Very true, yes you are right, I'm not saying that the comparison is perfect, but I do feel that in a real fight with A-Train, Hughie would have a better chance of beating A-Train than any other Supe. It was hard for me to sympathize with Meave and Countess while watching this episode because you learn that they were enablers. It's apparent that Homelander and Soldier Boy believed that they were having genuine relationships, and they can obviously be intimidating because of the power they possess, but a big part of what makes them *them* is their upbringing as well as what other people allow them to get away with. It was even worse in Meave's case since she said she got with Homelander because she pitied him, meaning the start of the relationship wasn't just rooted in fear. It's also a point that goes back to what Mallory told Soldier Boy in Nicaragua, about how his pickup lines only work on women that are scared of him, and you could tell by the confidence he exuded that he doesn't get turned down often, meaning that most if not all of his relationships were rooted in fear. I'd sympathize with Homelander and Soldier Boy in this regard if they didn't have such great power that makes it an even trade off; like what Butcher said about what comes with great power. It can also be interpreted as the theme of how people with great success get surrounded by yes-men and are often confronted by fake people (snakes, or people with ulterior motives), which is represented the most by what Homelander is currently dealing with, except he asks for it.
she didn't start a relationship because she pitied him, at the beginning of the relationship that was probably started by Vought she pitied him. also did you not remember season 2 when Maeve said Homelander tore apart the director for switching seats with him to be next to Maeve? @@Ziaotic it wasn't "probably" started by Vought; Homelander said it himself that the relationship was strictly for the cameras in the beginning (basically like his relationship with Starlight). Also, I know they're psychopaths because of their upbringing and them being enabled and never reprimanded, but I feel like getting talked down or straightened out by some women that they genuinely loved could've helped them. The closest thing we've seen to that happening in the show is Stillwell's relationship with Homelander, except she only ever used her influence over him to control and manipulate him instead of trying to better/change him, but we know she never tried to press boundaries because she was afraid of him. And then there was Meave who isn't stronger than Homelander but still strong enough (IMO) to the point where Homelander respects her and she can deter him from any abuse (abusers are more likely to back off when their victims can actually hold their own since the abuse becomes too much of a hassle), but she didn't try to change Homelander either because she was still scared to or because she just didn't care to or both. Lastly, there was Stormfront, who we know was in a position to try to change Homelander but for the worse because of her agenda. It's not that I have no sympathy for Meave or Countess, as I can understand their positions and feelings. It's just that I have as much sympathy for them as I do Homelander and Soldier Boy because of the sincerity of the guys' feelings towards the women. I couldn't imagine working with somebody who killed a close family member or mine..Call it selfish, but I also don't know many people who would.. but in reference to the Boys "MM" has literally developed ocd, a massive temper problem, and who knows what else mental illnesses...and it All stems from soldier...that's not something many people can brush off
@@atlasamadeus6558 I get what you are saying but it's the Boys, they have seen every sort of things imaginable and transgressed every rules. I'll use spoilers now:
They could set up two teams. And Butcher would be like "we'll bring Soldier Boy to face Homelander, meanwhile you MM would be far away with a second squad so you don't have to see SB at all. Then we'll help SB kill Homelander. And when it's done, we'll have Hughie teleport you in. Afte SB does his explosion, he passes out anyway. And then he can be killed from there as he would be helpless". It would made for a more sensible plan. And then you can bring in Ryan like they did to introduce an unpredictable element. But at least the Boys would have covered a lot of bases. Whereas on the show Butcher's plan was basically, "We'll just show there and improvise".
Leech (James "Jimmy" from X-men had similar powers to suppress super powers. He is a Morlock, a group of mutants whose deformities force them to live in the sewers under Manhattan.
You guys hating on my guy butcher MM is a deadman without the V Huey stole V from butcher can’t blame butcher after he said he hates and confirmed he hates it but would he be able to kill gunpowder
MM not the drugs goes with his character but as a man who wanted hunt down solider boy who himself is nearly immortal should be smart enough to know he wasting his time
I agree with you on all the points. Just had different reaction
i think episode 5 was made for all black lives
I love your The Boys reactions but where is Bleach reactions. I think it's been over a week. Are u guys quitting the show?
Soldier boy and gunpowder was a lie........he's not gay
About starlight she couldn’t leave vought in the 1st or 2nd season you don’t know what homelander or vought in general would’ve did to make sure she was silenced and her being in vought was best given the situation. Her gamble would have worked if not for stormfronts suicide. Weather she liked it or not she at the time it was the best play but it got Uno reversed and there’s not much you can do to stop it, also with black noir and not being afraid of him lol if only you knew(not show spoilers)
Didnt the fire guy left with no repercussions ? And so did deep.
@@estebanbr7596 those were send outs because also remember they knew of her relationship with hughie in the first two seasons so her leaving at that time was certain death without the opportunity to have someone on the inside
@@rebornjm idk at the time season 1 there was not so much shit. It was fairly easy for her to say dips.
@@estebanbr7596 She didn’t even know anything about the situation at the time the only thing that she knew about was that some of the people in vought were corrupt and that she really wanted to be part of the seven. It wasn’t till the last two episodes of season one, that she was with the person who was against vought. Ultimately she was naïve in season 1, season 2 she saw what vought really was and you saw what happened when she tried to leave vought. Black noir chased her down
F the others, I agree with butcher , they all gotta go , every last one of them.
🥺
Queen 👑 speaks greatness again
Everyone playing checkers butcher playing chess
The real world MM and Starlight won’t win a fight 🤷🏾♂️
With Huey and Butcher better odds however main point is Homelander
