Bring the elbow closer to your body. 00:55 Correct demo of using wrist plus forearm maintaining elbow height. 02:24 Bend wrist after swing to flip the racquet. (if no wrist then slicing happens as arm comes down) 03:21 Arm is going down which increases recovery time.
That's good improvement as guided by the coach. Dont be like the other korean coach in youtube that his student got a strong backhand, but still got mistakes on the swinging, the power etc, blablablabla. I am from Malaysia and I have joined intermediate semi-pro badminton players since 2018. I joined badminton drills since 2014. Good luck on your coaching coach. Support from 🇲🇾
Ya the English translation is very good for the international enthusiasts. Thank you very much for the effort. Even if its not too accurate, Google translated will be good. But I know Google translate does get kinda wonky. The elbow close to body is very different from what others teach in UA-cam. I will try it during my next session. Training is tough and costly. Fighting.
Thankyou bigminton and trainer. I actually tried the elbow close to me today and it instantly improved my backhand. I hope you keep uploading and translating to english. I am Bigminton fan! It will be great if you could put CC subtitles on your first video :) Keep up the good work
I'm glad that you found it helpful! Thank you. Actually I'll thinking adding English subtitles to the previous videos, but I have to tell you that it will take time because there are some other videos I'm working on. So please wait!😃😃
Like others, I have no idea how I discovered this channel, but absolutely love the videos, the coach, the demonstration and the energy! Thanks so much.
achieving precise shuttle contact and power from the backhand side is always an interesting problem because 1) the biomechanics of the joints and range of motion from backhand side is different than forehand side, and 2) the muscle strength and speed is also different. there are many approaches to the backhand, and most try to recreate the forehand mechanics, but this is not always successful for reasons 1 and 2 given above. the other way is to understand the backhand is never a perfect substitute for the forehand and will always be more limited in its reach, power, control, etc.. but still useful. the coach's approach here is like this. he understands the backhand is not a forehand, and keeping the elbow close to the body is a good way of compensating for the inherent biomechanical weakness of the backhand. i'm going to practice his method and come back to this video several times and see how it works for me. thank you to the teacher and the student for the good lessons
Hello, I would like to ask the correct force process for backhand backcourt shots? Where is the correct actual force? Thanks for sharing your teaching, it's great👍
Thank you very much Coach for teaching the backhand shot using a different approach to explain on the preparation technique. Certainly much easier to understand and instantly notice so much more power can be generated at my command. I notice each time before you start to execute your backhand swing, while elbow is close to ribs, you will bend your wrist a little extra to allow the racquet head tilt forward and then only you bring the racquet head tilt backwards and start to raise your elbow to swing. Is this wrist action part of focusing where it happens as soon as you got the shuttle hitting target locked on?
If only coaching of this level isn't super overpriced in the US. I would absolutely love to have had such coaching when I was younger, Average cost per HOUR is about 60 USD in Cali. I hope it's cheaper where you're at in Korea, you have great form btw.

Good lesson. Many coach has miss to explain elbow close to the body for powerful hit 👍
thank you!
This is the first video of your's that I'm watching and I subscribed instantly. Kudos and keep up the good work🤩🤩🤩✌️
GOOD !!!
very nice lesson. hope you can upload more tutorials
Thank you!

the subtitle make me stay here and subs it 👍🏼 and i want to learn how to play role on double player
such a good tip on the elbow! thank you!
very thank you for your video, it changes my backhand

Awesome technique for backhand 👍

What's the racket name and model both of you guys?
Agree coach, your elbow must close to ur body for beginner. For pro, they do it in their way coz their techniques are good and their wrist are strong.
Thank you for the subtitle 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
