DPS Hellcat Gets Into Pursuit With High Speed Motorcycle

INCIDENT DATE/TIME: 4-19-23 / Around 12:30 am
LOCATION: 9206 Campbell Rd
CITY: Houston
DETAILS:
HPD units observed two motorcycles driving recklessly on the southbound North Freeway.
Officers attempted to stop those motorcycles but a pursuit ensued.
Both motorcycles led officers on a pursuit before the split off.
One motorcycle rider pulled over and gave up near Katy freeway and Bingle Rd.
The other rider was traveling at speeds greater then 170 mph.
He was able to make it to Baytown and stop for gas before taking off.
DPS and HPD helicopters tracked the suspect.
A DPS Dodge Hell Cat assisted in the pursuit. He was able to keep up but lost him several times due to speeds.
Eventually the suspect dropped the bike while pulling into a driveway on Campbell.
The suspect then fled on foot and officers believe he made it to his house.
The two suspects are believe to be in their early 20’s.
Chase lasted over an hour.
Investigation is on going.
