I'm wondering if it might be worth adding some sort of tail on the back, kinda like what Dantomkia has. When your wheels have more grip, I feel like it might go nose-up under quick acceleration. So something to keep it on the ground might be a quick solution if that happens. You could probably use a 3D printed bit to do that. Make it thick enough to have an effect, but thin enough so it can flex.
Yeah not a bad idea. Once I get a bit more grip on the wheels I'll see how it performs and then will give it a go if needle and if I can fit it in the weight limit!
@@OrangeDoseOverJuice That's why i think a thin strip of plastic would do the job, if it turns out to be an issue of course. Nothing complex to blow the weight budget, and easy enough to have spares of for when it inevitably gets torn off. But enough to keep it from wheelie-ing all the time. Then again, you might have enough weight on the front to keep it nose-down anyway. We'll wait and see I guess.
I love the robot. But it does look like those wheels are slipping and skidding. One thing I’ve learned is to cover the treads with a small coating of liquid latex. You can use a brush or sponge and it makes the tires so much better at getting a grip and pushing others around. Also, it’s cheap. A single liquid latex jar (roughly 7-8oz) is less than $10, and lasts a long time, since you only need a little bit.
Thanks for the tip man, really good shout - the self amalgamating tape worked ok before but yeah I think you're spot on with a bit of liquid latex to give it that extra grip it needs. Unfortunately I won't be able to get any before the event so fingers crossed it manages ok for now!
@@OrangeDoseOverJuice You can get liquid latex at any Halloween or Costume shop. Look for “Liquid Latex Fashions”. They have solid 4oz containers, more than enough to last for years. They’re available just about anywhere.
@@teamgetwreckedcombatrobots776 Thanks! I should probably focus slightly less on the visuals and more on making it effective tbh but I am pleased with the look :p
This was awesome! Looks great with the new upgrades, colour and weapon. The tentacle arms reminded me of Sting from series 3. Great job man, hope it does well in the event!
That looks amazing and the lifting arm are cool. I really like the tentacle idea but there is a bunch of moving bits that could easily be broken so I think the lifting arms was a right call
@@JoeBrown1 Thanks man :) I’ll have another look at tentacles for the next one (might not build it on a time budget! :p ). See you then - can’t wait! :D
Love the creativity with the 'tentacle' idea, shame they could be refined in time. I hope it performed well today and I'll be looking forward to facing off against it in the future. I want REVENGE!
@@FaithfulMC Ha! Yeaaaah it didn’t do brilliantly in its first fight tbh but managed to bodge a solution and it was fine for the rest of the fights. Will definitely be revising that position on my next build though! :p
Dude this is amazing love the upgrades love the new set up best of luck at the event can't wait to see how it gets on
Cheers! As long as it manages some entertaining fights then I'll be happy :)

Thanks, and yeah it was worth a go but it definitely was breaking the rule of keeping it as simple as possible.
100%. But full marks for trying something new regardless!
