RV Camping at Lake Bruin State Park in Saint Joseph, Louisiana
Lake Bruin State Park is great place to go to in Louisiana if you're looking for some peace and quiet. Its located north of Natchez Mississippi and south of Vicksburg on the Louisiana side of the Mississippi River near LA Hwy 65.
It has a total of 48 sites with water/electric, as of our visit 13 of those sites have full hook-ups. Its a nice well kept campground with clean bathhouse a boat launch, swimming area and a lot more.
Our stay at Lake Bruin was in mid March. We stayed at site 1 and enjoyed the peace and quiet.
If you go to Lake Bruin you have to take a short drive to Hwy 3078. Its a short 1/4 mile road that dead-ends at the Mississippi River. You can park off of the road, take your beach chairs for a relaxing afternoon on the sandy river beach when the river is low. There is an old grain elevator there that gives the place atmosphere. ;)

We stayed at this campground in 2022
Very nice state park. Glad you enjoyed your stay. Site 28 was large enough for our 44 ft 5th wheel and 3500 Ram truck.

Haven't been to Lake Bruin since I was a kid in the 60s. Haven't given much thought to camping there because I was basing my judgement of the place on those experiences. Back then it was mainly a good place to fish, not camp. Thanks for posting this. Now I'm thinking about visiting later in the year. My only worry is water moccasins possibly living under the wooden decks.

Yes, its a nice campground in 2023. I think late Fall would be a good time to visit. The crowds and snakes will have settled down from the cooler weather. Besides, the cypress trees will have awesome orange foliage by then. Then again, the sites towards the back don't have decks, no place for anything to hide.😳😁
