Awesome and honest! Being a watch head I couldn't help but notice that Ranveer is rocking a Richard Mille! I am a fan for that reason alone. But seriously, great episode
It will be too soon to judge how this season unfolds, but as far as this episode is concerned, I didn't like it. You recently uploaded snippets of previous season, and when I went back to them, I found a lot of words of wisdom about life, craft, etc. Rajkumar Hirani and Shahid Kapoor come under mainstream cinema. But their conversation was lovely! Karan Johar is an intelligent person, but the choice of this duo and their answers felt like, they were at each other's home and chatting about their personal life. The main reason I didn't like it was the choice of questions perhaps, and their long repetitive answers. I'm done with the marriage and relationship questions on ranveer deepika and Karan's fatherhood.
Karan, stop lying! You don't ask new comers "can you act?" You ask them "which film family they belong to". I can't digest this man talking about acting talent and good cinema after having created films like student of the year,k3g etc

karan Johar is loved by my entire friends circle. We love everything about him. Please don’t say that you’re not loved as a filmmaker. We spend so many hours by just talking good things about him. More power to you karan. 💖💖💖💖💖😎😎😎
First season had creators from different genre !! Not saying that this wasn’t fun but when two people from different genre come together it’s more fun!!
Karan is the most powerful inspite of all he says here. As he said he is everywhere, very accessible, obviously successful and above all he is in movies, television, Radio, Web. Everywhere. Outspoken and opinionated. Makes superstars. Y can’t all these things make him powerful.
So when Alia, Varun, jhanvi and Ananya etc. came into Karan's office he asked them whether they can act or not?? So truth is told now that he is not the flag bearer of nepotism.(kangana here is ur answer) in that case I am wondering why did he not ask Tiger shroff the very same question before casting him in SOTY2?
Manoj Srivastava he’s literally the flag bearer of nepotism. It’s because of people like him that people like Ayushmann and Rajkummar never land a big movie while all the other shit heads do. Watch the Koffee with SOTY2 cast next week. Literally going to be on every other discussion but acting and how they got the part
This interview was boring. The same repeated stuff nothing new or insightful about their craft. They should get two people from the industry that are totally opposite or that don't know each other that well. This way the answers will be more authentic. Obviously Ranveer is going to compliment Karan (he is in his next movie) which seemed so overboard in the beginning of this clip.
Entertainment Entertainment and Entertainment!!!! The Bollywood wouldn't have been sooo entertaining without kjo. I love this Man for what he actually is💞.
This was such a good pairing of such similar yet very different personalities, who know one another and admire each other's good qualities. I think Karan is often quite straight forward with criticism but does not receive credit from the public at large for has kindness and thoughtfulness that he does not mention. The director of Wake Up Sid said that after 10 to 15 days of shooting, Karan felt that Konkona's character's clothes made her look less than they should have. So he arranged for her wardrobe to be changed and her scenes to be reshot so she looks great as part of the function of her character in the story. You could say that was his job but I think he he has the sensitivity of Yash Chopra to take good care of the hero, heroine, cast and crew which he mentions as something he learned from his father. He has directed some excellent films like My Name is Khan and has produced so many films that creatively, his writing and directing efforts are overlooked. It would be great if Anupam Chopra could pick her 5 best films of his and ask him about them and how he creates them. The coolest thing about this interview pairing is that you have 2 guys who seem to have a lot of love for everyone. But one is seems the indefatigable loving teddy bear and the other is considered as critical and more guarded against all the bad stuff that can happen in life. But despite that expresses quite a lot of love towards others after getting past personal misgivings of what might go wrong for them. There is maybe more to Karan than what one usually sees that the way he usually is might unintentionally obscure.
Sarah Siddiqui Please do me a favor. Ask Kangana to rap like Ranveer and be part of almost every other superhit film (as a producer) like karan. In any case, stealing others' credit (like Ms. KR) is definitely not success.

Not to draw comparisons, but Meryl Streep called Harvey Weinstein 'God' just a few years back. And now look at his current state. Power isn't permanent
Aditya he’s a powerful person, yet his unabashed (his favorite word :) promotion of star kids and his hypocritical statements are what pisses everyone off
Although Karan was a hypocrite at the start of the interview with the whole "acting and stardom" questions, I really appreciated the honesty 19:00 onwards.
I think Karan Johar just cannot make peace with the fact that he is not the interviewer in this show. When the cassette is played, the question is quite clear, but Karan seems to step in and makes the question more complex and then it is answered by Ranveer. Also Karan talks way TOO much. He needs to speak less. At least to an extent where the other person is allowed to speak sufficiently.
The point where Karan doubts himself as a filmmaker , I wish that Ranveer could tell him about the great movies he has made . Be it "My name is Khan" whchi was touted to be a potential Indian osacar nominee or the "K3G" which is my and many others' guilty pleasure and also his slice in the "bombay talkies" which goes on to reflect the true filmmaker that resides inside him . And I hope that with Takht , he gets to realise it again .
@Kshitij Birdi I don't think that these filmmakers have not gotten their due regard . Probably overshadowed, because they chose to make movies on unconventional topics . I , personally , haven't seen their movies and yes, probably marketing has got a role to play in it . But just because everything has become commercialised , doesnt justify as to why karan is not a good filmmaker . And yes , i called K3G a guilty pleasure because it got a polarised response from critics and i knew that many wont agree with me calling it an exceptional work. All in all , every industry has got both good and bad to it . But , as long as , they have not done anything overtly wrong to hurt the mass, why shall we hate them ?
@Kshitij Birdi You have an extensive knowledge about movies , filmmakers and the industry itself . I genuinely dont think i am as knowledgeable in this respect to continue having a healthy debate . But beyond a doubt you put forward quite good points . And , i never paid attention to how the nominations for extremely important categories arr shoved behind the commercials , indeed Oscars doesn't do the justice to the real manpower and efforts . Regarding me calling K3G a guilty pleasure, i couldn't find a better way to say it ( blame my poor vocabulary) but i love the movie personally. And when you say that every person, who feels their money has gone waste watching a movie which was not worth it , has the right to hate these filmmakers, you are right. And despite agreeing with you almost everything ( including that probably karan johar has not taken enough risks) , I still would say that he has done some incredible work , however scarce it may be . Peace🤞
@Kshitij Birdi Haha , I am happy that we have met somewhere in the middle . And i would never get offended with what you said . You simply tried to put out your opinions , that too really good ones. And Thank you too for letting me know of such great directors , i shall go and see their work . Toodles! :)

I'm done with the marriage and relationship questions on ranveer deepika and Karan's fatherhood.
personal_playlist 94 hmmn you got a point
Good point. I did not expect much from the shahid-hirani episode but the conversation was surprisingly insightful.
personal_playlist 94
@Rational Thinker if karan is not intelligent, then he would not have been such a successful producer
Karan, stop lying! You don't ask new comers "can you act?" You ask them "which film family they belong to". I can't digest this man talking about acting talent and good cinema after having created films like student of the year,k3g etc
He also made KKHH and MNIK.
It's also possible to enjoy or create pop corn entertainment while also enjoying or creating films with more depth.
@World Traveller banggg on...!!!!
This tapecast is very unique approach of conversation, it is too good thanks film companion
'I am more in your face than your own face '. What a line😂
Karan Johar is very articulate. It's always enlightening to hear him talk!
You are delusional.
He is such a megalomaniac wannabe. You really need some reality checks in your life if you think he is relevant.
@@Dr.SyedSaifAbbasNaqvi do you even know what megalomaniac mean hows is karan johar a megalomaniac pls elaborate
@@meerabose8314 yeah you are giving more credit to kjo then he deserves he maybe be hypocrite but he cant be consider a mafia so what, if he is only casting star kids in his movies its his production house he is not stopping other big production houses to cast new talent and besides who would not favor their friends in a busines when they are making him money if you have to blame someone blame indian audience who watches his movies and make him rich and the fact is the same people will watch his movies in theater and disregard films like tumbaad and manto meanwhile movies like judwaa2 will make 200crs and then bitch n moan about nepotism .

karan Johar is loved by my entire friends circle. We love everything about him. Please don’t say that you’re not loved as a filmmaker. We spend so many hours by just talking good things about him. More power to you karan. 💖💖💖💖💖😎😎😎
Aww💓 I also love him & his films haha
First season had creators from different genre !! Not saying that this wasn’t fun but when two people from different genre come together it’s more fun!!
It will be fun to see where Karan directs a movie where Kangana and Ranveer are working and comes out without any controversy haha
Karan is the most powerful inspite of all he says here. As he said he is everywhere, very accessible, obviously successful and above all he is in movies, television, Radio, Web. Everywhere. Outspoken and opinionated. Makes superstars. Y can’t all these things make him powerful.
Ranveer is such a wholesome guy🖤
Ranveer you're a giver but please be careful of people like Karan who take and use
Exactly.. haha
So u saying Alia and varun can't act?
Her point is about consideration of actors outside of bollywood dynasties, not their talents. Alia Bhatt is the best example.
He knows tiger will bring in the money he is very clever about producing such movies
This as a standalone video is quite good. But as a part of Tape Cast, really no match for the rawness of the first season.
Because they are incredibly fake and ignorant stars and nowhere near being called artists.
Act in actor. Is that why karan took Tiger in his next movie?
Savage🔥
Yes because SOTY should not be called a movie either.
SOTY 2 is cheap musical school
Tiger shroff can't act for God s sake. Hearing Karan?
Bharath s y
He can act just fine in the non complex roles he's had so far. They were basic roles. There was nothing more to do with such roles.
@@AriaIsara Tiger can barely move his face. He is a male Katrina
He's better than many shit heads out there. So stfu.
@@shraddhapawar As a human being yes, but as an actor, are you freaking kidding me??? Since when did the standards get so shockingly low???

This interview was boring. The same repeated stuff nothing new or insightful about their craft. They should get two people from the industry that are totally opposite or that don't know each other that well. This way the answers will be more authentic. Obviously Ranveer is going to compliment Karan (he is in his next movie) which seemed so overboard in the beginning of this clip.
Ranveer Singh's outfits are always a hoot!
Very very good. This is the best of the tapecast I have seen. This was very well done.
Karan Johar is Best! And Ranveer Singh is Best actor both are hardworking 👍🧡🔥
Doesn't feel like a TapeCast episode. Always liked this series for its meaningful conversations
They way he talks about her😩❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Felt like watching Koffee with Karan KJo owns it everytime.
This is the first episode I've seen .. I did not watch the first season .. I loved the idea so much..thank you film companion

'If you know you're free say you are free na ' The way he said that 😂😂😂
Deepika is very lucky all i can say ❤❤😍
Karan johar took me to a fantasy world full of fun and happiness.
Great answer from Ranveer on stardom..... looks like Karan doesn’t like Ranveer as he is not a star child 😜😏
Both appear very relaxed and self assured. Good to watch success twinning.
Lol...this is your definition of success.
Makes sense why the brainless masses follow these people
Sarah Siddiqui Please do me a favor. Ask Kangana to rap like Ranveer and be part of almost every other superhit film (as a producer) like karan. In any case, stealing others' credit (like Ms. KR) is definitely not success.
Sarah Siddiqui BTW I can smell a Kangana fan from a kilometre distance
@@bhanurekhab4406 and being part of superhit films is an achievement?
Anyone who can become slaves of producers like Kran Johar can bag "superhit" films.

This is the best combination of ranveer and Karan johar .
I haven't watched much yash johar movies apart from bits n pieces of srk movies, I'm complete kjo movie girl: Bit of Anjali and Poo... I love that these 2 (ranveer n kjo) r expressive in their own way, they open up easily, do not care about society, ppl's judgements/opinions. They are classy n fun to talk to just like me!! 😉
Both are Right when these are talking about Most Powerful In Bollywood
I love karan johar. I admire him for many reasons. He has the best diction. He is my honky dory. I love and thankful for his autobiography. Thankful for who he is
They should do Ranbir Kapoor and Imtiaz Ali
karan johar is a big producer not a big director
TRUE
Its not true. He's the one who made My name is Khan and if it was Imtiaz Ali who made that film people would've gone nuts and shower with him all the praises but hey its KJo so it's ok to ignore it? And not only that every movie he had directed till now is super entertaining!!😊
90% people hate Karan johar ....even I don't like him. But you can't disagree with the fact that he is the most powerful person in Bollywood
He joins every year The World Economic Forum. It's obvious where his power came from. For that reason I hate and don't respect him. This man is the gateway of capitalism to India.
90% of people like him. But their ego doesn't agree to accept it
he is not respected by any of the reputed film makers
Not to draw comparisons, but Meryl Streep called Harvey Weinstein 'God' just a few years back. And now look at his current state. Power isn't permanent
Aditya he’s a powerful person, yet his unabashed (his favorite word :) promotion of star kids and his hypocritical statements are what pisses everyone off
Although Karan was a hypocrite at the start of the interview with the whole "acting and stardom" questions, I really appreciated the honesty 19:00 onwards.
Ranveer is not a brand. He is an actor.
Just can't hate karan johar even if I try
He is the most entertaining and real guy
Please bring Ranbir Kapoor and Imtiaz Ali!
Omg!! I would even pay to watch that!
Karan exaggerate so much that I constant lose track of what he's saying 🤔🤕
Everytime i watch Karan's interview i add new words to mu dictionary
Toodles! :)
