Greenworks GPW3000 Electric Pressure Washer Review

- Опубліковано 9 лис 2021
- My old, discounted, reconditioned, gas-powered pressure washer died several years ago, and I picked up a Greenworks 2000 PSI electric one as an inexpensive replacement. After many hours of pressure washing a one-inch-wide path, I realized that was a mistake. I gifted the 2000-PSI one to my parents for light work around the house, and upgraded to a Greenworks 3000 PSI model, which is one of the most-powerful electric pressure washers available for use on a 15-amp circuit. In this video, I answer the question of whether this electric pressure washer is a satisfactory option for pressure-washing concrete around the house. In short, yes, it is, but you should still watch the entire video to see some troubleshooting and also a stray cat named Eclipse.

I can't find it on Amazon, so here's a link to the pressure washer on the company's website:

This is the 15" attachment shown in the video:

This is the Karcher 15" attachment I've heard recommended:

To reduce the time I spend pressure washing in the future, I have sealed everything with Siloxa-Tek 8505, which is an obscenely expensive, but so far, an extremely good sealant: amzn.to/3H8Lik7

I appreciate your honesty and getting straight to the point of your review. Concrete cleaning in an electric is what I was really curious about and you delivered that. So thanks again and PS, the cats name is perfect. 👍🏽
Thanks for taking the time to make this video 👍
Nice to see the the review on this unit! 😀🛫
THANKS...exactly what I needed--considering the gpw3000 + surface cleaner for 100' concrete driveway. I have many problems with plumbing due to hard water..really appreciate the repair part of video also.
I'm glad it was helpful. You just reminded me to look up the 15" Karcher surface cleaner I saw recommended in another comment. I put a link in the video description.
Thanks for the review and tear-down.
You're quite welcome.
Just got this washer, haven't used yet, but love the random cat content.
Glad the 3000 is working out for you. Nice that you got the surface cleaner working again. I'm sure that is going to help people out. We bought our 3000 and the popular Karcher surface cleaner attachment about mid Summer and have used it a few times. Our 3000 got the job done but it wasn't flawless. Every time after about 30-60 minutes of use, the pressure/motor would start pulsating. Also there were fit and finish issues. There was a leak above the gun trigger, sharp pieces of metal on the accessory holder which would easily cut someone if they didn't notice it and the bar pads were far from centered. The Karcher surface cleaner was flawless though.
Good to know, thanks.
Kitty cat came to help troubleshoot!
One important thing I’ve learned in is, NEVER trust a man in sandals or flip flops. Lol😂
Good review! Happy you shown the dismantle & maintenance. But what about the it now? Is it working well for long period with the silicone lubricant or still jamming often? Looking to buy this model or the Karcher 15" who have all metal rotating joints. Thanks
I applied a good concrete sealer after I made this video, so I haven't had to use the surface cleaner much since then. The pressure washer is still running great.
FYI, if you're thinking of getting this, it takes a 15 Amp electrical power. it is not a special plug but it will pull more electricity than anything else in your house, unless you own an electric stove. If all you have is an 10 amp outlet, it will overheat & trip the circuit.
DO NOT REPLACE THE CIRCUIT BREAKER WITH A 15 AMP VERSION!! You'd also need to replace the wiring between your circuit breaker box & the outlet or the wires within your walls will heat up & glow like inside of a toaster & set FIRE to your house.
Most outlets have at least a 20 amp breaker and can easily handle 15 amps
Those surface cleaners are also useful if you flip them upside down & slide under your car to wash off any salt if you live in an area that gets snow. I have a different model, & mine stays flat when flipped, users would need something to hold it flat maybe wheels.
Smart. I've done that with a sprinkler, but the surface cleaner would probably do a better job.
no chance of damage? like pushing off a hose clamp or anything similar?
Perfect name for the cat bud. I hope you kept it. The face says it all. ECLIPSE
How did this electric model compare you your previous gas model?
If I remember correctly, the gas one was 3400 PSI, so it cleaned a little more aggressively. It also took up more horizontal storage space, weighed more, and was much louder.
Hello. I was foing to purchase this, but then started reading some bad reviews. We have a pretty large driveway and a 15 inch surgave cleaner. I just sold our big gas harbor freight and i think i might of made a mistake. I read that you can't run it more than an hour, dont ise an extension cord, and multiple people saying it just just off and wouldn't start again and sometimes turning it off and on it will work again. Do you think i should just get another gas one if I have a large driveway? Thank you.
Mine is still working fine, but I've never used it for anything as big as a driveway. Most tools that have a hose and high power draw, like air compressors and pressure washers, should not be used with an extension cord. Short explanation: The length of the cord impedes the flow of electricity, which creates heat, which creates more impedance, etc. You can use a longer water hose, though.
Are you using this on a 20A breaker? Looks like other testers see this unit spike close to 20A, but level out under 15. Wondering if i need to upgrade my garage electrical.
I was on a 20A breaker, and using a 40' 12-gauge extension cord for about half of the job (which is not recommended). I thought about measuring draw, and I'm not sure why I didn't. Either way, 20A spikes are not likely to cause problems even with a 15A circuit as long as they're short and infrequent. This video explains why: ua-cam.com/video/24f-J0lVo-E/v-deo.html
@@TheSnekkerShow thanks much!
@@TheSnekkerShow very interesting. Had no idea these were thermal limits and not amp limits.
I went with a stainless steel surface cleaner with casters. It's costs more of course but you get what you pay for. Thanks for answering my question on the washer. I have one on order with Amazon, ordered two weeks ago and it's not due to arrive till after 4th at the earliest and possibly the end of the month at the latest. Getting a bit impatient with the wait but my local Lowe's doesn't stock it, so.
@@naamangeist7843 normally they can ship to store? If not, strange, but not a deal breaker.
Bend the pipe so the two spray tips are a little more if an angle!
So would you recommend this for starting a business in pressure washing?
It depends on the business. It would be useful to have an electric pressure washer in the inventory, but if you're going to be pressure washing large areas and need to move quickly, you might want a larger gas machine.
@@TheSnekkerShow I got a electric one on amazom with 2030 PSI and just did my first concrete job with it! it worked pretty well still did well on removing dirt and grime, definitely will get a surface cleaner it took me forever 😂
Good stuff, Thanks for sharing.
I'm not a cat fan and after having dogs since I was a kid barking all day and now 50, I want some peace and quiet in my life, no loud dogs and no lound power washers. So maybe a Cat and a new Electric Power Washer for me 🤗
Good looking cat and great name for him or her? ECLIPSE ☺
Can you use it on tile grout?
I suppose you could, but I would be careful not to over-do it. Most grout is not completely waterproof, which is why it needs to be sealed periodically. Too much pressure could push water under the surface, or even break the grout out of the joint.
Nice! I would not have bet on it cleaning. I have an old Ryobi electric, but it’s only rated for about 2400 PSI. It’ll clean a driveway, but you better pack a lunch cause it’s sloooow. I guess electric tech is catching up!
I was pleasantly surprised. I was on the fence between this and a 3400 psi or more gas machine, but the electric ones are so much quieter, lighter, and easier to store.
I got the same pressure washer and am looking for a surface cleaner and think I'm going off brand for a better quality but I love the pressure washer itself no complaints on that but the cheap attachments are just that cheap... you get what you pay for is a real thing
I'm going to get this unit and wanted to know what power head you found to replace the "cheap" head? Aloha, Mark
the surface cleaner works best on smoother surfaces...its only rated around 1000 PSI...it wud clean the concrete great if u use the turbo nozzle...just be careful not to sandblast off the finish
The one I showed in the video was rated for 3100 psi, but they sell others with a lower rating. I can't find it on the Greenworks site now, so maybe they discontinued it.
The hard washers are likely scraf cut sealing rings.
What is the most powerful pressire washer in the world?
a dam
Hi kitty
Wow. Would never buy based on this reviewer
yeah that surface cleaner is very cheaply built, mine still works but the plastic prongs that hold the brushes around it can easily brake off if you're not careful. 👎
I was a little surprised when I turned it over and saw hot glue holding it together. If it gives me any trouble next year, I might consider an upgrade.
It’s because you didn’t make it.
Rip off, cheap Amazon one is as good or even better.
Which model?
What a piece of junk........my ryobi blows it away !
Which model Ryobi? I’m actually thinking of getting the Greenworks 2300. Ryobi is better?
Talk about junk...ryobi fits that bill
Which Ryobi?
Why junk?
