    What type of videos do you typically edit? Let me know!

    3:04 Pressing "T" will make your life easier (and your editing faster). Give it a try if you haven't found that out yet. Also, when you delete a selected clip, the timeline should automatically merge with the other clip (l don't know why yours doesn't) 3:12 A friend of mine swears for the "Speed Editor" but l personally think it's not for me. Thanks for taking the time to make the video!

    Great demonstration of all the features and how to use it.
    I enjoyed this video so much better than that other guy who kept rambling on camera how he couldn't find proper instructions on how to use it (turns out it was in Chapter 49 of the Reference Manual).

    The fact that it is delivered with DVR Studio makes me hesitate a lot. I mean, I don't need it that much, but it seems very comfortable and optimized as well. And yeah for portability it seems even better than my MX Keys (full size), which I still use for my desktop so no waste in any mean. Still hasitating, but I might give it a shot. It depends on how fast I'll be able to have a BM camera (which also includes DVR Studio, which I begin to really need).
    Great review anyway ! Thanks

      I won’t buy it because I chose the Fujifilm XH2, but maybe in a year when I’ll have the money to have two cameras…

    An alternative or substitute for Speed Editor may be Goodkeypad

  • @ArielTavori
    @ArielTavori Рік тому +5

    Love Resolve and my speed editor, but it's baffling that you can't ripple trim start/end to playhead (q/e in most software). You can custom map q/e on your normal keyboard to this function but the speed editor still takes 2 keystrokes and the wheel to do what a single press of q or e can do on your regular keyboard. Why they refuse to let you remap buttons on the editor is beyond reasoning. Also would be really nice if they added HUI or OSC support to allow it to be used with other software (i.e music production) like has been standard with other brands for many years. I find the closed eco-system quite infantilizing, disrespectful and counter-productive.

    How do you do that if you press RIPL DEL you delete the clip below playhead and both clips on the left and right side connect automaticaly together. If I press RIPL DEL I get a empty gap between clips and I have to drag and connect them with mouse.

      Ah man sorry to hear that :/One trick I found super helpful even when I don't use the speed editor is keyboard customization! just search "keyboard customization" in the help tab above, and configure your B key to blade, and make Q and W Start to Playhead and End to Playhead. This will basically make your keyboard a mini speed editor I've actually been using those keys a ton

    Nice video bro! How did you link your external audio with your video so that it’s being cut as well?

    • @victor.melchorfilm
      @victor.melchorfilm  7 місяців тому +1

      Thanks Aaron! Once you toss your video clip in with the lavalier audio file, select both items right click and you can sync audio by waveform. After that delete the scratch audio, and link your lav audio with video clip then you’re good to go!

      I don't agree - the build quality feels pretty good. The only thing missing is clutch on the jog wheel. I've been using it for about 6 months. I haven't noticed the separation of the top and bottom sections. That doesn't sound good.

    A great video, thank you. I'm wondering if you can use the speed editor in conjunction with the new easier way to create favourites from in and out points, do you know if this is possible? The reason I ask is sometimes I don't want to dump all of my footage on the timeline, I want to select the call parts in a favourites and then order those in a way that will make better sense and work better than perhaps the order that dumping on the timeline would create. I appreciate you're a busy boy, but if you know about this new favourites functionality, I'd welcome your thoughts.

But what you did with the jog wheel and buttons I do with J, K, L and I edit with I, O, P (ripple delete clip/section) as those keys are right above j k l and such shortcuts
