Bro, I remember his career. He was hyped up in 2008. Then, he went from 5 star to 4-star, compound that with Sullinger, Barnes, and Kyrie’s come up. And that’s was it 😢😢😢
I was surprised you didn't do this one sooner! I knew as soon as he skipped his senior year, he would almost certainly crash and burn. He needed that extra year to fine-tune everything, and would have been served well with at least a year in college as well. His situation was tailor-made for this channel.
These networks want to desperately find the next Kobe. Work ethic is what set Kobe apart, at the end of the day it just going to be more stunted growth episodes for us to watch.
I remember hearing about a young man a long time ago who was leaving high school after his junior year and I'm glad to have heard the story. I actually think he fared a lot better than some people who actually go to college and never get picked up. I believe it was Ill advised but it wasn't a total failure.
I remember reading about this guy years ago. For some people making money asap is the correct option. For others it is getting ahead of themselves. Another great video, man!
This reminds me of Ben Simmons: One and Done on Showtime when Ben’s mom says “When a 14-year old violin prodigy happens, you don’t say ‘He can’t join the orchestra. I believe high school kids should be allowed the choice to go pro after high school.” Fast forward to now… Ben is a MESS! Even if the Nets are getting better!
This was a pretty unfortunate case of someone who never had any adversity thrown his way, and didn't know how to handle it when it showed up. And this was where college could've helped, Israel is pretty high level when it comes to international pro ball. No matter where it is, pro ball doesn't have time to babysit players.
Great choice and video! I remember when my squad UCLA was recruiting him and the buzz around Tyler. There was word that he was potential trouble and UCLA backed off.
He wasn’t trouble but he couldn’t get the grades so he wouldn’t have been able to get in or stay in for that year. Unless they just passed him because he was an athlete
Seems like the poor guidance started at home, and the coaches/team didn't want to pick up the slack. But he did get an NBA check, which I haven't. So hats off to him..
At least he is still playing basketball somewhere and not a 9 to 5 job ! Hopefully he was responsible with the salary he made from his brief nba career and overseas jobs !
I remember this dude when he skipped his senior year in high school in San Diego; He definitely should had went to Louisville and developed his overall game under Rick Pitino for atleast a yr??.... I forgot all about him ever since?? Good one J.C!!💪🏽💯
him dating eazy es daughter also had a big effect on him…me and jt played together on team select aau in san diego when he played for daygo high…he was a baller…but buddy had all the wrong people round him
I’ve been waiting for a while for this on I think I commented like over a year and a half ago a couple times for you to do his story Can we stunted growth - Michael Carter-Williams
At the end of the day if you’re good enough, you’re old enough. One day someone probs will come along who’s good enough to play in the NBA as a junior or even sophomore, Tyler just wasn’t that guy. If you follow football you’ll know Rooney was playing and scoring in the prem at 16, so I think someone could do it, they just need to be highly skilled w an extremely developed body, that’s why some thought Bron could do it back then
I grew up with JT he was hyped as a for sure first round pick since 6th grade shit I thought he would be too his plan was to go straight from hs but once they changed the rules he signed to Louisville I doubt he would’ve been eligible grade wise another reason he went overseas. No one ever helped him with his game they would add em to all the best Cali kids and let em hoop because he was like the shaq of our circuit
Love your UA-cam Channel, I never miss an episode. Keep up the good work! You should do a Stunted Growth on Gordon Malone, Big Man who played College Ball for West Virginia.
That beginning monologue was even more reason for why kids should have the choice to play pro basketball fresh out of high school. To be honest. The fact that 18-year-olds are seen as old enough to lose their lives in a war but not old enough to make money put in the basketball in a hoop has never sat well with me.
It’s sad. His footage was showing so much lacking. How they say League is wild to me from Jr. year with the footage you showed it was clear he was not ready to leave HS. He needed a Coach K. Smh, his support system set him up for their success and dreams. Wasted his youth and I agree 6’10 and his skills was not dominating anyone not in HS. He needed to play other D1 kids.
If you haven’t already you should do my guy Corey Sanders I feel like he never got a real shot at the league fr fr after Rutgers and he helped make them relevant again
That military example is dumb. You don’t enlist in the military on Monday and in a war zone on Friday. You got to boot camp and get more training before you go to war. College would had nothing but help him being a 6ft10 guy in HS with a ounce of athletic ability you are not going up against much comp. Imagine if he would had developed with Golden State
@Stunted Growth Few Suggestions: Carlos Arroyo Rudy Fernandez Raja Bell Courtney Lee Sasha Pavlovic Kevin Martin Hakim Warrick Andrie Karlinko Ak47 Antonio Daniel's Jarred Jeffries Rodrigue Beaubois
Lets do a video on Anthony Davis Another Laker Year is over in disappointments. Former team Pelicans are now the uprising team from the trade picks they received.
Let's be honest as shady as college sports politics are the system of developing players actually works for the most part.Idk much bout the g league farm system they created for hs players to go play there instead of college but it still is the fact of a young player needs time to develop physically n even moreso mentally. The mental part destroys these young players then the ability aspect because performance pressure, family pressure, expectations of self and feeling the need to match the hype makes these players move faster then they need to Sidenote:He was a good backup to the backup centers in golden state on 2k13.I got some good and 1 finishing poster dunks from him 😆
@Chi-town literally making fun of the dude's comments when he was 18 years old. This dude wants to act like he's on a high horse like if he never made some dumb decisions at the same age. We all have!

How do you feel about the move Tyler made to skip his senior year now that you've seen how his career went?
My cousin played against him in high school. He was a monster
JC, I gotta call you out on mocking dude with that whiney voice. If you want to blame someone, blame the dad. That was his idea.

maaaaaaaaaaaaaaan.... we needed this dude at LOUISVILLE badly... I was so excited to have this dude, but damn.
That’s where I recognized this guy! I forgot he played for my kings for a partial season.
