Ohh god. I must say this one is an OUTSTANDING video about Japan. The shot, the composition and especially the sound. It's not just a travel video with some pop/rock music slap on and destroy the whole vibe but very spot on choice of music, sound effect and original sound. (the Japanese voice at the beginning is worth to mention too) Video is about the combination of watch and hear and you nailed it beautifully. You deserve more subscribers for your state of art my friend.
Thanks for not f---ing up the contrast when colour grading. A lot of youtubers do great disservice to their source material by going for 'moods' and 'film looks' that never look like the actual thing.
this is genuinely one of the best short films I've seen so far on UA-cam. I'm heading to Japan in a few months and I'm definitely taking some notes of inspiration from this!
Seriously, I haven't seen such great film using sigma 28-70mm. I thought it was inadequate for quality shooting, but i have changed my mind. Great work man.
@@sensualistisch No, I think it's optically great, even at f/2.8. I also like how the bokeh looks (not busy). The Sigma 18-50mm f/2.8 (for aps-c) and this one are my favorite lenses.
You need to give us tutorials and how you shoot! I really like your videos, im buying the Sony A6700 with the Sigma 18-50mm 2.8 and I really like to do cinematic videos. I really like your style with music/background sounds/slow pace shift to fast paced. Keep it up! Makes me really happy to see what you can pull of with that camera and the lens because you straight up kill it.
Thanks! The shot at 0:06 and the orbiting slow shutter shots at 1:37 were shot by my friend on the Sony a7sIII with the Sigma 24-70mm f/2.8 on the DJI RS3 gimbal. Everything else is shot handheld on the Sony a7IV with the Sigma 28-70mm f/2.8.
The biggest difference will be the dynamic range. It will be lower with more contrast in s-cinetone. But if you don't enjoy color grading, it can be a good option.
Very good video. So many cities and there is so much to photograph in each. How did you manage to put everything together in 4 minutes? I've been shooting with the A7CII for a while now, and in just one of the listed cities I have at least 2-3 hours of raw material to edit. 😉
Thanks! For me, it helps to tell a little story or pick a certain theme to create some boundaries, get more creative and make editing more focused. Also music is a big inspiration for my edits. This can also create some direction. But most importantly is to just start and trust your intuition. :)
I use 'Neutral' Phantom Lut to convert the footage to rec709 and often use KDX lut around 30% as a creative look. I'm planning to make a color grading video to go into more detail about my process.
Hi. Ziet er echt heel goed uit. Je kan echt zien dat de A74 een absurd grote dynamic range heeft. Welke nd filter heb je gebruikt? En chapeau voor de montage ook.
I use it manually. With enough light I leave the ISO at 800 (base ISO). In low light I leave it at ISO 3200 (2nd base ISO). This will make sure you have the most dynamic range and less noise. Only in very extreme situation I will bump the ISO higher, but I try to avoid it.
@KaspervanDijk ohhh i understanddd more now. Im really thankful for your advice. Just starting out so just getting to know my gear and how to use it correctly for the best results. Thank you Kasper!

Thank you! I really like the light weight for a full frame f2.8 zoom lens. It's quite versatile when you don't need to shoot very wide.
Was there any noticeable optical issue using this lens?

which transitions?
@@marcob2759 Oh sorry I used the wrong term. I meant the cuts. I think there was one dissolve transition in the whole video lol.

Beautifully captured, edited and sound design is also top notch. Which profile picture did you used for the night shots ? ( From A7IV user 😁 )
Thank you! Everything is shot in SLOG3. The daytime shots with ISO 800 and most of the low light shots with ISO 3200 (second base ISO).
Were any other lenses used besides de 28-70 sigma? Beautiful video

Amazing! Can I get the same quality using s cinetone?

❤❤❤,,nice video, do you use nd filter for this lens?
Yes, i used the Urth VND 2-32 filter
@@KaspervanDijk thanks for the info, always inspiring

Want to buy the Sony A74

Thanks! Ik gebruikte Urth 2-32 Variable ND filter
Thanks! I used the Sigma 28-70mm f/2.8
Hey Kasper, just wondering if you're using auto ISO? Or are you changing ISO for each shot? Thanks in adv.
