Man....I've been listening to Kristin's music for over 20 years now....and it just keeps getting better. The older stuff gets better with age....and the newer stuff continues to impress. Being a long-time fan and reading Rat Girl, it felt like the reader got to be in on the inside jokes. Without trying to sound TOO corny...being a fan of Kristin's music has felt like a truly organic experience. It seems to mean different things to different people...but we all seem to "get it" in our own way.
Tears are streaming down my face as I remember how much I love Kristin Hersh. The only band I flew 3,000 miles to see was Throwing Muses. It was worth it. I get to see her electric trio open for Pixies next week.
"...I know music is as close to religion as I'll ever get..." Thank you for reading my mind, expressing it poetically, and more importantly for existing on this planet Kristin! You are amazing! I love you and your music! Best wishes now and forever!
LOVE IT!Paradoxical Undressing.is one of the best stories I have ever read. What a lovely and fascinating woman she is💚Her existence makes this universe infinitely better.I wish I could hug her
I absolutely love this video. I have just started reading paradoxical undressing. Having been a Kristin fan since Hips and Makers its obvious I'm loving the book, but I'm loving it a hellavu lot more than I had anticipated. Thank you Kristin for your songs and words.
Throwing Muses are the greatest musical group in the history of the world, and Kristin Hersh is the greatest singer/songwriter/musician I never was, but always dreamed of being, so blow her a kiss! 😘
I love love love love love love love love love love love Kristin!!! She always inspires me, makes me cry, laugh, everything....xoxoxoxo great short film! we want more!!
I am speechless...yet I have to say SOMETHING...Beautiful piece! Maybe a great introduction to genius; surely a fine introduction to Kristen. Thank you so much. Fantastic work.
Another reader (and fan for a couple years) chiming in here... To say I loved reading this book would be an understatement - it captured me for well over a week. I'm not exactly used to a *book* doing that. Thought-provoking, deeply human, and plain hilarious in spots. (That "chalky pink goo" episode is too funny.) Brilliant idea. Still lug it along all the time in case I feel like reading on the train. I bet a film version could be pretty good, though making it would probably be a nightmare...
The narration is so damn powerful...I saw Throwing Muses at Athens Popfest in October, and it makes me wish that you'd done more speaking in between songs.
This is such a beautiful video. It's great to see some of the places your wrote about in the book. You described Providence so vividly and in such a romantically unromantic way...if that makes sense.
I've been a lifelong fan, and I spend so much time lost in your book that I could probably recite it! I can't thank you enough for providing so much of my life's soundtrack. I'm curious, is the building shown with the words "The Doghouse" actually the Doghouse? And are any of the places shown Napoleon's? I just like the idea of putting an image with the words.
thanks to you guys for these beautiful comments...i so appreciate the time, attention and caring.

I am so grateful for this music. I don't like to think about who I would be without it.
Extraordinary! The venting, yes, I felt every inch of that, so human

My first Throwing Muses concert was late 80’s in Philadelphia. I feel I’ve grown and changed along with Kristen and Tonya.
I love that girl
This is fun. Thanks Kristin.

I love this so much! It reminds me of The Grotto....Hot sweaty summer drunky at 3am on Sunday morn when I just can't sleep and I need to listen...
Stunning 💜 xx
This is great!

Kristin, I hate that line about, "nobody likes us much." LOVE you. LOVE your music.

Sweet! I loved this!
I also like the way Kristin's narration leads into "Flooding"...
I want a gig in Lisbon, damnit!
