goin' to buy a couple of 'em. Everyone's moaning about them being too short to use with regular 1/35th scale figures....balderdash. You guys are looking for gold in a silver mine. Can't wait to modify the kid by adding putty to his legs so he's wearing pants and not shorts. Not everyone's the same height...look at Audie Murphy. Or my youngest brother....he's 6' 2', I'm 5' 10" and younger brother is 5' 8". Anyway, still working on zombie/apocalypse dioramas and see a whole lot of potential in these figures. Modify them into civilians with the officer becomes a business man for example. Once the mods are done, make a silicone mold of the upper/lower torso's, then hello resin parts. Is the boy also undersized? Won't have many of these figures (2-3?) mixed in with 1/35th scale figures including those from the old Tamiya figure sets. This way not every man is exactly the same in height. Modifying their Japanese soldiers is NOT fun, but again, getting different people heights.
You were absolutely right if we armour modelers weren't all conditioned to expect figures of the same height on dios. I'm 1.85m and my girlfriend is 1.56m. That's a difference of almost 1', 8 or 9mm in 1/35. I saw a pic of the shortest and the tallest Wehrmacht soldier standing next to each other. A difference of 2'. But it looked strange on actual soldiers and it would look even stranger on a dio. The difference is too big to use them along with figures of other manufacturers. If you can use them that's fine. I'll have to think of a vignette on which I can use the three soldiers. The boy can be used for many scenes.
I have to check on the height of my 1/35 SS figures, at the start of the war you had to be 6'-4" to be in the SS. Does anyone know if there were any other height requirements for WW1 thru current. I know you use to have to be over 6' to be a police officer, especially a Statey in some places {not all of course}; and certain height maximums were in place for pilots at times too.
I don't know, but I'm almost sure that they didn't have any height requirements for the Wehrmacht infantry. There's a pic showing the tallest and the shortest soldier and the difference between them is at least 30 centimetres, about 1', and it looks strange to say the least. If you used two figures with such a big difference on one dio everybody would say that this can't be and that you made a mistake.
Indeed! Next to MasterBox and new Tamiya figures those of ICM are my favourite ones in styrene. Crisp details and realistic appearance. Now I'll have to find an alternative for an officer in this "master race" pose.
Oh yes, and there are a couple of their figures I'll use for the "Say Cheese" dio. The complete Eastern Peasants set and probably also the complete Operation Milkman set - at least two figures of that set. The sculpting of these figures is outstanding and the quality of the moulding is much better than that of MiniArt.
Disappointing but not uncommon, its frustrating when you are using multiple manufacturers but its insane when the same manufacturer has such variations :(

good job, best regards
Thank you very much! I just found your post in my spam folder. I don't understand how it could end up there! I'm sorry. Regards, my friend. :)
die hab ich auch noch wo rumliegen (waren bei irgendeinem bausatz mit dabei). gute studie!
Vielen Dank, Michael. Die Figuren sind wirklich nicht schlecht, sehen aber neben anderen ziemlich blöde aus.
I want to buy such a set. I have plans for a diorama with a boy
The set itself is wonderfully sculpted and the shoeshine boy looks very nice. If you don't use the soldiers along with others you'll be fine.
Well that is way off for sure, I find the same problem with 1/25 scale figures, :) Tom

Lilliput??!
Looks very much like it! :)
Disappointing the scales and sizes are so disproportionate. Useful info for anyone who might have been looking at this set
Thanks a lot, Mark. It's a shame, because the set is actually nice with crisp details. It's just the scale.

Maybe it can be streched by cutting out and re-filled.
Yes, maybe. I only haven't got the patience to do it. :)
I notice this with tamyia figures there alot smaller than dragon and mini arts
A scale of their own: 1/35K.
LOL! Yes, indeed! Thanks for watching, Forbes. :)
That's a shame bud would be a really nice figure if he was just a tiny bit bigger!

Non-Prolific 1/35th Scale Model Builder master box are my favourite. I especially like the heads/faces

Yes, indeed. I've got a couple of older Tamiya sets and I thought they could go together but they're taller than the ICM figures. :(
