I had this set of speakers in my old car powered by a RF t200x2ad, sounded amazing! I’ve recently picked up another pair, looking forward to be mounting two pairs of these in the summer car!
Great
I generally leave it in the off position.
Hi Vince , I did a blind buy on these as I got a great deal! The tweeters are 35mm now voice coil 28mm. I hope I will love them. I hear they are very warm. Too warm and not enough sparkle I wonder? I can’t wait to hear them installed. I will be putting dynomat extreme and 1” of vibro closed cell phone behind the speaker area in door. I hear these have some crazy mid bass. They seem very sensitive. I hope my 75’watts will power them ok. Thanks for the great video as always.
No problem!
They must have changed the design somewhat. The set I have has octagonal mesh on the tweeter and the crossover instead of plexi.
They have been this way for a number of years.
@@lancesautovlog no I’m an idiot I have the 165.3 not the 1650
Lance, thoughts on the Hertz Mille vs Audison Voce?
I still have my New 2009 Mille set I got from you back in Newport in the box. Never got to install them 😂
Millie are still my favorite.
Hello dear Lance ...I ve watched your videos and they are really good...I would like please your advise...I recently bought these speakers Hertz 1650.3 and i m playing with an Audison Voce amplifier and my sound is a little bit dry, empty and the tweeters sound a little crunchy...I asked my installer in which frequencies he cut the mid woofer and he told me at about 120 hz...i find it a little high, what do you thing?i do miss the kick to my door...can i get it lower without mixing the frequencies and have clean sound?and what are the best frequencies for the tweeter to have a clean sound, because it sounds a bit dry...My regards my friend..!!!
Good day,
The Hertz 1650.3 are awesome speakers. I’m not sure if your run the system active, but the tweeters shouldn’t sound crunchy. It sounds like there is something wrong with them or the crossover point is too low. I would be interested in knowing what they are crossed over at.
As far as your mid bass or mid woofer is concerned, I would do 80 hZ @ 24dB linkizriley to start. Then go lower if the door can support it. (ie sound deaden).
@@lancesautovlogHello dear friend...I Installed them about 10 days ago and the installer told me that the mid bass is cut at 120 hz maybe that s why i feel my sound empty,i think i shoud go lower about 80hz...but how about the tweeters?what frequencies should i use there?above 2,5 -3 kz?What do you think? My regards..!!!
@@giopap512 2500@24dB linkswizriley would be the lowest.
@@lancesautovlog thank you very much dear friend..!!!
@@lancesautovlog Dear Lance one more question please...Inside the crossovers of the mlk 1650.3 there is a button that says HI BOOST and i think it refers to the tweeters...this should be on or off?Thank you very much..!!!
I recently picked up a 3 way set of Mille Legends for my 2018 ram. So far I've made some plexi 6x9" to 6.5 inch adapters as well as some abs adapters for the mids to fit in the stock dash location. I was thinking of putting the tweets in the sail panels. I'm curious what you think about tweeter location? Love your vids, thanks for em!
It’s not a bad location. I try to keep the a mid range speaker as close as possible to the tweeter, especially when I’m not doing a active setup.
@@lancesautovlog Thanks!
what is better there Hertz, or Focal M?
That’s a great question. The Focal M tweeter is brighter, but not harsh on the ear. The Hertz Millie Legend is soft and smooth.
They are both pretty awesome. The Focal M is considerable more expensive and handle more power.
