Personally I really don’t care for (real) pilot mini figs and I liked the reasoning they gave but I have to wonder how much of it is the real determining factor and how much of it is actually just Lego taking the safest route. In general Lego rarely ever makes mini figs of real people which besides saving them on image rights and bureaucracy also makes it safer for Lego if the real people ever get themselves in controversy.

Honestly, the only thing that is weird to me is the KICK Sauber (8:23) because the actual car also has branding for Stake, another live streaming site that's whole schtick is that it's a gambling related thing. And while it doesn't actually have the Stake branding on the LEGO car, KICK isn't all that much better with its reputation so I'm a little surprised that LEGO had done this. This might just be my pessimistic side, but with the Redbull cars being 18+, I'm kinda surprised that they didn't make the KICK one the same.
when i first saw the logo, i was extremely surprised they approved that... kick uses stake money for promotion and marketing, sorta like money laundering

I don't really follow F1 personally, but all these sets still look great to me, the 10 Speed Champs together are an awesome display! The city sets are also much better than I expected, I especially like the garages. Great video Balázs!

There is a ban on energy drink advertising in Denmark (EA couldn't release EA Sports MMA in the country because of this) and presumably giving these cars the 18+ rating is enough to satisfy the appropriate regulators in this case.
Good news about wider rear tyres for the Lego Icon’s Williams, it’s the one that most interests me, and rectifies the biggest issue associated with the Icon’s Senna Mclaren. I really like the Nigel Mansell figure, a nice touch - thank you for the update!
Thanks 4 letting us know they were available for pre-order. Ordered all of them since i like speed champions sized cars. I'm sure it will look nice next to the other f1's that came out earlier.
I hope that they produce pit, paddock, and truck sets to match the Speed Champs and not just the City sets. Also, I can see a huge opportunity for the aftermarket Lego customizers to come out with heads and torsos (or at least decals) to make the driver-specific minifigs. In fact, I’d be surprised if at least one of them wasn’t already working on it.
I recently discovered how much I like F1 and honestly this is awesome. I just bought a couple of sets and now I want more, so this is great news. I definitely will pre order the red bull car. I’m on the fence about getting all 3 of the expensive technic sets though.
Lego have done a dirty. I just noticed that for, at least the UK and US online stores, the Insider offers of the Record Player etc are NOT available for pre-orders. BOO.
First I thought it was another new 12T gear with clutch. But if you look closely at the real video of the car you can see there is actually just the regular 20T bevel-less gear with clutch. I think it is an incorrect picture on the wall.
Wonder if if was actual ‘fan feedback’ or straight up dismal sales and rightfully so. Those rear tires on the Senna were nothing less than an abomination. The super iconic FW14 is a pleasure to see. And Mansell minifig actually looks like Manselll. The only thing I would change right away id the iconic air intake that could halve been done much better. Not sure how they came to this final design.

I definitely fall into the "There are far too many F1 products coming out at once" group. I was sure the rumors of these lines were incorrect, I just couldn't believe Lego would release this many products so similar to each other, never mind all in one wave. F1 is not for me, and I'm sad Speed Champions in particular seems fully committed to this wave for the first half of 2025. I am curious to hear how sussecsful these sets are, if the interst is really there like Lego seems to think.

No! Why would anyone want a mid pack Jordan, or early (non-winning) Benetton? The better option would be a 94/95 Benetton or better still a 2000-2004 Ferrari.
The gwp state excludes pre orders so you will not get them with pre orders of the f1 cars. I had to shuffle a few things around to get all the 3 gwp plus the barracuda seas set.
Really wish the speed champion sets wouldn't have stickers. that lineup feels like premium sets for adult collectors and F1 fans, and the stickers definitely not give it a "premium" feel, cheap knockoff legos in my childhood used to have stickers.
I’ll be curious if F1 is popular enough to sell this many similar sets, or if it’ll be an isle of shelf warmers. But if the F1 theme is company wide I’ll be curious to see what Friends racing sets they make.

At the same time, regarding new parts, we're missing a ton of connectors which Cada has already designed before Lego, which should be incredibly shameful, that are super useful when building complex stuff like the various angled connectors with axles, only available in Lego for 0 , 90 and 180 degrees and missing all the other angles to complete the set, yet they decide a new freaking engine block was needed... what the actual f... 🙄 This got me really pissed, Lego needs to sort out its priorities asap. Been waiting for those connectors for 10+ years and instead, we get a new engine block which seems to be exactly the same 2x2 block but different design. I feel like they're trolling the MOC builders at this point
Literally the whole bodywork, every panel is different. And unless you can magically see the chassis you can't say it's the same. Because it clearly and visibly isn't. Now do you expect two formula cars from the same rule era to look completely different? Because of course they won't, F1 operates within a set of rules that also dictate the shape of the car.
@@mikosoft sure, the panels are slightly different because it's a different car and different designs, but the spoiler with those hanging panels on the side, splitter with slightly different ends, literally 90% same, the blade used in the back, even that curved panel on the front curvature is in the same exact position, except they didn't use the triangular curved panels this time. I expect maybe something else for this already ridiculous increased price, not just ANOTHER similar looking F1 car that we get every year. I'm honestly wondering how you guys not get formula 1 fatigue. People seem to be happy to collect same looking cars, but in different colors, so maybe it's just me that got tired of seeing the same designs for 3 years in a row. I got tired of waiting for new parts that MAKE sense and help the creative building and instead they give us wishbones for formula 1 and new engine blocks which both literally don't change any single thing about the way you build it... I agree the P1 wishbone was necessary, but for the formula 1 we already have those half wishbones that we used, so this is totally pointless. They complain it's expensive to create new molds yet they waste it on parts we don't actually need. Brilliant move from Lego, what can I say!
Technic Ferrari one looks amazing, and potentially has great new pieces, but the price's just unjustifiable. Even considering licence and new difficult to produce parts, selling a set with less than 1400 pieces for 230 USD is simply wrong. It isn't a good value at all.
These look great. The minifigure thing is bs, Lego just don't wanna pay for the drivers likeness. Nothing got to do with "we want the kids in the car" or constant change, sure the liveries are out of date. So who cares.

On the car itself there is no stake, its only kick so they got away with it
My main concern is the massive price hike. Speed Champions are up 10%, the Technic 1:8 car is up 20%, and the Icons car is up 25%.

@@mikosoft sure, the panels are slightly different because it's a different car and different designs, but the spoiler with those hanging panels on the side, splitter with slightly different ends, literally 90% same, the blade used in the back, even that curved panel on the front curvature is in the same exact position, except they didn't use the triangular curved panels this time.
I expect maybe something else for this already ridiculous increased price, not just ANOTHER similar looking F1 car that we get every year. I'm honestly wondering how you guys not get formula 1 fatigue. People seem to be happy to collect same looking cars, but in different colors, so maybe it's just me that got tired of seeing the same designs for 3 years in a row. I got tired of waiting for new parts that MAKE sense and help the creative building and instead they give us wishbones for formula 1 and new engine blocks which both literally don't change any single thing about the way you build it... I agree the P1 wishbone was necessary, but for the formula 1 we already have those half wishbones that we used, so this is totally pointless. They complain it's expensive to create new molds yet they waste it on parts we don't actually need. Brilliant move from Lego, what can I say!

Technic Ferrari one looks amazing, and potentially has great new pieces, but the price's just unjustifiable. Even considering licence and new difficult to produce parts, selling a set with less than 1400 pieces for 230 USD is simply wrong. It isn't a good value at all.

These look great. The minifigure thing is bs, Lego just don't wanna pay for the drivers likeness. Nothing got to do with "we want the kids in the car" or constant change, sure the liveries are out of date. So who cares.
