    Hey Adam! We use RSR about 90% of the time. We will use RSR0001 as our Main program. Inside of that we will have "IF" statements. IF DI[1] =ON Call Pick IF DI[2] =ON Call Place and so on. RSR0002 is Maintenance and RSR0003 is Our Home Program

    It's the humor that drives home the lesson. The "robot love notes" and "the secret sauce" help me remember what I learned.

      I love it, I have watched this video multiple times and just caught his reference joke at 0:38.

    I have a a set up with 2 different workstations on either side of the robot attached to 2 motorized turntables. Used both rsr and pns. 001 for 1 side and 002 for the other. Run remotely with some external switches. Inside the rsr/pns i call a "side" or whichever workstation im using and inside that program i call whatever is actually the production program, that way the program can still be named something unique and descriptive and to switch jobs its just changing a single call

      That is a beautiful strategy, and easy for someone to read/follow! Thanks for commenting!

    hello thanks for your efforts make such awesome video. I used Roboguide and AB PLC to test this but ran in to a small problem, some of the signal in UI not getting ON (in TP signal status is not changing) even if I turn them ON from PLC. For example Enable signal UI 8. I could see TP error message showing "ENBL signal from UOP is lost" when I turn it off from PLC and error is cleared when I turn it ON. But the signal remains GREEN in TP no matter if I turn it ON or OFF. Its also happening for Start signal UI6 and UI18 (They remain RED even if I turn it on from PLC). Have you ever faced this problem ? Could you please suggest a solution?
    Its also same for Program selection bits, UI 9 to UI16 they simply don't change color no matter ON or OFF from PLC, But I could call RSR programs using them but not STYLE programs. Thanks.

    One thing you didn't mention is that you can only have the 8 RSRs, but the PNS acts as a binary, so you have to turn on PNS1 and PNS2 to run PNS0003. And being binary, you could possibly call 255 PNS programs.

    love your videos but I am watching from phone (long drive) sometimes its hard to read tp on screen. Also could you do a video on i/o mapping to plc ladder logic if you haven't already ? great videos! thank you!

      Thanks for the note - yeah it's hard to do a full screen capture to show robot and TP and still keep it legible. I'll experiment with different ways to scale up the TP screen.
      In the meantime, here is my video on mapping I/O to your PLC, enjoy! ua-cam.com/video/bkGQ0kCXv8E/v-deo.html

      Great video Adam 👌🏻👍🏻. A video where you show how the I/O mapping to plc ladder logic works and how we can code the plc such that robot programs can be changes/selected from HMI would be a great video and helpful to all the beginners.

      @@pavitrashah that would be awesome!

      @@pavitrashah Thanks so much! and also to @Jd Boone, thank you. I dropped a couple screenshots of the setup into my "FANUC to Rockwell PLC" video showing the controller tags, but I'm a little tied down not having an RSLogix License on this PC to show actual PLC programming. If I can get my hands on a trial, or student version, etc., I will most definitely take a deeper dive into the PLC world as well.
      Let me know if you have any recommendations on how to get Rockwell software free/cheap!

    • @pavitrashah
      @pavitrashah 2 роки тому

      @@AdamWillea It seems like Rockwell doesn't offer a student version of their software. But I might suggest you use software like CodeSys or Delta's ISPsoft or other free plc software so it can be easier for your students to follow and practice themselves. And if you need to get a student licence of any software please let me know, I might be able to help you with that.

    Hello Adam, which are the videos where you explain about the Shell Work Commands?

    • @AdamWillea
      @AdamWillea  2 роки тому +2

      I actually cover 3 different ways of program calls in one video, but starting around the 21min mark of this one it shows Shell Work setup: ua-cam.com/video/bkGQ0kCXv8E/v-deo.html
      Thanks!

    Earlier in the video you mentioned that this is antiquated way to communicate with PLC, do you mean both RSR and PNS?

    • @AdamWillea
      @AdamWillea  2 роки тому +1

      I shouldn't really judge any particular method - these are all great ways to start a robot. Both PNS and RSR have been around forever - so they are "old" but still very reliable.

    this question is not for this Video. have robot p200 and replace it with p250. have over 300 styles to play back with original programs. have a conversation from fanuc but to TCP is not the same knowing adjusting Userfram would ajustment too Userfram be helpful or need to get this new robot to playback.

    Hi. Nice video, good explanation. One question, in RSR list do programs have to be run in sequence? Can you run RSR 2 without first running RSR1? Thanks.
