Keep him in the OF. Gives his body a chance for a lot less impact (and injury) than SS. His presence in the lineup changes the energy of the entire team. Kids a generational talent.

And at this moment Kim plays better D at SS than nando. But I think by next year he’ll go back to SS and fix his throwing errors, and go back to playing gg D like in 2020. (He should have won the gg that yr based off the majority of defensive metrics)

    • @coachd49

@@grahamcook6883 For all the great plays he makes, he’s also still way to energetic and sometimes reckless to be an everyday SS. For his health and longevity to the Pads, he should be an OF. Kim and Cronenworth can man SS this year and next. My guess is Abrams will get the next shot at being the long term answer at SS.

sadly he will get injured again , the guy just can't remember to keep with the two handed follow through swings .... he does the same thing every time goes 8 - 9 games doing the two handed follow through just fine and then around the 10th game will just go back to the one handed follow through's and bam! a game or two of doing that and keeps re-injuring it .... hopefully surgery in the off season will fix it completely because the guy isn't too bright

@@grahamcook6883 I think he’ll go back to SS but I feel like he needs to get surgery so his shoulder won’t pop out of place as much. My friend shoulder would pop out during football when he’d dive for a catch. Got surgery after the season and went on to college and had no problems

I feel like they should keep Frazier at 2nd and Cronenworth at SS. Kim is not hitting well at all, and those two have the same defense and a lot better offense.

I don't know what it is about this amazing kid who looks like the next Ken Griffey, Jr., hitting 33 HRs despite missing 32 games. It's obvious he emotionally lifts a Padres team that lost 3 of 4 to Arizona, which has the worst record in baseball. Unfortunately, San Diego is in a spiral and no longer has a reliable starting rotation - and with 42 games left - the math looks grim for a division flag - as they're unlikely to catch the Giants, who are an amazing 34 games over 500 and 10 games ahead of San Diego with just 10 head-to-head games left between them.
San Diego won't admit it - (they also have 9 head-to-head games left with the Dodgers) - but they are essentially - with so many injuries - just trying to stay ahead of the Braves, Reds, Phillies and Cards for that desired (but dreaded) - "one-and-done" wildcard playoff game in early October. They peaked in late May when they had the best record in baseball. What has killed them since - is not just bad early-inning pitching - but the HUGE number of games it has lost to sub-500 teams - while the Giants have consistently taken down top-flight teams AND the lesser teams all year. It's like there's a weird mental vibe in the Padres' dugout against these underachieving teams - because they are always amped against the Giants, Dodgers and other top teams - playing them fairly close all year. But against the sub-500s, they have collapsed. I did not see this coming.
Love Tatis Jr., though, and if he can stop falling onto his bad left shoulder - he could be the NL's MVP. He's batting 300 and also leads the NL in stolen bases - but I expect the latter number (23) to "freeze" because he's no longer allowed to slide head first to beat any tag.
