The fact that every one of them has a debuff for their friend Floppa but *only one* implies the fact there was a singular Floppa above the rest that they all revered.

Have opposing ideologies: One where eating without a table is a massive taboo and another where eating without a table is an awesome sign of how rugged and self-sufficient you are. These two ideologies each hate each other with a passion.
I would suggest: 1. Start with no packaged survival meals, instead have lots of rice or something along with components and steel. 2. Forbid all food except nutrient paste. 3. Build a nutrient paste dispenser, a source of power like wood fired generator, and lots of tables and chairs. 4. The colonists can now only eat nutrient paste which can only come from the dispenser next to their tables.

Create a zone that prevents your pawns travelling more than 30 tiles from a table. Assign all pawns to the zone. Expand the zone as you add more tables. Also, there is a mod that let's you see the table radius. Also, make sure you have enough chairs, or the overflow dies...
There should be a parasite mod one day. Imagine a random colonist transforming into a giant bug or some kind of alien figure, slowly consuming your colony from the inside.
There was a xenomorph mod which I'm pretty sure did that. Alpha Animals has a bug that gives a deadly infection that kills them and makes their corpse into another. The bug is not big though
Alpha animals has a wanderer event that looks like a normal colonist, them turns into a mime and tries to kill people! It's impossible to tell if it's a normal person or not
Dude, my colonists have a PURE GOLD dining room with MASTERWORK JADE STATUES surrounding the table, RIGHT NEXT TO THE FRIDGE! and still seem to prefer to eat inside the fridge.
There's a mod that lets you set the radius for how far the table will draw pawns to it. It's manageable via a slider on each table's info and works perfectly.

The reason trade caravans die is because the land is cursed, it's not that eating without a table will kill you everywhere. It's only land that you, a rimworld player set eyes upon. To these people they just enter your sight and try to have a meal and drop dead to which their companions have no clue as to what happened.
This makes it impossible to treat serious injuries, since the colonist won’t be able to get to a table they’ll either starve or die when a doctor tries to feed them
Best part is, if you somehow get an injury that doesn't kill you but renders you unconscious, someone has to tend to you medically, and feed you, WITHOUT A TABLE... A truly doomed colony
IIRC there's some way to keep colonists from taking meals into their inventory. It probably requires a mod, one I think I have but forgot to set up this particular aspect. It's probably funnier this way, though. I think they won't hoard nutrient paste, since it isn't normally stored anywhere for them to pick up, and they won't carry things that aren't "meals," either, with the likely exception of pemmican. I doubt they'd carry around kibble, even though it's in that same category of "(non-raw) food item which is not a meal."

So couldn't you be rather sweaty about this? make a dummy world and find out the radius of which a pawn looks for a Table and then spam one down at that title spacing and call it a day? as well as restrict them to an self sufficient area

you need a table every 60 blocks to kinda guarantee that they eat at one
The next update better add "Eating without table" as an option in Ideology and have its only option as "Abhorrent"
