We're Eric & Allison and we're on a journey to find the most interesting places and unique foods this planet has to offer! We've traded in our steady paychecks and permanent home for a life of travel and adventure. Come along and see the world with us!
I think Allison should do a niche travel workout series on this channel. I find it admirable that she takes such great care of herself no matter the setting. I also think it’d be kind of interesting to see the setup of the workouts in all the unique places you guys end up staying at. I’m sure those who travel as much as you two would appreciate something like that!
You two really do your research! Chicken parmie, chips and salad down at Byron Bay - beauty mate.
Even pronounced Brisbane right!
Glad your see you are having a great time, thanks for the vid.
yeah good call mate
Eric, the videos from the drone were awesome. What a beautiful area to visit.
"...the meat has a greenish tint to it."
Famous last words by the thousands of people that died before refrigeration. :-)
🤣🤣
I would've left that ALONE
Kangaroo is a very lean meat
The animals, insects, reptiles, sea creatures in Australia are abundant and invariably larger than most places! I also discovered that cockroaches over there aren’t just larger but they fly also which freaked me out no end!! I love Australia and whilst some of their wildlife is cute and cuddly looking most of it terrified me😂😂😂
I really worry about Allison's tendency to drag her fingertips along virtually everything as she walks. Cave walls, fences, rock faces next to trails, walls of buildings-- both inside and out. It's simply too dangerous to do that in Oz! Practically every spider, insect, reptile and amphibian in Australia is venomous! Even the category-resistant duck billed platypus males have venom sacs in their hind feet, but their babies are the cutest things in the whole world.
Almost all roaches fly, just fyi.
Loved the video as always, you guys are just so chill and awesome. My fav people to watch travel the world 💜
Aww, thanks so much! We're so happy to have you adventuring with us 💗
Wow, Australia looks amazing. Scenery is stunning! I am enjoying your vlogs showcasing this country!🦘🥰
Also, if you're up for a bit of a climb, you can walk to the top of Mt Warning (the mountain you can see from Byron). If you get there for sunrise, it's the first place in Australia that the sun hits. It's stunning!
From A former Hawaii resident - surfing requires strong upper body strenth as well as good balance. Practice does make perfect!
Oh it's for sure an upper body workout - yowza! 💪We both loved our first lesson though! We're excited to hopefully try it again soon :)
When it comes to ‘Barramundi,’ ask if it’s local. Many restaurants cut costs by importing it, which you might as well buy a frozen box of tasteless fish from the supermarket. Last time we travelled through Queensland’s Sunshine Coast, we were surprised at the amount of fish and chip shops that imported their fish.
You guys have inspired me to want to travel the world. Amazing content, thank you😊
Australian here. The parma (parm-ah) is a classic, glad you got one. An oversized breaded fried chicken breast topped with ham, sauce and cheese on a bed of chips. It's got all your critical food groups. Must be consumed with beer. Note, you will be severely judged if you don't finish it all.
Wow, great cinematography! Love the Bats. What a sound they make. Beautiful ways of showing the weather. Kangaroo looks delicious.
1:46 Travel Beans be proud of that one, Eric
Alex is 100% responsible for that one 🤙😂
.....oh.....Kangaroo?!? wholly crap balls Batman ! really ?!? I HAD NO IDEA KANGAROO WAS CONSUMED BY HUMANS DOWN UNDAH. WOW. Thanks For sharing and educating us all !!
"You guys are both adorable and delicious!", she said and I fell off my chair laughing!
Good one!
Chris Hemsworth lives in Byron bay when he is not making any movie
I still wince when Eric tries a new adventure. Harkening back to him busting his butt last (?) year and being in pain for so long afterwards... Too bad the GoPro died before the surf lesson ended. Still, it was epic seeing Allison ride a wave in on her feet! Nice to finish the day with a couple of local brews.
the quality of your videos improved insanely in the past year! well done!
Amy Leefts it’s all sponsored now. The downside to it is that it’s basically scripted and inauthentic in comparison to what was before.
@@afcgeo882 it gets the point across and it makes me want to visit the place, so for me at least, they pretty much nailed it
I made Kangaroo tacos once which were nice and the Parmy is probably the most popular pub dish. Btw parmy is South Australian and Parma is everywhere else 😂
I live in NSW but my partner and I have adopted parmy as it sounds better 😂
@@Lauren1oxox agreed it does sound better haha
Wish you would visit us in Perth and the west coast.... maybe do a fan catch up. That would be awesome!
The sharks like Byron Bay as well! 😂
The chicken Parmo is very similar to that served in the north east of England , it's a local speciality !
Wonderful opening title! Nice work!
Argh man! That's our HOME!!! That parmy is making me drool SO BAD. Haven't found anything that comes close since we've been here in the UK! If you want the prime example for Australian fine dining, make sure you get to a Bunnings on a Saturday for their sausage sizzle (for charity). Seriously nothing more Australian you can do. Also, if you keep an eye out around dusk (6pm-ish) you might see the bats flying in a huge flock. It's pretty stunning! 😍 Missing home so much right now! Top video!
Beyond Your Doorstep have you been to the north east of England? Parmos are very popular up here 😊
@@oonaghhind8309 North East? As in Newcastle? We live near Doncaster, and Lincoln. Only place we've seen Parmys are at the Walkabout pubs, but we actually haven't tried one there. There's a few Aussie pubs in London too, but we didn't go to them when we lived down there. You got any tips for cool places to see around Yorkshire?
FUN TIMES !! Great video once again you two !! Thanks for sharing your adventures !
a very warm welcome to Australia, adventurers! much love from Brisbane, home of the best breakfast cafes ;)
The adventure vlog wouldn't be complete until Eric got injured 😂 great vlog once again guys
I think the bats are adorable !!!! They’re one of my favorite animals!
They're definitely starting to grow on us. Watching them up in the trees was so cool! They're super unique little creatures 🦇
What’s for lunch tomorrow deep fried koala ? Seriously I never knew they ate kangaroos sounds awful to be honest 😝
That's a horrible attitude, and a horrible way to live your life. A kangaroo is no different than a cow or a chicken. It's just another animal, and the meat is delicious. I suspect you're going to miss out on a lot of life, and a lot of adventure, with your attitude. When time starts running out, you'll curse yourself for all the things you didn't do or try, not for the things you did do and try, even if you didn't like them or the result. At least you'll kn9ow you tried.
And how on earth can you not know they eat kangaroo in Australia? Or in many other countries?
James Ritchie as far as I’m aware kangaroos are native to Australia so if anyone is eating them I’d think it would be you guys 🙈 people are not queuing around the block in London Paris or New York to get they daily fix of tasty marsupials , as far as regretting not trying certain foods some things are not eaten in the civilised world that practice ended with the cave men 😜 but it appears not all the world as caught up , as Oscar Wilde once said about fox hunting ( its the unspeakable chasing the inedible)
Good job on standing on the surfboard at first try. Not many can really do it at first. Also dining in at the Byron Bay is a great choice
Aussies eat both animal species on their coat of arms, the kangaroo and the emu! Our bald eagles are thankful we don’t eat them but protect them instead! LOL
I prefer my kangaroo ALIVE :::::::
Went surfing a few years back in Spain and it was soo much harder than expected. Allison did great!
Loving your channel. You all came up in my feeds the other night and I have been binge watching you. This is my first comment.
Kangaroo is delicious, you have to have rare or it’s tough, chicken Parmey is an Aussie pub classic; we love it
Great Vlog guys! Byron Bay is my favourite holiday spot in Australia. You didn't run into Chris Hemsworth (Thor) in Byron Bay? He lives there!
Yummo! Parma & chips! ... great pub food. I like and hate Kangaroo thou. Can be too rich and gamey for me. Loving your classy Australian videos. Enjoy my homeland!
Ive been to Byron Bay I live in Adelaide, Australia it’s awesome its my favourite place to be
Enjoyed when you were in NZ and Australia looks cool also :)
love byron bay great video again guys great adventure you guys rock
Man alive! Those bats are huge! They sound like a bunch of kids throwing a tantrum lol!
You have to try emu and crocodile too! Barramundi is delicious 😊
Great video..love the drone footage
What I can’t understand is.. how’s possible that you guys don’t have MILLIONS of subscribers???
Your video are Awseome and super fun to watch, also full of great tips!
🤩🤩
Byron Bay is a beautiful place 😍 home to great music festivals also. Agree that kangaroo is definitely best eaten medium rare as it's very low in fat content. Chicken parmy is the best and there are so many variations of toppings to enjoy 😋
Hi Guys welcome to Australia. I live on the north side of Brisbane and one place you should definitely check out for food is Beefys Pies. They are a classic Australian style pie as opposed to the New Zealand style pies you’ve already tried which are also delicious. If you are going up the Pacific Highway there is a place called Wild Horse Mountain which is worth a climb because of the unique view of the Glasshouse Mountains. Down the bottom is a service station with a bunch of shops and there is a Beefys pie shop located there. There is also a Texas BBQ place run by some lovely Texans you should drop in and say hello to. I hope the Airlie Beach is on your list as you make your way up the coast because it is amazing. Safe travels and I look forward to your videos 😊👍
Haha, I love the music 😄. I tried to surf for weeks one summer and only genuinely got up once. I did the same victory stance in the ONE pic I have of me successfully surfing haha!
Haha, nice! I don't think I'll ever stop doing that victory dance when I get up, no matter how good I get at surfing 🤣
I'm never bored by your fun episodes. Always a joy, especially the Foodies parts. Thanks for sharing :)
i love how eric calls Alison "kid." It's old timey and cute.
Kangaroo is delicious. To get it the most tender, you marinate it overnight in olive oil and whatever seasoning you want. But the best of the best is wallaby. It's illegal to hunt them, unlike kangaroos which are a pest in some areas due to cattle stations pumping water which made their numbers explode. But in some parts of Tasmania, like Flinders Island where they've been introduced, there are too many of them, so they cull a number of them every year, and are sold to markets in Tassie and Melbourne. You should try all the different fish you can, not just barramundi. Pink ling is especially delicious, or blue crabs.
Hey man, you brought in a whole different term for surf and turf lololol. Good show thank you.
Those bats are just the cutest!
Kangaroo is an extremely lean meat, at around 3%fat. Flying foxes are very cute up close and you're in no danger unless you suddenly turn into a piece of fruit 😂. Byron is ok but a little too touristy for me. Brunswick heads is more appealing to me. So glad you guys are having fun in oz
Lovely adventure here in Australia, you guys! 😉👍
This places looks beautiful
lol i never knew that aussiet eat kangaroos !!! that was a new information !! enjoyed this video !!
Cool video Adventurers! The flying fox bats are the biggest bats! That was cool that you actually seen some.
I live near Byron! If only I started watching your vids before today! I would have shown you Nimbin and all of the epic waterfalls in the area! Plus some amazing local food places. Next time.
Is there anyplace in the English speaking world where fries (chips) aren’t served as a side? LOL
No. No, I don't think so. AS IT SHOULD BE.
Probably not, but in Glasgow, Scotland (known for its awful deep-fried food), chips/fries are known as a 'Glasgow Salad'.
I once ordered fish & chips with salad from the restaurant menu in the USA and the chips were the packet variety (crisps) not fries.
Harry Betteridge What we Americans call potato chips are your crisps. I would have told that place to give me fries ! What a rip-off! Sorry about that!
Canada serves chips with gravy and cheese. Aka poutine which can often be served as the main dish, not sure if that counts.
I enjoy kangaroos when they're alive not in my plate.
I'm in shock ! Kangaroo guys ! Really :'( ?!? I guess that is a thang Down-under....
@@MrThomasandersen But don’t you think lambs are adorable too? It’s just that we tend to shy away from food we’re not used to.
@@ynys_mon6928 I didn’t mention about any kangaroo being adorable... BUT of course they all are... just like all animals on this planet, except a few human beings... NOT adorable at all, some of those I have met in my 53 years alive 🥺😠
Therefore I of course don’t feast on any flesh of any adorable lambs or any other animal... why should I ? There is no need nor any logic, to continue on with this self destruction, by continuing this self torture, by killing and eating your own best friends... this lamb might as well have been your own dog or your own kitty cat 🐱 Or are there
some good old "barbaric” reasons, that nobody wants to admit to actually exists? 🤔
Go in peace and continue your guest visit here on Earth as if. ... it was all yours 🌍 ♥️
@@MrThomasandersen I love animals too, and I do think we eat too much meat by far...not good ecologically. But I prefer to eat meat occasionally, respecting the life of the animal. At least it had a life.
Surf lessons were on my Hawaii bucket list, so I tried it a couple of years ago on Kauai. Definitely a workout, and definitely worth it! I never was able to stand up, but I say it still counts lol Lots of fun.
Chicken Parma is my fave thing!! I’m glad you are enjoying your trip!
That kangaroo looks a lot like venison.
Done well kangaroo is nice, but if you get the chance try crocodile. And lots of Australias seafood like the giant prawns and morton bay bugs and rock lobsters and oysters and some of our fish like barramundi and whiting and shark and mulloway
you did byron bay dirty. the greatest town in the southern hemisphere, please go back there!!
Beautiful clear video.. been enjoying your vlog for a few weeks now.. love you guys
Roo Bolognese and burgers are great, just tastes extra beefy and ppl don't believe me often when I say its's roo
Can't believe you thought the bats sounded horrible!! I Love It 😍😍 and you have to try kangaroo Burgers! They're delish
Great video as always guys love the channel , alison is adorable.Keep up the great work :) xx
Look on this little guy...this is Eric!
Hey Endless Adventure, Welcome to Melbourne from a friendly australian
Coles supermarket sells Kanga Bangers (sausage) and meat balls. Very yummy. I am in Darwin right now. So looking for Croc and camel burgers.
Kangaroo is quality meat, super lean at only 2% fat and high in protein. I've only tried kangaroo once, as a plain meat patty in a burger... i didnt like it, too "gamey" flavoured for my liking, my friend loved it though. It would've been better with a nice sauce like yours. Also makes excellent dog food.
Those large bats are commonly known as “flying foxes” or “fruit bAts” and exist all over AZ, Asia, India, etc - they aren’t bloodsucking vampire bats fortunately!
How could you eat kangaroo while there?
I am in Woolgoolga at this very moment! The locals call it Woopi (Woop-ee).
Kangaroo is one of the, if not THE leanest red meat you can get a d us AMAZING in a chilli!!
Lols - cute and delicious 😋 I hope you enjoy my home town of Brisvegas
That's like a cross between chicken parmesan and chicken cordon blue.
We are in Coffs Harbour right now and are going to learn how to surf at spot x next week too! ^-^
Right behind you at our trip :D
I prefer beef parmi over chicken. Not all places add the ham either, no where local to me does. I'll pass on the kangaroo though, doesn't feel right to me to eat our native animals :)
Kangaroo is great but must be served rare (as a steak) or it becomes too tough. But kangaroo burgers (home made) are awesome and can be done more to a medium if you like.
This looked so much fun! I can’t swim so I’d be stuffed for the surfing! 🏄♀️ but it looked so much fun, the little bay reminded me of summer bay the fictional one that’s on the Australian tv show Home & Away! 😂 we also have the chicken parmo here in the uk in the north actually, but I’ve never had one. So I’m gunna try and get one hahah! Looking forward to your next vlog!
Love Kangaroo! The first time I had it was in Jerky form which was okay (didn't taste any different from Beef Jerky but with a bit more of a gamey musky taste. But the last time I was in Australia I had it with a Green Peppercorn sauce and it was to DIE FOR! Better than any Beef Filet or Sirloin
Great video
Welcome to Brisbane 😊 hope you enjoy your time here 😊
adorable and delicious lolz!!! :) great vid guys i love it, went to Sydney and Newcastle a few years back and loved it! and your going to Brisbane next! Woohoo!! my brother lives there and cant wait to see it, keep it up you two 10/10! :)
Skippy side dish .... :)
I live in Australia (Gold Coast) and can say I've never had Kangaroo. So you have done better then me haha!
Love your vids, something invariably goes wrong lol but that's part of the fun.
I hope Eric’s toe is improving. Safe travels.
Thanks! It's still purple, but at least it doesn't hurt anymore 👍
I'd recommend a good steak( I like it done medium rare) with chips & salad with a schooner or 3 of Tooheys New or Carlton Draught.
Australian Parma is VERY similar (but not as nice) as the Middlesbrough (UK) Parmesan. You are more than welcome to come try it anytime.
Looks very similar to the chicken parmo we have in north east England, really surprising to hear its in Australia too!
Similar. Chicken parmo has a creamy bechamel sauce and no ham.
Hi Eric and Allison! If you want to learn surfing and prefer personal trainers you should visit Siargao island in the Philippines. Warm climate and good surfing waves all year round and it now has a sizable expat community. It's been voted as one of the best islands in the world. I hope you pay a visit before it gets too touristy.
Incredible views! Chicken wins. I tried kangaroo, it was like century-old beef with stingy blood smell.
Loving your adventure guys...please know that Kangaroo is not eaten by 99% of Australians.
Do they eat cows?
@@liz8343 Kangaroo meat makes me jumpy so I go to the udder one for some beef. We love to eat lamb or go the whole hog and put some pork on our fork.
Roo is great meat. Love it. Prefer Roo Loin, seared and medium rare. Try Crocodile while you are here, another of my favourites.
Enjoy the rest trip can wait see rest of your videos
Sorry watching late, kangaroo is very lean, it either needs to be cooked fast on high heat and on the rare side, or low and slow, I prefer low and slow personally.
