- You have finally made it to my favorite Volume of the show, you're in for a real treat. - Ironwood's beard is indeed magnificent, it also makes rewatching the show a bit jarring with him clean-shaven. - I really love the look of Mantle, it gives me a ton of video game vibes, especially with that Half-Life like blinding flash robot. - The fights this Volume are really next-level, especially Qrow's movements. - Duped ya! Penny's back, with a great new design, and great new theme music. The most observant of us could already tell since we've actually seen Pietro briefly before, in Volume 3 when Penny died, we see a shot of him reacting back in Atlas. - Yup, the Ace Ops are based on various Aesop fables, it's a pretty clever name and allusions for a team imo. - This is also my favorite OP of the show, probably because of just how anime it is. I also love the sequence of team RWBY transitioning through their old outfits to the new ones. - Watts was the one who did all the hacking for the Fall of Beacon plot. I forget if there's an explicit confirmation scene earlier, but you could see a cursive 'W' on Cinder's scroll when she did the tech stuff, we know Watts made Tyrian's new cybernetic tail, and Raven called him a "disgraced Atlas scientist". - I'm glad you reacted more positively to Jaune's new haircut than most of the fandom (myself included). It's grown on me and most of the others by now, but when we first saw it, there were a ton of jokes made about it (banana hair, chad hair, etc.). - This Volume is a lot prettier than previous ones, agreed. I'm not sure actually what technical things changed that made it so, it's probably a combination of multiple things. - The embargo was put into place at the beginning of Volume 4 Weiss' story. Since RWBY timelines are a bit fague, I can't tell you exactly how long it's been, but it's less than a year. - Spider-Chair, Spider-Chair, does whatever a spider can, and also everything a chair can. - I feel like an idiot for not realizing you theme your shirts, that's pretty cool. Also something to look out for in the future. - Someone would still need to know Jinn's name for the lamp to work, and only Oz and the team know that, so they're safe from that. - Oscar does work for continuing the team name JNPR, since his last name is Pine. But fans have also called them team ORNJ.
Blake's always had a little bit of purple in her design; it's interesting to me that Blake & Yang together share the color motifs of the Gods of Dark and Light respectively.
Fun fact, 'The Ace Ops' sounding like 'Aesop's' is completely intentional. Following the usual RWBY theme of characters based off of fairy tales/mythology/etc, all of the members of the group are based off of Aesop's Fables
The haircut you mentioned as the "lesbian haircut" is actually nicknamed the _"bisexual haircut"_ from memory - and in case you're wondering, Blake's voice actress _(who is openly bi herself)_ *did* confirm between Volume 6 and Volume 7 that Blake is indeed bisexual.

Rebuilding her body was never a problem, but what happened to her aura/soul when she was torn apart and shut down? How was that brought back? Until you have an explanation for that, Penny's return is still pretty mysterious.

The fall of beacon happened during the Vytal festival which was held during autumn and Team RNJR left Vale during winter. When we arrive in Mistral it seems to be around spring/summer so it probably is around middle to end of summer. It´s hard to tell exactly since they travel through different climate zones.
