Eric, I am really enjoying your videos. My PB steelhead is 0. Never caught one. But I'm in the middle of moving to the UP near Escanaba, and I want to learn. Fishing is different in MN, where I'm moving from. The Great Lakes are going to be an adventure! I really appreciate how you show exactly what you are doing! It will give me a little more confidence for my first trip out!
28 in. 2 ft around chrome female full of eggs. Euclid watershed Cleveland. Palm size crome spoon red eye maroon tail on 5th cast . The spoon belonged to my uncle was in navy who died in 69. Caught 2008
Great video Eric! My personal best steelie is a 16.6 pound buck swinging a stone fly on my 10' 7wt Orvis. I will be moving to the racine kenosha area in a month and all I do is fish and hunt. My wife also just bought me a brand new Tracker Super guide V16. Just finished building it. I pick it up from Bass pro in Gurnee IL in 2 week's I'm pumped. I'll see you out there buddy. Thanks for all the tips. Wisconsin trout and salmon fishing tactics are a little different then Michigan. You've definitely helped. Thanks again and tight lines.🤙
Nice video thanks for sharing. Spinners been working on the Lakers as well. I was throwing a slender chatterbait blade 2 weeks back got the same result! Heck I've thought I've fished a tube everyway imaginable gotta try it under a bobber now!
Eric awesome vid, appreciate the advice and info how can I book you for a guided trip though I’d love to learn more in depth on the big pond steelhead fishery my man, awesome video though!
Are they good eating? I'm probably going to go for the southern Milwaukee trib and then probably a couple of Racine Rivers ever eat the steelhead that come out of there? smoking or baking?
Releasing 10lbs and up is a great idea. And you can catch a fresh silver fish anytime of the run. Now is pretty much the best time to get out for them.
You said it was pretty cold out and I noticed your using braided line. Do you ever have issues freezing up? Or will you switch to Mano? Or do you keep with braid and use a line conditioner?
Are those fish suspended in the current or sticking to some structure? Im familiar with float fishing further upstream in the spring but don’t know much about staged fish this time of year. Nice vid as usual
Your sushi idea isn't half bad...I've been out fishing and run out of bait/spawn sacks and have had to improvise. You'd be surprised what you can catch a fish on when you forget or run out of bait...candy, marshmallows, part of a PB&J sandwich.

Thanks best of luck with your new boat. 16 lb steelhead is a tank especially on a fly
I do appreciate the way you treat the fish on the release. Classy . Boat does look like a land mine went off somewhere near the steering wheel.

Sweet video! No salt no steel tho.
Great job!
Sometimes when I'm eating sushi rolls like that I wonder if the herring roe would work in spawn sacs. The colour is great!
Pb steelhead is 22lbs out of Port Washington 2 years ago

Also you can tie on a small amount of tinsel on your jig hook then put the tube on. Add a waxie or two, twitch pause twitch pause 6 lbs fluro carbon

Just INSANE!!! 🎣
Almost that time again! On a mission to get trout eggs!
Are they good eating? I'm probably going to go for the southern Milwaukee trib and then probably a couple of Racine Rivers ever eat the steelhead that come out of there? smoking or baking?
Yea they are great now because they just migrate in from the lake and the meat quality is still great
@@wibigfishcom Even the 8 to 10 Pounders? I plan to release everything above 10 lb but are they still good at late December?
Go catch some walleye or perch to eat. Steelhead dont even taste that good. Let em go.

@@adamsmith3996 some people like trout and salmon better🤷🏻♂️
You said it was pretty cold out and I noticed your using braided line. Do you ever have issues freezing up? Or will you switch to Mano? Or do you keep with braid and use a line conditioner?
Yes definitely braid sucks when it’s below 30 degrees and I stick with mono
Brownie eggs are the absolute best for steelhead.
What is your casting setup ?
7’ medium action spinning rod with 15 lb suffix braid with 12 -14 fluro carbon leader
What kinda of spinners you r using?
Blu Fox vibrax
What brand/size spinning reel are u using??
#3 Blu Fox Spinner
Are those fish suspended in the current or sticking to some structure? Im familiar with float fishing further upstream in the spring but don’t know much about staged fish this time of year. Nice vid as usual
Yes almost all the ones I’m catching are 4-8 feet down
What type line and pound test do you use for steelhead? Love your video's!
15 braid suffix and 12 fluro carbon leader

The amount of clutter and chaos in the boat might have been yours and Perric's downfall in 39 hours. Crazy awesome video though 🔨
What do mean I just cleaned my boat… you should see it when it’s dirty!😂
I’ve been steelheading for about one year and my pb is 12 lbs

Everyone knows trout love avocado.
Do you think they prefer hot or mild?
The trout would most definitely not enjoy avocado
