@@Snake_407 fire extinguisher is the part that requires the less rp to research. Do you even play war thunder? If you wanna cry about something try to use a top tier jet with aim9b stock and have the best missiles as a tier 3 upgrade
The APS is the tanks unique feature where as the fire extinguisher is something every vehicle has. Not saying it's right, but it makes sense in the system gaijin has.
The APS works 100 percent of the time (If the missile travels slower than 700 m/s and is in the right direction) but if you move while a missile comes towards you, the explosion will still damage your tank. You kinda need to drive slow or stop for it to work the best.
16:35 here the missile hits just as the tank takes a large bump/jump, so makes sense that the APS has trouble in such situation

The T80U can also fit the Drozd and Arena APS system.
Multiple vehicles in Ukraine have been seen with the empty launchers.
Likely because they don’t want to kill their supporting infantry. In warthunfer though. No such problem
The T-62MD would be nice to see in-game I just hope if it's ever added that it will be a tech tree vehicle perhaps in the folder right after the T-62M-1
the "don't aim for the gun" tip reminds me, I've shot at merkava breeches the past few weeks and the shots like to do no damage, ricochet inside of the tank, and pass out the back without killing anything. Soft buff? Maybe.
idk, but a tank with an impenetrable breach sounds like a ton of fun to bait shots and meme with.

Been playing the bagel and Leo a1a1 recently and the merkavas are such a Fucking pain. They never die in one hit from the front, their barrels seem stronger than any other tank and side shots commonly pass through with no spalling or damage.

I think APS is overall a good addition. There may be some problems if >50% of tanks in a battle have it, but when limited to certain tanks it gives them specific advantages over missile vehicles, instead of missile vehicles just being nerfed. If they do become very prevalent than it would be a massive nerf to missile vehicle and I would not be a fan

This is the first vehicle I unlocked from the new patch and the amount of PUMA hell I've had to go through to grind out the mods gave me PTSD

APS is a very cool addition! The amount of times my Iron Fist has saved me from Helis on the Black Night is crazy! (Shame majority of the games are all Challies so my Win rate is in the dirt 😂)

This is an 8.3 tank that absolutely curbstomps everything.
It goes against late 50's era ATGMs and old french tank destroyers.
The only tank that gets APSFDS at the same tier, is an unstabilized MBT from the 50s, with mediocre armour and nothing else.
I like the T55-AMD-1 APHE more than the dart cause you do face more IFV and lightly armored ATGM carrier and with LRF aiming long range with lower velocity round is easy

I am pretty sure the APS at 16:38 didnt work because your tank wasnt flat, your front was lifted so it hink it was outside of the detection range, because when you look carefully the missile went very low, basically udner your frontal armor

When the sabot non pen at 21:00 , this is bulcrap like gaijin shells can not become dust just by hitting oxygen or what else and this append a lot to me when I’m fighting leo’s but to be honest I’m still playing this game bc it’s great and fun (sometimes not x))

The APS didn't work that time because you were going quickly forward and drove over a bump so there was no way it could track the missile quickly enough
This thing is fun. 8.3 Russia was already great, and now it just got better. Definitely not a 8.7 tank though as T-62-M1, and the Chinese T-55/62s are there at 8.7 which are better. Fits as a good 8.3 as its turret is fairly susceptible.

8.0 to 9.0 is way to crowded. This thing is miles better than a bunch of 8.0 tanks and better than most 8.3, but it’s not good enough to be 8.7. The BRs are just too compressed

I love this tank, but i have one issue with it and it's more of an aesthetic issue. I wish it had two of the large smoke cannisters on the back rack like the T54 1947 and Su-122-54 has. Just having those back racks empty like that bugs me.

usualy when i play t-55a i take 14 dart, 2 heat and 2 aphe. you are insane to take that much ammo

AMD are known for running hot. I uses to have a laptop using first or second gen turion 64 x2 (it was one of the first amd 64 bit processors on a laptop is all I remember). It one time hit 130 C according to internal sensors.

I really like T-55AM1 and AMD. The only thing I hate is the reload speed. 8.5s with an ace crew while everything else has 6.7 or less is just deadly. As is the turret rotation. It feels like a turret from a battleship... Unfortunately 9 out of 10 games are full uptier or an uptier to 9.0 and all games are infested by Pumas so I stopped playing them.
P.S. That shot at 20:58 is unfortunately a typical one for me. That ammo is really bad. You were extremely lucky with those oneshots.
P.P.S. Have you noticed that it has a base repair time over 57s while AM1 and T-62 have 40s?

Not a fan of T55s because of the really good composite armor at 8.3 They are pretty hard to kill with HEAT-FS
You see Ivan, if you don't steal the ERA bricks and sell them off to arms dealers around the world, you get an ancient but reasonably efficient tank

And in game. It just needs to be within the effective speed bracket of the system, and most of the rounds at that BR are too fast at the range we fight on the small maps.

There is a mistake in this video, the AMD actually has 80 more horsepower than the AM-1. I think it's quite notable. Still, a fun video
Did they fix repair costs, got to 9.7 / 10.3 (aa) in Italian tree but stopped playing because repair costs were higher than muliple kills in every tank. I want to start playing again, but i want to play for fun not for SL. Repairs should just take away money from what you earn not from the money you had before a match.

Okay this was a pretty strange video....I mean There was a let's bully Germany day in WarThunder? In the most of the battles there was everyone againts Germany....so strange, or did I miss an event or I just didnt heard the information about this in the video? The other thing was that a huge amount of the German vehicles in the battle were Begleit, Puma, and maybe TAMs mostly TAM2IPs. There wasn't as many Leopards as usually. Interesting...However the video was great and Interesting. The T55AMD-1 is really interesting in itself, to be honest I'm not the huge fan of the Soviet/Russian vehicles in the game and in the real life as well but the T-55 and its variant that I really love. Also I was always corious how the armies modernize their old equipment and how they doing in a battle. Fortunately they can't test them in a real battle (till now), and to be honest I don't want them to test it. But the WarThunder purposeful. Anyway thanks for the great video Justin you videos so cool and...how the english says that, educational yes I think this is the right word. I've learned so much from them. Keep it up

Funny how the system is good in game. It was pretty poor IRL, in Afghanistan it only had an 80% success rate against RPGs, let alone anything tougher. Not to mention how it caused large collateral damage to any infantry nearby
Many vehicles that generally performs poorly irl became good to extremely good in game, take the T-34 for example, it is a mediocre at best and slightly too expensive for its class while having poor built quality somehow performs too good half the time
Look for Lazerpig on YT for more info on how overrated the T-34 is
80% sounds pretty good to me for a technology that was completely ahead of the time.
the 20:55 and 21:45 clips show very well how ridicolous this game is, mainly focusing the bias for the german tree tanks. those marders bounce 300mm pen rounds like nothing else. same thing happened to me with high penetration apds more than twice. what a toxic enemy to fight at 7.3
It's great and the APS helps so much but I hope they don't move it up because of it, apart from the APS it's literally the same thing as its premium counterpart which sits very comfortable at 8.3! Also, it's great to have this because I don't myself spedning 60 euros for the premium one, I would much rather get the Turms when I get the chance, it's superior.

T-55AM1 is at a better B.R. (before the puma dropped) as 9.7 was always a loss.
8.3 is fine for it. I would not see it perform well vs. 9.7 tanks and the APS while it can save you it doesnt help against APFSDS.

Aiming is soo easy at highier tiers, wish they tweaked that a bit, i know its stabilizers and all that, but for gameplay purpose it could sway a little bit to the left and right to make it just a little bit more skill required ...
As with jets, the whole point of upper tiers that people seem to miss is that it's more about setup and placement than aiming and ranging. Yes it's easier to kill something, but the same goes for your enemy, so the skill comes from putting yourself in place to kill them without being taken out yourself.
@@MrEsphoenix At top tier everything can basically kill you with one shot out of nowhere, it could be someone far away waiting behind horizon watching you from third person view, it could be some small weird fast vehicle already waiting for you behind a wall, there is so many posibilities that actually knowing that someone could miss their shot would be a nice feeling, but 99% of the situations it doesnt happen because its extremely easy to aim with stabilizers and range finder
@@MrZelatur which is why you need to know the maps and vehicles you face by the time you reach top tier. Learn those spots behind the horizon so you can shoot first. Learn the capability of those weird vehicles so you can predict where they'll be and how you counter them. By the time you get to top tier you should have enough experience that you won't miss shots anyway, and the last thing we need is artificial RNG making shots that should have hit veer off and miss. If that's what you want then low/mid tier still exist, but top tier has a higher focus on tactics, knowledge, reactions and setup, and less on learning to aim and RNG round dispersion.

In theory no. It's designed to minimise the danger to infantry around the vehicle, and be usable in lightly armored vehicles. But I guess ultimately it depends on the size of the incoming charge

Do aim for the gun on the Puma, the unmanned turret isnt an advantage, its a disadvantage, no armor = easy kill on ammo = useless tank
Not to mention right now the belt is scuffed so if a Puma only carries 1 type of ammo they will lose all of them even the ones below the hull and not connected to the gun, for some reason gaijin modeled the ammo belt as 1 continuous belt instead of 4 separate belts
