Oh my goodness that is amazing. I thought whenever you bent metal you had to heat it up but that is incredible. I love learning new stuff especially amazing stuff like this. Absolutely gorgeous work thank you so much.
Awesome! Starting to do some jewelry crafting from old silverware. Can you show how to make a necklace slide for a guitar pick holder.? I would love to make thess gifts for my music friends.
Hi, I get my crystal rivets from Chair and Chisel. I generally only use 4mm and 6mm sizes. Just as a reminder, drill bit sizes for crystal rivets are: 4mm rivet = 1/16" bit and 6mm rivet = 7/64" bit. The hole is small bc you will use your center drill bit to drill a countersink so your rivet sits nicely. The rivet setting pliers are from Flatwearable. What kind of silverware are you working with? I tried stainless, then a piece of community plate. It was extremely difficult to bend, put it in a vice and still it would not hardly bend without being mishapen.
Hi Caren, Stainless is hard and needs to be annealed. I’ll put a link below to the flatware patterns page. Look for some of those brands on FB Marketplace or at antique shops. $1-1.50 for each piece is a good price. www.sterlingflatwarefashions.com/SPPatterns/11SPP1A.html
Hi Susan, I used my Bender Press to flatten the fork. You can also flatten it on an anvil with a hammer. The tube was a piece of a little hamer I had. Now I use stainless steel straws from walmart for bending fork tines. Hi, I have a “Bender Press” attached to my arbor press. Here are the links: www.flatwearable.net/home/flatwearable-bender-3d/ www.harborfreight.com/1-ton-arbor-press-3552.html
An arbor press is a small, manual press. I got mine at Harbor Freight. Here is a link. www.harborfreight.com/1-ton-arbor-press-3552.html It comes with a ram, the grooved bar that goes up and down. I have swapped mine for a Bender Press attachment from Flatwarable Artisan Jewelry. Here is a link to that. www.flatwearable.net/home/flatwearable-bender-3d/ Hope this helps!
Girl use sterling silver not plated. Its easier to bend and a helluva lot prettier. And also silver plated is too heavy to wear around the neck. Silver plated is just that a thin thin layer of sterling silver over metal. That's why it's so hard to bend or work with. And all that thin layer of sterling is just rubbing right off. I'm sorry but why would you wear silver plated anything. And a fork around the neck is just not what's happening..hahahaha

The material is silver fork???
Can you named the type please?
Fork for food or for cake??
Hi Bill,
This is a silver plated fork. I believe it was a salad fork. Very long tines.
@@JustJani special thanks!🙏
May I ask what you are using to flatten them? You said a press?
Hi Katherine,
I use a “Bender Press” kit that is attached to my arbor press. Here’s a link:

Where do you get the metal tube to bend the forks
Hi,
Those are stainless steel straws from Walmart!
How are you flattening it when it bends back?
I was using the Bender Press attachment on my arbor press. It has different sized steel pins that you use the bend the handle over.
Here is a link to that attachment.

Did you anneal the fork before you started bending it?
No, I don’t anneal any of my silver plate. These forks have the really long tines and they bend pretty easily.
Awesome!
what is the name of this tube?
Hi,
That tube was a piece of a hammer I had taken apart. Now I use stainless steel straws from Walmart.
