Hi - from someone who has marked for Edexcel, I can confirm: (1) you do NOT need an introduction. (2) an AGREE/DISAGREE structure is best - this question is a debate which makes it different to a 12 mark question. (3) three points are ideal - two that agree/one disagree or two that disagree/one agree. (4) the judgement is vital - be it at the end or via mini-judgements made throughout (which show a more sophisticated writing style/sustained analysis).
I have always known the information to answer a 16 mark question, but never able to execute it that well. This video in 8 minutes has given me a better understanding on how to answer a 16 mark question, than my dead beat history teacher has in 2 years.
Thanks to you, I got a 10/12 for my 12 marker class test. I always hated 12 markers and overall history exam questions, but because of your teaching strategies, I conquered my fears and I am getting the grades I need for history.
I used this technique to revise for my end of year 10 exam on crime and punishment and I got all 16 marks on the question. I am so happy. Thank you so much for this!
ugh, this helped so much! have gotten stuck with a rubbish teacher and this video perfectly explained the question structure for the exam. I felt like I was just spouting knowledge out in the exam, without really linking the evidence back to the question, so I was super gutted when I was handed back my mock paper, especially as I'm taking history a level next year ):
So pleased I could help! Having a rubbish teacher makes your life so much harder, so you should be even more proud of every achievement you make in spite of your teacher. I'm pleased you're not going to let a rubbish teacher stop you going on to do A-level though! Good luck :)

I used your videos all throughout gcses and went from a grade 3 to a grade 9 on results day last year. I showed your channel to 3 of my friends who also achieved a grade 9 because of you and history became all of our strongest subjects. Thank you so much, you were a blessing for my gcses and your channel deserves a million subscribers !!

A 9 won't be my overall grade but thanks to your videos I'll definitely get a grads 6 overall and therefore be able to do it for a levels so thank you!

Yes, absolutely! That's a very valid way to answer the question. I personally used 3 paragraphs, because it's one less paragraph to write, but both ways work and should enable you to get all the marks!

thanks very clear and god explanation. I was wondering about the structure for 16 mark interpretation question like the one on the weimar and nazi germany paper, I don't know if you have gone through this before.
I'm sorry a long long time ago but is it possible to use this structure for any 16 mark question as I'm abit confused as your disagree or agree point is in your conclusion and others says it is best to use a disagree, agree, disagree and agree paragraphs and I dont understand how to agree or disagree in my paragraphs so do you think it's best to use peel for a16 mark question and still get high marks
There's more than one way to get full/high marks in this question. The one you've been taught may be different, but this one will definitely get you high marks :)
Hi - from someone who has marked for Edexcel, I can confirm:

Can you make a "How useful is this source" question video
It'll be coming at some point :)
@@Alonglongtimeago yesssss thank you
Not taking history for GCSEs (in year 9 and planning to take geography) but these videos have been very helpful with homework
metaphorically being held at gun point to do this for my end of year assessment (year 9)
Can you do one on the 16 marker in paper 3 please?
I just do a history 16 marker and I included my own knowledge but in the conclusion, will I drop marks?
Off the top of my head these questions are marked positively, so you can't drop marks, only gain them :)
Thanks sooo much!
why am i getting recommended this now, this wouldve been rlly helpful a year ago
no time like the present to get a time travel machine
Thanks for this!
Pleased you liked it :)
thanks very clear and god explanation.
I was wondering about the structure for 16 mark interpretation question like the one on the weimar and nazi germany paper, I don't know if you have gone through this before.
video coming on that at some point in the future
I'm sorry a long long time ago but is it possible to use this structure for any 16 mark question as I'm abit confused as your disagree or agree point is in your conclusion and others says it is best to use a disagree, agree, disagree and agree paragraphs and I dont understand how to agree or disagree in my paragraphs so do you think it's best to use peel for a16 mark question and still get high marks
There's more than one way to get full/high marks in this question. The one you've been taught may be different, but this one will definitely get you high marks :)
