When I want to escape our present insulting streaming shows, I watch Dick Cavett. Respectful, entertaining, tongue in cheek, a truly great host.

Robin was truly one of a kind and amazing human being. Not many actors have such unique personality and passion as Robin had.

Being British, growing up in 90s I only knew Cavett for his guest turn in Cheers. Past few years seen a great many vids on here. Great interviewer and wit.

Miss you! I think of the movie What Dreams May Come, maybe sometime in time I can catch one of his shows and make us souls laugh as he truly laughs with us.

I hate to say this out loud, BUT, Robin Williams was never one of my favorite comedians, not by a long shot. He was always “too all over the place” for me. Half of the time he was out of his mind, either coked up and I believe he had some sort of mental issue that made him so hyper that, I really couldn’t focus because he could not focus on any one thing for more than a few seconds. He was all over the place. However I did appreciate him in more serious roles. In my opinion, that’s where he would really shine. When he wasn’t being obnoxious, when he wasn’t again, not to be repetitive, all over the place. When he could concentrate on one thought for a solid minute. He was fantastic in goodwill hunting, patch Adams, good morning Vietnam, I think there were a few others but that’s where, I think he did his best work. I just couldn’t keep up with him and I found it frustrating and annoying and sadly, he was never one of my favorites, but, I am very sad about what happened in his life. As they say the “tears of a clown”. And it’s often times, and too many times true, that those who hide behind laughter, are often the most tortured of souls. Rest in peace Robin. 🙏🙏🙏🙏💔💔💔🙏💔🙏

mr. williams will NEVER wear out a welcome to my eyes... knowing what we know know about robin's timeline and the date of this show... we can say that perhaps both were a bit... 'wired'

He was a very good actor if overly sentimental. As a comic he was certainly a force of nature but none of it is actually funny, it's just an onslaught of stuff
