  • It feels great to get back out on Cold Lake to chase some Lake Trout to start of 2021! The lake trout sure were hungry and chasing tubes up and down the water column. If you are heading out stay safe as the ice conditions are continually changing.

    Love the vids, especially the ones with the Active Target. Very cool but also very expensive. Thanks for making the videos.

    Do you need a sled or quad to get out far enough or will walking do? Looking to get out there this coming winter, but don’t have a sled yet.

    • @weaversbentrods
      @weaversbentrods  2 роки тому

      you can get out walking there’s lots of places I’ve walked out and caught some really nice fish! Marina, Provincial Park Point, French Bay, English Bay are a few great starting points that are accessible walking from the launches

    Nice fish, do you have to move around alot too find them or are they just in one spot?

    • @weaversbentrods
      @weaversbentrods  3 роки тому +1

      Depends on the day sometimes you spend the time locating other days you just end up on them and don't have to move much at all. No sense waisting time if the fish aren't there

    cool video buddy!! any advise of where i should go out there lake is so big and just learning how to use a helix gps so finding structure is difficult. and can you catch lakers in 30 or 40 ft? thanks

    • @weaversbentrods
      @weaversbentrods  4 роки тому +2

      strait out from the marina in 80-100ft is a great spot or even over to the provincial park point. You can catch lakers up that shallow but generally speaking you will want to be in the 80-100ft zone for more consistent action

    what Weight tube are you using to get down 80 feet

    • @weaversbentrods
      @weaversbentrods  4 роки тому +1

      I use anything from .5oz to 2oz. Just depends what kind of presentation I'm after

    • @larrypapke6159
      @larrypapke6159 4 роки тому +1

      what changes in your presentation to go heavier? Need it to fall faster? They are less aggressive, go smaller? Thanks for the knowledge

    • @weaversbentrods
      @weaversbentrods  4 роки тому

      You got it exactly sometimes a slow fall time is nice for them to pick it up. Less aggressive is better to be on the smaller side "most times". Thats the fun about fishing is everything changes each day and you have to adapt to come out with a successful day.

    Man you make it look easy! I try and make a trip every winter and stay on the lake for a few days. Always a struggle lol. I try different tubes, different parts of the lake, different structure and depths, finding the bait fish. Any tips? 😂

    • @weaversbentrods
      @weaversbentrods  4 роки тому

      Just bounce around eventually you'll stumble on something! Had many slow days out there until something comes together
