When you lean to hard and drag the kickstand so hard it bends the bracket into the case ,this helps pass the waiting for parts time . Over zealous sportster activities.

hey how does a lonely biker with no biker friends/coworkers get involved in a group ride or a bike meet? None of my buddies ride and none of my coworkers ride either, and I dont have relatives that ride but i want to just jump into a ride to somewhere with a bunch of strangers!

Well, this is the age of social media, so it's not as hard as you think. Just look up some local groups that might be doing a charity benefit, and make a point to go. Often, their benefit will include a group ride. And even if they don't...well...you'll meet people who do. Then you just got to keep in touch. As for joining a club, that's hardly necessary, but if you want to, go right ahead. On the topic of "harley riders might not like my sport bike" well...some don't. We call them assholes. Most group rides really don't care what you ride, as long as you DO ride. I've even been on a group ride where one of the guys was in a custom built dune buggy. 4 wheels, a Volkswagon engine, roll cage....nobody cared. We all loved looking at it. We just made a point to have him ride "tail" ( very back of the group. The very front being "point" ). Not out of embarrassment or exclusion, mind you. A LOT of group rides involve a "chaser truck" that is meant to protect the riders from other cars, by being much more visible, and if they happen to get rear-ended, it's usually a lot less damage done. A slam to a 4 wheeled "cager" ( any car that fully encloses the occupants ) is far more survivable than to a bike. So his dune buggy made a real nice chaser truck for the group, while still feeling like one of the riders. Don't be afraid to show up to a group ride that's open to the public. Most of us will welcome you with open arms. Anyone who doesn't, can fuck off.
andrew dreyer if you feel comfortable on it go for it. If you think you’re gonna fuck up start out on something else. I started out on an 883 and they are pretty top heavy to be little bikes and I was fine. Mainly parking lot speeds is what gets you. A bike balances itself at a good enough speed
Not sure about first bike. I got a 2016 Street Bob Special (drag bars, alloy wheels & passenger seat). It was my first Harley, but had been riding about 45 years. Gotta say that I absolutely love the cruise mode and forward pegs! Really feel in control and king of the road. Especially with my V&H short shots!
Went to a dealership to find what bikes I thought were comfortable and the street bob is my bike the only thing I'd have to change are moving the controls forward

The power wont be much of an issue compared to handling. Its a heavy bike. its best to learn on a 500$ dirtbike and wreck it than this bike
