What If You Kill All the Synths Instead of Using the Engine Core's Rocket?

- Have you ever thought about what would happen if you just killed all the synths instead of using the Engine Core's rocket in the first quest given by Paladin Danse in Fallout 4? To find out, I went with Paladin Danse to ArcJet Systems and reached the point where the synths attack him. However, I also decided to see what happens if I don't interfere and let Paladin Danse deal with all the synths himself.

As a laser weapons person, I did this and now I'm on infinite ammo. Never have to scrounge or pay for fusion cells again. Absolute farm hack.
Edit: I can confirm it did Me well but it does run out. Had to build a water farm to keep up.
If you did absolutely nothing for about an hour he would still be fighting them and you can just go with what you need
@@Fenris2The hardest part of the process is collecting the ammo
Same, even if the build you’re using isn’t energy weapon based, you can have a shit Ron of fusion cells that can be sold all over the common wealth for some early money
Yeah just leave it on all night and wake up to thousands of rounds
There's no limit to how much you can carry??
T-60 survived an engin core but didn't survive an explosive ammo below chestplate
Nah the ghoul used special rocket propelled aphe ammo to punch through and everything has a weakness same with tanks
@@mr_gutsy5151 i think the X series and enclave series don't have the weakness anymore
They probably still have a different one
Getting hit with high heat is different from getting hit with an exosive round
Will considering that bullet exploded inside the armor
First time I played I hit the button and ran in to help Danse and got myself barbecued
Same
At first I didn’t realize that the button was there so I kept trying to stand and kill the synths but they killed me every single time
Same
I killed all of them whitout hit the button. In fact, I just learned about the button right now kkkkkk
and after killing all the synths, and THEN you activate the rocket, he will say we're lucky the rocket didnt explode
What the heck, I didn't even know you could use the rocket engine to kill the synths. I've always just shot the synths since my first playthrough lmao
Lol i knew a few months after release but by then i had done it atleast 5 times and everytime with shooting the synths. Then i pressed the button for the first time.
Same
Literally the first time I played this I knew
Plus I love to rack up cell ammo
Same😂
Same
I've always fought the synths instead of using the rocket I didn't even realize you were supposed to because in the quest it's only marked as optional 😭
If you wait a good long while, you also get thousands of Institute pistols to sell.
Me too, now i feel like an idiot
And you hear Dance in a firefight so i just rushed to help him.
Im glad i pressed the button 😂 i thought it would kill him.
I wanted him dead without the Brotherhood getting mad of me
@@fredrik3880man....I let him kill everybody, I barely fired a shot in that mission
You forgot the synth in the power armour
lol

Since when does he wear a helmet tho? He never does from what I remember
Dude, i start this quest and immediately this video shows up.
😂😂😂🎉
Walls have ears ... Took about a day but yeah I just did it yesterday 🧐
@@isokessu are you one of those nonverbals or something?
Danse survives jet engine. Survivor does to flame thrower in X-01 Armor...
buddy you can't be serious....the survivor taking damage from flamethrowers is a gameplay mechanic, what do you want to be invincible?

That's why I love playing as male. Nate's VA was enjoying himself recording those lines
I mean... there's always one synth left *looking at Danse*
This is what I did the first time actually. Never figured out I could ignite the engine
And its one place to get tones of fusion cell ammo just close the door and go have lunch
A good one for you to do is the mechanist final mission as the silver shroud. There is a few cool dialogue moments.
There was still one synth left in that room...
I never knew that if you let danse fight then the synths just keep coming
Maaaaaate mind blown
I actually did this on accident on my last playthrough and thought his response was very anticlimactic for helping
This is a great way to farm fusion cells in the beginning for your favorite weapons though truthfully outside the alien blaster I almost never use weapons with that ammo type
i like how he had dialogue for it, despite the fact that its not the path the game prompts you to take
nice to see fo4 do that i honestly would have expected the same dialogue
Tbh fallout 4 has a lot of special dialogue if you do things differently
There’s a small bit of dialogue if you can somehow get Danse inside the control room
@@danielserrano444 i know i’m just saying its nice when you notice it
You should do a video “Did you ever wonder what happens if you play as Nora instead of Nate?” and then post a 200 hour video of your play through.
Its pretty much the same but with better voice acting and a nicer ass.
I had to kill all the synths because I couldn’t figure out how to get to the button
I always kill the synths because my brain just goes into battle mode and runs out before I register the button
This quest is the best way to get massive amount of fusion cells (the more you wait, the more synth are destroyed and Danse cannot die)
This is exactly how my first playthrough went
the first time I played this I didnt know about the rocket
Ahh Bethesda, you've unlocked a little different dialogue
I didn’t even know there was a red button in there
This is an infinite money trick, btw
About the only thing i liked about the BOS questline.
The energy cell farm.
Usually come out with enough cells for the entire run.
I did this recently cause I needed as much plastic from their guns as I could get.
The Jet business is booming.
Best way to farm cells for the Tesla cannon for ez survival
The funniest part about these videos to me is that they show how little the things you do affect fallout 4 at all
The game is buggy enough as it is. Do you really expect the devs to make the game infinite as well? You're insane. Your expectations are wayyyy too high. Some things just aren't possible. Keep in mind this is a near ten year old game. Developers can't create infinite code for infinite possibilities
@@tesseract5569The issue is, older games in the series, such as New Vegas do a much better job of exactly that. Fallout 4 justifiably received criticism for stripping down the RPG elements, and narratively making your decisions have little impact on the game world and progression. It has nothing to do with technical limitations or the age of the game. Fallout 3 and New Vegas do all of these aspects better. I enjoy Fallout 4 in it's own way, but this is a pretty universal opinion.
@tesseract5569 where did I say I wanted it to be infinite, and why is saying the game is buggy suppose to further your argument? It shouldn't BE buggy, it's funded by one of the biggest studios in Gaming, lick Todd's boot harder.
Older rpgs have come out that have LESS bugs and BETTER story and role-playing elements, we should always have high standards for games like this.
@tesseract5569 the age of the game literally does not matter, at the time of its release the dialog and story options were bare bones, and they still are
How come I always watch these videos and realise that I've been playing the game the exact way you say is not normal?
Because they always pick the shit that everyone already knows
Great for a fusion cell farm if you just leave him in there for a while without pressing the button, he’s essential so he won’t die and you can just search all the synths for ammo, came out with like 1,200 cells after I left it for 20 minutes
Bro that area is a really good farming spot ngl
I never even did this in the first place I had no clue you could
You do all the work he takes all the credit
I never knew there was a button you could push, I always thought you had to kill them
I usually just make paladin danse go in the control room before I use the rocket
First time around i didn't even know about the rocket engine thing.
I just now learned about the engine
I didn’t even notice there was a rocket. I think I was too busy looting synths to even know what was going on
They don't stop coming, but their inventories will eventually empty
Best way to obtain a wild amount of fusion cells early on
When I first played I didn’t know you could activate the engine
First few playthrough I just killed them all, I didn’t even notice the button till later!
That's what I did the first time, I never knew about the button
"it just keeps spawning synths"
Me with strong back 3 and cap collector 2: all I heard was "infinite money"
I didn't even know that we were supposed to press the button 😂
Thats pretty funny -- my first run through I decided to attack the synths anyways. Didn't even realize I had the option to use the rocket lol.
I actually did that by accident the first time 😂 I wasn’t paying attention to the prompts.
Ngl i didnt realize the button was there and just helped i only realized after when i found out i could close the doors and then turned it on
Btw, if you intervene, and help Paladin Danse and decide to join the Brotherhood, you'll actually get the Knight rank instantly once you get back to Cambridge Police Station. (I know this since I didn't know you could press the button)
I did this in my first playthrough
I didn't even know I had to use the engine core's rocket in that quest, just started blasting
The moment you realize the synths respawn, "Damn, for free?!"
I actually did that in my first play thru. Had no idea about the button until after lmao
fun tip for everyone, primarily those not playing on survival mode tho: If you just let dance keep fighting the synths you can essentially get unlimited fusion cells. Very easy way to have near infinite ammo for laser weapons and to get a bunch of caps if you decide to sell the ammo. I only say this isn't so much for survival players because ammo has weight in survival. You can still use it for a good bit of ammo or money though!
Definitely works on survival as well, its all those salvageable laser weapons that weigh you down. Really good early farm.
I did not even know you could use that.
I’ve never used the blast thing before, I’ve never noticed it
I did this my first playthrough didn't know you could use the rocket till my 3 or 4th go.
Dod that by accident one time. Thought it was normal and when I did use the rocket engine on the next run, I was so confused
I did this every play through I always thought the button killed you
I’ve never even went in the control room cause I just wanted to keep shooting synths
Funnily enough my first playthrough i fought with him instead of the button, wasnt until second playthrough i got the main dialogue
Wait what, I was killing them without the engine core this whole time I never knew you could use the engine
Bro I didn't know that you could do that I thought that paladin Danse would get incinerated like the synths and me
I wondered that everyday. It was troubling me. Thank you very much for showing what would happen if you made the different decision. 🔥🔥🔥🔥👍💪😬
Yo what, when I did this I just went and helped, I didn't know you could activate it
The real Synths are the friends we made along the way (quite literally)
My first playthrough i just fought them not realizing you can use the rocket
To answer the question a lot more efficiently: not much.
I didn't need to think about it, like yourself I tried all the outcomes myself .
Wait I just did this quest today, I didn’t even know that there was a big red button there
I usually just close the security doors and watch Danse kill like a hundred synths until I get bored. I have 30-40 various institute pistols, rifles, and shock batons each, I get Righteous Authority (pretty good early game weapon) and 1,200-1,500 fusion cells for it. That plus looting out Arcjet makes for a pretty good start.
You can test fire the weapon afterwards and Dance said we're lucky the engine didn't explode
During my first playthrough i didn't know to oress the button and just killed all the syths
I recently did this in my new play through. Messed them up real good 🤣🤣🤣
You can also just wait for him to go in the room with you and then press it.
That’s what I did every time not knowing you can just incinerate them 😭
I didn't even know about the button
I have played through fallot 4 7 times
He does kill them all eventually, but it takes a long time
Ive never see Danse get hit by the rocket blast 🤣
I already did that in my first play through because I didn’t realize the game wanted me to turn the engine on
I didnt even know i was supposed to do something with an engine lol. Just grabbed a junk jet and got the synths
I managed to get Danae into the control room when I fired the rocket. Because of this the voice line was skipped
Sometimes for me whenever I press the button to use the rocket Paladin Danse will just straight up die and I cannot join the Brotherhood of Steel
I didn’t even know you could press a button
I knew about the button but was like naaa ima just kill them and take the loot
Most of the time i use the rocket engine but my current play through I fought the synths with him instead
My second run through one of the synths activated the jets while i was down with danse..... I died so hard 😂
He shot at a weakpoint of the armour
It's actually pretty much the perfect way to mind resources. If you just wait before turning on the engine's palate and dance will just keep killing since and they will just keep coming. So after you finish them off you have plenty of weapons that you can bring to market for sale.
Danse is lucky that button only works once, i wouldve pressed it again to see what happens if it did
I didn’t even know about the rocket and just killed them all by myself💀🙏
I did the same, I went down to join him thinking 'infinite exp glitch' was very dissapointed
First time I ever played the game I did this quest and pressed the rocket button, I thought it was gonna kill danse some reloaded a save from a few seconds ago to just shoot all the synths
I dont think Ive ever pressed the button... I didn't even think you could...
It pops as an optional objective 😂
I just learned that you should use the Rocket engine in this shorts. I always used to kill them myself...
I've just started playing fallout 4 for the very first time, and I just killed all of them, I thought that was just the thing you were supposed to do lol
First time I played I used the rocket. Never again since, wouldn't want to hurt my pal Danse 😢
