Great speech. Thanks to your videos, my meditation practice has shot into space. I am experiencing what you describe. Being in everyday life, I am starting to be more of a consciousness than a personality and overthinking. “I see” my emotions, feelings and survival programs instead of diving into them and letting them take over. When I direct the light of consciousness at them, they dissolve without hurting my psyche. This has reduced my mental disorders by about 85% or even more.
Thanks for the detailed experience report. I too have become a fully realized Awakened human being by listening to David's teachings and at the same time doing self-inquiry which is a very powerful combination.
David help me overcome my addiction slowly. I’m eternally grateful for his teachings. The things that’s thinking and feeling isn’t real these things come and go and I don’t have to indulge in them. Taking a breath in and focusing on the body while keeping my mind blank has changed me even though I can only do it in small moments. But during urges they don’t consume me.
Great talk. One huge impact of my meditation practice over the years is that my heart has been blown wide open. I often weep at the suffering of total Strangers without necessarily suffering myself or making it about me. My capacity for compassion w difficult people is high, I love openly and freely, and my life goals have shifted from personal accomplishments to how best I can serve others.
The aspects that aren't aligned with truth subside and die, allowing the traits of Being to emerge in its place. Empathy, compassion, love. Try being hyper aware of the evil doers around us and being able to see them for the One that they are. Beings lost in the sauce. It's a great way to test Empathy. Getting to a place of compassion is real work
It is not a paradox but limitation of language. What if I would say that the light of your soul out shines your personality. That is exactly the same thing what he said.
Amazing clarity. David had a way of getting people out of the sauce and into observation mode, or base reality. The benefits of sexual chasity or even advanced tantra would be great discussion material. Discharging energy through orgasm appears to really power up the personality and give it super powers at hijacking the awareness control panel lol. But seriously. It would be a great series of practical connections for people to make and benefit from. Also, as a married person, I can attest to the fact that these particular practices are rarely met with open arms. Haha. Navigating the personality waters of someone you love dearly makes for lots of creative challenges. I hope the playful spirit of my comment reflects the truth. Be well dear friends
My wife who has been burdened by extreme anxiety and depression and trauma gets extremely defensive when you mention that her personality isn’t real and it’s torturing you. But she can’t see it any other way. She can’t even imagine what it would be like to not have the mind constantly working and Constantly trying to control everything. She just says that’s the way she is. Idk how else to show her. I stopped letting my personality try to control everything and accept life for what it is. But then it’s met with that I don’t care about anything lol. I think it’s easier to find a person that’s more like me than it is change someone to realize the truth.
@@jonathandiaz754 the kind of self awareness you're trying to describe to her takes a lot of steps for a person to see. The feminine identity is 100% tied to endless mental gymnastics and the body. I was getting up from a morning meditation a couple years ago and as I did the truth of the ego or the ego lies dissolved from my conscience. I guess. Because the truth that we aren't the personality or the experience's or the name or the accomplishments became glaringly apparent. I actually felt embarrassed that I ever believed in it at all. As if there were a few beings around me watching my response to this truth. It was a life changing moment. So now I try to notice how I'm still giving the personality more time than I should. It's a life long process I guess.
Buckle up. It's a long ride. I started meditation at 19 in 1990. 4 years ago was when I finally had the first true idea that the personality is smoke and bullshit. That was a lot of years lol. Friendships help the journey. Keep at it no matter what. The personality loves to hijack the awareness control panel Recognizing it is huge, so don't look at them as failures, see them as the practice they are. Be well!
@@HellaKwik thank you. Right, when I had that kensho experience it seemed like it was so obvious and why didn't I see this before? Truly now that I'm writing this I get the sense of how much of a gift that knowledge is. May God's love and goodness fill your heart
In the same boat as you. David did say that we will still have to use the personality to be able to operate in this world like in social situations for example. But other than that the personality isn't needed. When I'm at home or not interacting socially my mind is so very quiet and hardly any thoughts. I still get thoughts which is natural but they are few and far between. 🧘♀️🙏👍✌️❤️
@@thepresentmoment369 yes same for me. Actually I've kinda forgotten what it's like to be tortured from an insane monkey mind. I'm thankful to God for that. Question: How much time in a day do you meditate?
If meditation is to wear out the personality so that it cant keep going...is that something stress can do for us as well? When someone has a "mental breakdown" is that the personality not being able to continue? I suspect that some people are able to use that to wake up, and some people just get back on the treadmill.
Meditation is not to wear out the personality. Extended retreats do this in which the context is to sit through mental states and see what is always here. Stress is ongoing tension and contraction in a condition of survival programming. This hurts the body over time and shortens the life span.
"If anybody is suffering then you are suffering". Then even an enlightened person suffers. I have a hard time here because i see and feel a lot of suffering of other beings. But you just said that even a bhodisatva suffers. So then we will all suffer until nothing suffers? i was afraid of this. 😕
Is traditional religious belief a form of conditioning of the personality from ego?, I've spoken to many people and this seems to be the case. They can't see past the paradox of the mind, it's natural state and self realization. They're still resorting to default programing.
5:15 this is why permission slips are needed for most people so that the body and mind can be engage in something that it thinks will allow it to experience th a real truth.

Same here!!! I really noticed it a few days after fully becoming Awakened. It's the most peculiar thing to experience. The old saying, the eyes are the windows to the Soul, is so true.
Regarding meditation, the two most important words are relaxation and retreat. Relaxation is actually the opposite of doing so you are letting go of all the things that you are doing internally. That is relaxation. Retreat is something similar. Because you are retreating within yourself. You are pulling your attention back to the ground of being. If you just understands these two things all further lecturing is unnecessary.

Are you simultaneously experiencing increased awareness during your sleep? A good indicator is if you remember more of your dreams.
