05:04 Dude, it is a blue LEGO brick they hide in! This perfectly recreates the film, almost. At this point they’ve already met and befriended Anty (the ant) and are taking refuge for the night inside the Lego brick (one of Nick’s legos, the younger kid with the glasses). When they are attacked by a scorpion and Anty defends them! So really it could do with a big scorpion build too! 06:57 Not sure it’s gonna be a licensing issue….they’ve already done ET as a dimensions figure. 🤷
I love the top 3! I agree about the Goonies ship - I was SO looking forward to the D&D set and very disappointed with what they did. I think the Thundercats would be perfect because of the size - there are too many massively expensive sets for adults out and this one looks more reasonable than what Goonies would cost (though, it is a master piece). I absolutely LOVE the first Bob Ross with all of the color - I think LEGO needs to do both THundercats and Bob Ross
Wow some cool submissions, I really only collect castle and maybe pirates things but the only one I think I would consider getting is the thunder cats... that is super cool (the goonies are nice, and I do like it, but looks to be very expensive set) the only problem is that there is no snarf and needs some bad guys for context.
I don't know if they're chosen already, but understanding how LEGO values it's sets and saleability, most of these will be ignored or entirely changed. Such as the Smurf Village or Bill&Ted Mall, are people serious with those designs? Do they know how Lego sell sets? The most youd get for Bill&Ted would be the phone booth in large scale, and the best Smurf one would be a singular house diorama. The contenders for genuine selection I pitch are: A Goonies ship (boat only with minifigs) in the 200-300$ range. A Bob Ross 3D painting like Van Gogh as shown in the video. An ET display piece of the bike scene (this may be a flat artwork style like the new Gotham set). Something with Labrynth. These are only 4 picks but all high value IPs with great nostalgia for the general public as well as niche Lego fans. The cult films and iconic looking sets will do the best to target adult geeks with expendable income. I always feel like there's just a minor 5% of adult Lego fans voting for the sets that give them the most pieces for their City or Castle MOC and aren't actually thinking in terms of a product to sell in stores to someone's Aunt who may only have 2 Lego Botanical sets but is obsessed with ET. That's how LEGO sell.
My favourite is Labrynth, closely followed by both the Goonies and I do love the Willow one, but yes, with the current lion knights / medieval village, I doubt it!
I didn't expect to see any I like, but the #1 Goonies set is stunning. I need to have one of those in my live. The thunder cats car is fun too (looks nexo knightish ) I presume they are delaying because they couldn't finalize the talks for the franchises in time ...
I'd pick Princess Bride ahead of Thundercats, purely on that I am a huge fan of PB and not at all of TC, but aside from that, your opinions seem close to mine. Goonies looks a goer and if it doesn't win I'd be tempted to MOC it up myself if I had infinite money.
Thanks for featuring my Bill & Ted set! As far as I know this is the first time I’ve had a challenge entry reviewed. 😅 If anyone sees this; would also of course appreciate if you consider supporting my active product idea, the Shannara airship.
@@Stud-Lord i posted the link and it kinda seems like UA-cam hid or deleted it? Should be easy enough to find though - currently the only submission if you search for “Shannara”
"Well, let's find out...(sad music)". Could some time traveler from the future post what the 5 picks will be in the comments? Please time travelers? Take a break from killing baby Hitler and just do this one thing. EDIT: Time traveling back from the future. It was "Thundercats, Ho..me Alone". They mashed up two great ideas and made them into one.
I really hope it'll be the Goonies one (either is cool to me honestly because I just love that movie so much). While I absolutely love the Thundercats minifigs, that vehicle does nothing for me and it would definitely up the price by a lot. Lastly, if Lego would redesign the space winnebago from Spaceballs (because I agree with you; the design as it stands right now, is not up to Lego standards), I'd absolutely love to see that set too.
Yeah spaceballs would have been fun but not as that design is imo. I think both goonies and thundercats would be great choices but which is a hard choice lol
Thundercats would be awesome. I would definitely buy that one.
Defo
I have a HUGE feeling it will either be Goonies or Thundercats.
🤞🏻
@@Stud-Lord Goonies was way better. Umm thunder cats are not compatible with Lego.
@@vilhamdutch2962 why not? with custom molded heads would be way cooler minis.
as an 80's kid those are the only 2 I would consider getting but if they could round out the thunder cats with some bad guys and snarf would be 100%
You can display the "The Goonies" one with a mirror backplate to enjoy both sides simultaneously.
What a beautifully designed set. Amazing creativity!
Good point - and that way I’d see my reflection too which makes it even better.
Modesty prevents me from saying anything further…

Was it actually a Lego brick? That’s cool. Like I said years since I’ve seen it. I remember being really sad about the ant being attacked lol
its kind of perfect retro nostalgia set for lego with the lego reference... but I would want them to make thundercats
Im hoping for the Goonies, but I still can’t believe that the A-Team van hasn’t been done by Lego, such an iconic vehicle.
'ello! ColonelCandy here! Huge thank you for the compliments on my Jim Henson's Labyrinth project, it's super appreciated!!!
Love the Bob Ross…more than his actual paintings. Lovely set.
Yeah, I like it a lot, really nicely done
First Bob Ross, The Goonies, Thundercats, and Honey I shrunk the Kids are winners for me!
I know, hard to pick an overall

Yeah there have been a lot of high priced ones recently. I do like those 3 a lot. Not long now until we find out!
Thanks a lot for the review :)). I am the designer of the goonies (1985) really appreciate it your comments.
No problem. Thank you for designing it, awesome 🙌

Sounds like you need to watch more Studio Ghibli films! They are all fantastic.
I think I do, clearly missed out
Love lego ideas. Can you do a prediction video of what you expect will be picked in next reviews?
Excited for the Jaws set etc!
That's the plan 👍

Fair enough. Yeah a moc would be good. I think one’s not chosen should have the chance to sell instructions
Labyrinth is my favourite!
You are fast becoming my favourite Lego you tuber.
Thank you, that’s very nice 👍
I love that goonies set as well. The only issue I see with it is the size alone. It would be very expensive.
'ello! ColonelCandy here! HUGE thank you for the compliments on my Jim Henson's Labyrinth entry, it's super appreciated!!!
Absolute pleasure! It’s brilliant and I’d like to see it in the 5 that go to the vote. Great job 👍

Goodies would be nice
So happy to see ghibli films represented! Especially Castle in the Sky! Also, fingers crossed we will get a Bowie mini figure.
I need to watch some, I’ve missed out. But yeah Labyrinth I think is awesome 🙌
Hey you guys!!!
Thundercats 100%
Thundercats HO!
Is it bad if want almost all
Of these.
Haha snap. I would like a dangerous amount of them
Somethings afoot at the circle K

THESE ARE TERRIBLE except the goodies obviously. WTH
Goonies or Bob Ross, others I don't like. Tho I wouldn't buy any of them, sadly.
