Speaking of fan faires..... I went to the one just before EQ2 launched. My friend won a drawing and had an NPC named after his EQ character. It was an npc froglok in Castleview Hamlet. Then they revamped those zones and he went poof. I'm on a bit of a campaign to save researcher Bubbler and have him restored.
My guess is that the alternate personas is basically going to be Shrouds 2.0, which honestly sounds awesome. I hope the extend the system all the way to 125 and make it more refined.
It's been over 10 years since I played what a game. I have been playing Star Wars the Old Republic. That game is fun but is very easy and lacks the challenge but it is very fun. Maybe a return to everquest :)
looks like news in the EQ world is heating up, I do hope something releases that allows me to play my live character to do group content without having to build a box group! catching up on my main Warrior is hard when everyone doesn't group anymore and they just ignore everyone and play their box groups! i quit playing a few expacs ago due to the difficulty of being able to play the content i paid for because i would just sit LFG. i would even actively message people in zones to join groups, but to no avail alot of the time! i would get progress eventually but the amount of time wasted to just get me in groups was way to much to keep playing.
This 100%, game is in a gutter state of forcing you to pay for heroic to do anything beyond 75. This game needs a level synchronization system like FFXI has
Sure does, but that means more BAGS. It will suck if they don't add a proper inventory by build system. The Elder Scrolls online did a cool way to change specs with a home furniture item.
$20 says Fading doesn’t want to risk mentioning Project Quarm/emulated servers for fear of making Daybreak angry. They’re too-big of a news story to omit otherwise. 300 people in gfay on launch
I do not mention the alternate servers or emulators as I prefer to support official servers/the company to keep the game running. Besides, the Agnarr server (PoP locked TLP) has been out for years and I enjoyed my time playing there.
Do you understand why the community is Jaded? The innovation for the game has gone away, its literally just about pumping out the same formulaic framework. You do a fantastic job, and I applaud you but at some point the EQ team needs to push boundaries a bit. The game used to have really interesting itemization and such, now its just MORE stats, MORE damage, MORE levels.
EQ2 xpacks are a bit meh since Kunark way back when. I miss those BIG sprawling outdoor zones with tons of quests. The one year cadence with smaller/less content doesn't give the same bang for the buck anymore.
this game needs some serious help. early everquest was about the journey. modern everquest is about the end game, yet has done nothing to address how much of a slog the journey becomes for somenoe who does not have easy and free access to being powerlevelled. starting in the mid 60's even on the double xp servers it's several hours per level and you are only halfway through the process. this may encourage people to buy heroic characters sure, but as soon as they make one and try to do anything in 100+ content they get smashed quickly as they have no idea how much different the game is fundamentally at 90+ from 1-70. the game needs a level squish and ability/clicky aa pruning desperately if they want new players to stay and pay.
Yeah, that 70-80 level range is the worst. Doesn't help that a lot of the content from that era is...not awesome. SoD and up are good for the most part. That gap between OoW/GoD and SoD was pretty awful. Only suggestion is to do the daily zones/quests to get over that hump. You might try general and ask if anyone wants to help kill some level appropriate raid targets for a little gear. Any 120 can kill them in 1-3 seconds each. I'd actually like a mentor system like EQ2. It'd be awesome for this exact use case but it wouldn't give DPG something to sell on the cash shop (extra slots, etc) so it will likely never become greenlit or be done.
i am praying that this class switching bullshit is just shroud nonsense, or if its something else, they dont implement it on live. how dare they ignore players asking for things for years and years, and then bring out some shit like this that is core changing to EQ ? i hope we can give them enough feedback on beta to stop that garbage. i am always thinking and preparing for the worst tho. that being said, i doubt i would find playing as much fun or challenging if someone can just switch classes in an instant.
Why not just wait until we know more? Why all the negativity? Who hurt you? Give it a chance once we know how it works, and we'll see the pros and cons.
Glad you are back! Best channel on UA-cam !!
Awww thanks!! The next episode is coming together!
Wild, I haven’t played EQ since 2004. I saw an ad for an expansion somehow. Awesome that this game is still going.
I just want to say, I don't play EQ anymore but it just makes my day when I see a new episode of the EQ show come out. Keep up the great work!
Thank you again Fading for bringing us up to date information!
Thanks for posting more EQ Show. We missed you.
Spoiling us with your presence this week! Your hard work does not go unnoticed!
Hell yeah!!!
Welcome back! You were missed!!
Always a pleasure to see EQ in my feed. Thank you so much.
I consider all and new Fading spotting's to be a blessing from up on high... Just don't go missing for years again :)
Those expansions sound (and look) impressive! And the alternate persona ability? WOW!!! (No pun intended...)

Another winner thanks

EverQuest Next soon
Hey!
Alternate persona's sound alot like the FInal fantasy 14 job system
Sure does, but that means more BAGS. It will suck if they don't add a proper inventory by build system. The Elder Scrolls online did a cool way to change specs with a home furniture item.
I haven’t played since gates of discord would I be able to come back and actually play the game?
Absolutely! Your characters should still be available on "Life" servers, or check out one of the many Time Locked Progression (TLP) servers!

Good to see that the EQ team is doing their regularly copy and paste expansion. Great innovation team

I think Renewal of Ro was pretty well received and was a beautiful expansion. The new expansion certainly is eye-catching.
Its a beautiful game and enjoyable to play for sure. Sadly with so little to do I find the shine wears off too fast.@@EverQuestShow

Final Fantasy Job system is how it sounds to me.
