Ooooooh Lord this remix version was the life back in summer of ‘87. I remember cruising around Washington DC in my grandad Chrysler New Yorker jamming to this. God I’m old. LoL
I am a big fan of Herb Alpert. I have never heard this version of this song. Thanks for sharing. The particular album with this song was somewhat of a departure from his other work, but it was brilliant nonetheless. However, "Making Love in the Rain", another track from this album, is an undiscovered and under-appreciated gem.
with an underrated singer, mostly known for backing vocals : Lisa Keith ! she appears in the back vocal of so many productions of Jimmy Jam+ Terry Lewis !!! (alexander O Neal, Cherrelle, SOS Band, here on the hits "making love in the rain" , "diamonds" etc...
yeah this traQ is on point (" I've looked for this traQ for years.....(" youtube never fails!!!! Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis are one my favorite Producers....speaking ghetto...They B killin it on traQs....would love to hook up with them (" Janet is also on point as always on this one ("

@@robertchan5805 which diamonds are you talking about? The Herb Alpert song diamonds is from 1987 and the instrumentation we are talking about was not even used in 1979... So u might have to recheck that 😉

This jam takes me waaay back to when I was only 16 years old. I am 53 now, and STILL loving this song! #HerbAlpert #JanetJackson
Loved playing this 12inch version back in the day. Just the whole remix was funky.
If you could feel what this does to my heart... so 80s, YOU know what I mean.
This 12" version is so brilliant !
Timeless perfection
I like both versions. But this is really cool.
Don't want your money. I don't want your key. Diamonds. Love don't come for free.
Love this song!! And the album that it came from!!
I grew up listening to Herb and Janet on Good Times. Herb Alpert is Jewish but somehow got started in Latin music.
Well he may have a Jewish background via Spain who are Sephardic Jews, as opposed to East European who are Ashkenazi Jews.
This is my song for life Get it Janet!!
Minneapolis funk masterpiece...
this is a masterpiece
the kids dont know
This is absolutely brilliant!!!
Cool mix. Hadn't ever heard it until right now. Grew up with the standard 12" starting off with the "W-w-w-w-w-w-what she want?" intro.
Diese Song ist einfach der Knaller. Nochmal der Knaller. Kapiert. YT MUSIC PLAY LISTE TUNAY ZONE 🌖🌕🌔

Ron Wess MusaQ Fails alot, but still has alot & you're right about the remix. I think this is better than the original.

It does sound like Alexander O’Neal sounds. This has some serious Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis nasty bass on it.
