I am writing this with tears in my eyes as our Father has so generously blessed me through this news! I have been praying about a way to incorporate my two passions: decluttering (& organizing) and Bible study. I can NOT wait to get this book/study. I love your videos! I look forward to getting the devotional. As for the AFFECT and EFFECT...I, too, had trouble until I thought of it this way. "A"ffect is the "A"ction/verb one and "E"ffect is the noun. :)

This is a wonderful idea ladies! I’m “older” 😆, but I get (and have gotten) a great deal of useful information about both faith AND decluttering so we’re not leaving decades of “stuff” for our family to cope with. It’s a process…thanks for your efforts and God bless. 💜🇺🇸🌵
Dawn and Diana…I can’t tell you how appreciative that I am for all that you do. Little did I know when I started following the Minimal Mom several years ago how much I would use the information that you have shared (Dawn, I even traveled to Asheville to see you a few years ago 😀). After being married for 40 years, my husband and I are selling our house and downsizing to an apartment at the lake. I would never have been able to “let go” of so many things (including toys from my childhood 🤦🏻♀️) without the principles I have learned. I also so appreciate Diana’s Bible teaching (as minimal living is certainly supported by scripture). Thank you both for the investments you have made into the lives of so many!! ❤️❤️

Hello Ladies, I can't tell you how much my life has changed for the better finding the two of you!! I found Dawn first because of Kas with the Clutterbug! Finding out my style was life-changing!! Then Dawn, you taught me Minimal living, which resonated with me so much!! I had so much stuff! I am a widow since 2018 and I am now an empty nester. Sad for me, but happy for both of my kids! I do have 2 young granddaughters that make my life so much better! Then I found Diana!!! She added so much to all of this!! I can't wait to do the devotional!!! God Bless both of you and keep up the wonderful work!!!
Ooooohhhh I can't wait. I got so excited. I've been body doubling with a friend. I think this up coming book will help us a lot. Dawn I use your book to help her along with other UA-camrs content. Since we are Christians I think this one will up us even more. I can't thank you two enough for your spiritual content, decluttering content , life content, etc. You two are encouraging.

Oh, this is so cool. A bunch of stuff: affect and effect are so hard because they each have exceptions, too! A devotional can have AN effect (n.) on your faith but can effect (v.) change in your world; decluttering can affect (v.) the way you feel and give you A happier affect (n.).
This looks really cool! And amen on the making space for what matters. Re: sports, we have prioritized scouting (both kinds) and church education, and fit organized sports for our young kids (7/7/5) where they make sense and often one at a time (except for summer camps which can be at the same facility or same camp). Sunday mornings shouldn’t have games. Even if families don’t practice faith, we all need time to BREATHE and REST. I’m Presbyterian and I’ve realized what Sunday morning is for me is meditation! I sing with my choir and breath and presence is required. Ditto prayer. Ditto recitation. It’s a fantastic reset and refocus.
Finally - minimalism doesn’t fix anything on its own, but it does give you the space and time to manage things like your faith, family, food, fitness, and fun. Ha. You can give allll the “f”s again. (See what I did there?)

I appreciate you two so much! Sidenote: I cracked up at the no-talking-for-five minutes rule because --it would be so difficult!! The devotional sounds like a great way to make the physical and spiritual connections to live more simply! I don't know how to say it in just a few words, but you have really helped point me more toward the Word when trying to make decisions about purchasing, subscribing, and 'trying out the latest and greatest _____'. Diana and Dawn I can't tell you how excited I am I have been waiting since I heard the two of you talking about this new adventure and project that you're bringing to others. I learned so much from both of you and you encourage me to step out and challenge myself and make that difference in my own life and in my home. Teamwork you two are the most beautiful teamwork and it's so amazing how the Lord is using you again in a new way in a deeper way. All I can say is thank you thank you each of you have your expertise and how you bring it to the table and with that we thank you. Richness you both have all that you do. I love the devotionals I love I'm part of the minimal mom group and part of the take your house back course what a wealth of knowledge it shows that no matter what age you are you can always learn always refine things better transform areas of your life and home and gain great friendships. Plus I love the workbook. If you buy something and it shrinks and it shouldn't shrink take it back our family members have done that and the store has never given them a problem. Also if you buy an item yes they will take it back

Dawn, I can see returning the top if you just tried it on at home without tags, but since you’ve worn it they won’t be able to resell it. I think this is one of those times when you just have to donate it and cut your losses!
I only started watching Dawn a few months ago and I’m slowly working towards simplifying our lives. I did my closet and got rid of 50%! I finally can get in my walk in closet 😊. My husband is 61 & I’m 59 and if it can be done wrong we’ve done it. We decided to sell our house (that we’ve lived in for 35yrs!). We have a contract and one month to get 40yrs of marriage and raising kids packed up. I hope to declutter at least half while we pack. But we sold to hopefully get out of debt. We should be able to pay off 165,000 in credit card debt, one car, what’s left on the house and have enough after we sell the property beside our house to build a new smaller house without a mortgage. We are old! But before it’s too late we would like to make things easier. We are sick and tired of being sick and tired! Reading Dave Ramsey now. And Dianna we have been out of church since Covid. I have some really serious issues with my immune system and it’s hard to be careful and know what to do 😢. I look forward to the devotional 😊. You both do a wonderful ministry that lets people know there’s always hope!
This would be absolutely perfect for women’s group at church ironically me and my sister run together. Back in June we brought up minimalism and shared some of your information from both of your UA-cam channels with our women’s group and talked about decluttering our homes and simplifying our life and it went over very very well a lot of the women joined the discussion from young to old God bless you both.

I am sooo excited for this!!! I'm trying to build our women's ministry. We have our 4 annual large events down fairly well. Now we need to work on smaller things for the other months. I have wanted to try and gather women to basically see the connection between a Godly life and "minimalistic" living. Love you gals to the moon...keep up the fantastic work!!

Once I know WHAT to write, I almost always enjoy the process of putting words together to effectively communicate my topic. I remember when I started Uni, grappling with what "academic" writing looked like, and then I realised if it sounded like a textbook, I'd hit the nail on the head. In any case, my writing now is more limited to student reports for school, but I'm pretty proud of how they come together, even if I do say so myself.
People go to church on different days and at different times to work around the weekend schedule that sports - for their kids, mainly - interrupts. Some friends are prime examples. Their church holds a duplicate service, either much earlier or much later, on Sundays, and a smaller condensed version one day during the week. There is no worship challenge for them in this scenario (and this is why their church is so popular). :)

Wow! This one hit so many things I love! You two are so much fun to watch! And you inspire me! As a widow I don't have trouble with living "decluttered" but before my husband promoted Home we had his parents' estates and my husband's "Justin Case" items and 3 boys and it was overwhelming to me as a neat-nik! I love the Bible! I love Jesus! And I enjoy grammar! My trick for affect and effect is to swap "influence" for affect and "result" for effect in a sentence and whichever makes sense is the right choice! Your videos have had a great affect on me and one effect is my only uncluttered closet is now tour-worthy! Love y'all!

I came across a bit in a 1998 story by Alan Bennett called "The Clothes They Stood Up In". A couple returned from the opera one evening to find that they had lost EVERYTHING in their apartment to burglars. They literally only had the clothes they were wearing. A counselor from the police came to see them; the counselor was thinking of past clients who had told her that "a hurtful burglary had given them a clue how to live, that from now on they would set less store by material possessions, travel light, etc. Lots of people could give up things, ...what they couldn't do without was shopping for them". The re-aquistion is another whole issue, isn't it? That said, I would like to get one of your devotionals.

Dawn, I took a couple items back to JCPenney a while back with the tags taken off. I felt bad about it too, but the clerk told me they have a gadget that they can use to reattach the tags. No worries!

There’s a tool that most stores have to reattach the tags. It’s not a problem.
About the scheduling, if nobody showed up for practice or a game on Sunday, that problem would take care of itself
