- David Pawson says, though these letters were addressed to individuals, they were all about the churches they were trying to help, and these were quite different. Titus, in Crete, had the task of appointing elders and Paul’s concern was about the quality of membership there; whereas in Ephesus, the membership was good but they had the wrong elders and Timothy was given the task of replacing them with the right men. The important thing at the beginning of a fellowship is to have quality leadership and membership before numbers expand. David says that confrontation is an important part of church leadership. If you neglect a problem, it just gets worse. Ultimately, the best safeguard of a church is constant good teaching. With the Spirit and the Word of God, you grow up. With a plurality of leaders, they will contribute more strengths and balance each other out much better, whereas one man will communicate his own strengths and weaknesses to the church he leads because people do follow unconsciously a leader’s manner of living, rather than what he says. Character is of prime importance. This teaching can help us in choosing those to serve our churches.

I am a Christian. I am 39 years old. I think David pawson is a very good bible teacher. So far I haven't come across such a great teacher.

25:28 amen. indulging in any kind of speculation is vain. but it is most destructive within the body of jesus. also, time is of essence and god will hold us accountable for how we use this gift.
God may hold the sheperd responsible for the flock but at the same time the flock will be punished for bad faith. Because jesus said, be careful you do not ruin your faith by false teachers. I think thats what was said more or less. Please tell me otherwise...

I'm a woman and have no issue of not being an elder, or being able to preach and taking my proper place. Submitting to my unbelieving husband, that's another story lol I need grace every day for that one. I wish there were more strong and God fearing leading men in the Church. It's the culture we live in men are down trodden even in the Church. There's a reason God put it in this order and a good one at that it starts with Eve. My personal opinion is they muddled up there is no male or female in Christ. Yes that's true but not at this present stage we're still in our flesh/body. We're not like Jesus YET!
I have a question : We need to respect older christian. Then if someone is 30 yo but christian from 12 years and another christian is 60yo but christian from 1 year. Whom needs to respect whom in this case ?
The letters of Paul are clear that we should respect older people. They have experience of life no matter how long they have been christians. That does not mean a 30 year old Christian should not be respected, An elder person should be respected because of their age, a younger person should be respected by the depth of their faith (and wisdom) both of which are God given to those who ask
The number of years one has been a christian is not as important as the depth of relationship one has with Jesus. I have met people who claim to have been christians all of their lives and are very shallow in their faith and knowledge of God

@ One good example here is Elihu speaking to Job and correcting the older men for incorrectly speaking about God. Job 32:8 for the specific example

I have a question, for the widows if they have kids, but they themselves are able body, but choose not to work, should the believing kids help their widow mother?

24:44 well, jesus clearly declared heaven is made for such as these. and declared strong condemnation of those who mess up with them. yes, there is such thing as age of accountability. it is not a silly question and is comforting to let them know what jesus said, and debunk the false doctrine and practice of infant baptism.
31:15 deception is from lack of knowledge of truth. each of us have the responsibility to love and seek the truth. the word of god is truth. that is the only source of truth. many are deceived not because they are not taught but because they do not bother to ascertain from the very word of god whether what they are being taught is the truth. let the example of the bereans be foremost in our minds when we sit down and listen to teachings.
10:26 amen. luck is not in god's vocabulary either ^_^. there is no hapenstance in god's economy. "you will be blessed" needs to be the language rather than "you will be lucky."
22:50 it was not being kosher that was the issue. it was being ascetic (non-meat eater) vs hedonistic (largely meat eater). both think less of the other. what many do not understand about the food law is that god created all things with a purpose. as for animals, he created and designed some to be the janitors/garbage collectors of the earth so that both man and what god declared as animals that are food for man can have clean, healthful environment. the other is that god never denies man what is good for him, what will bring heaven on earth for man and mankind. note though that god did not provide for man-made garbage-this man himself must learn to manage and mitigate else we will be swimming in our man-made garbage.
